Toby, having since changed Jamie and put her to bed, is approaching Quinn, wherever she is.
"Leading up to it. I...well, both. Being on the run..."
---
Quinn, meanwhile, is in the kitchen herself, chopping vegetables and humming happily.
Keri sighs. Thank you for your offer, but I think I'm going to go. She says starting to head back towards the woods.
Toby reaches over to grab the knife and put it somewhere safer before pulling the paladin into his arms and kissing her strongly.
Recaiden is wondering why he felt it necessary to post that. Furthest cabin, middle of the night, it's not like it's in doubt. :smalltongue:
I... remember part. I remember that you were one of the Solars who... was still recognisable as human.
BR spots the earlier post that he overlooked, and apologies. :smalltongue:
Brendan goes to the door of the cabin, rubbing his eyes, and wondering if he should follow.
---
Quinn eeps in surprise, then laughs happily and kisses Toby back! Melting against him happily.
---
Shrike sighs, and nods slowly. "Yeah. I...remember you trying to help, too, and then...getting seperated..." She pauses for a long moment. "Nothing past that, though."
Recaiden accepts the apology.
People! Ashna looks back, wondering if she should attack them or run from them or-oh it's just Brendan. Back to slowly walking away.
I love you Quinn. He grins and takes her off to bed for snuggling.
Neither do I.
Keri heads off into the woods leaving the base behind hoping leaving is the right decision.
Brianna looks at her. You don't have to go.
If Keri passes the farthest cabin, she might see Brendan slipping out of the doorway, buttoning his shirt as he follows the trail of what seems to be a wolf...
---
Quinn puts up no resistiance!
---
Shrike nods, and puts her face in her hands.
Zamira, reflexively, hugs Shrike. It's all right...
Keri pauses and looks back at Brianna. This place is so different from my home. I don't know... I don't feel entirely comfortable here. Says the young girl. And it's true when she is here she is jumpy expecting to be attacked, she doesn't know the people, doesn't know the area and is always on her guard.
The wolf is skulking behind a tree at the edge of the woods, proper, wondering why Brendan is taking so long to catch up.
It's not like she could possibly be hard to find.
What's the alternative, then? Live out in the woods?
Starve? You're going to have a hard time in winter.
It's relatively safe here.
Brendan had to get dressed. :smalltongue: He finally catches up though, and offers a pat of the head. And a bit of a scritch behind the ears. "Sorry I didn't remember that and get ready," he whispers.
---
Shrike hugs Zamira back with one arm, not crying this time, but still looking...very shaken, for want of a better term.
I remember... a lot of things. And a lot of it conflicts with what I know today...
The wolf wonders 'why?' In this state it doesn't come into her mind that other people feel cold. It nuzzles against his hand and starts walking deeper into the woods.
I wouldn't starve. She says stubbornly. Freeze to death is more likely she thinks to herself. I don't know what to do.
Brendan would explain, but well, yeah. :smalltongue:
He follows with a smile, letting Ashna lead the way.
---
"How so?" Shrike asks, quietly.
Or freeze.
----
Like... the Realm, us...
She wouldn't understand. And also it's obvious. :smalltongue:
Off they go, just walking for now.
Shrike bites her lip, and hugs Zamira a little tighter. "What about us?"
---
And walk they do!
Wasn't so confusing back then.
They're going more leftly than before, ignoring the one howl of a wolf heard in the distance.
Keri frowns and looks down. I don't what to do.
You can stay here. I'm making the offer, and even if I wasn't, we don't turn anyone who isn't evil away.
"Yeah," Shrike agrees, closing her eyes and, just for a moment, picturing things as they were. As they were back then...
She opens them again and looks away, blinking, trying not to mist up, and feeling... "I wish they weren't..."
---
Brendan turns his head in the direction of the howl, and listens, nearly getting thwacked in the eye by a tree branch for his lack of attention-paying.
