I really wish Downing had stayed in for the farewell tour. But, gotta respect the artist's wishes. If he wants to leave, we can't stop him.

Re: Metal Thread V - Defenders of the Faith
I can't believe Khan is leaving Kamelot. He's my favorite singer ever, and I never got the chance to see him live. There's no way anyone can ever replace him. I hope they can get someone good, cuz Kamelot is my favorite band and I hate would hate for this to ruin them.

So, what's the point of Nevermore now, besides being another name for Warrel's solo efforts? What happens with the hinted at Sanctuary reunion? Why does the world suck so much right now?

Re: Metal Thread V - Defenders of the Faith
i really dont know
i suppose that metal will die soon

Re: Metal Thread V - Defenders of the Faith
To dispel the GRIMDARK feeling this thread is getting lately for a little while, the first sample of the new Symphony X album sounds grrrreat.
...and if after that Michael Romeo suddenly says he's leaving I may start blowing up things :smallannoyed:.

Metals been in way worse spots than a couple of line-up changes.

It's ok. We'll meet them in the dreamtime. Whenever they call us, we'll go under.

I'm right with you, my friend. :smallfrown: I just read the news and I'm just crushed. The band is brilliant, but Khan was an amazing frontman and singer and just made the band alive. I don't think they'll have what they've had again. :smallfrown:
K.K too? ... this is a horrible week now. :smallfrown:

They are forever in our hearts, they never died :smallfrown:.
Darn, how I love that album.

Re: Metal Thread V - Defenders of the Faith
So I came across this the other day, and, needless to say, I'm having trouble sleeping. It's not actually the concept that has so horrified me, but the execution (...or should I say "butchering"?).

What a waste. I wouldn't mind if the dude had actually made a worthwhile track. That percussion is absolutely terrible. Who thought that mix was actually a good idea?
And the rapping has absolutely nothing going for it. I mean, damn.

Re: Metal Thread V - Defenders of the Faith
Thought I'd share a couple of photos from Dornenreich last Saturday.
The quality's a bit poor, I only had a phone camera.
Yay German Black Metal.

Dax Riggs tonight sounds like fun, though he still isn't playing metal... oh well. :smalltongue:

Actually, I got there quite late, but with there being 8 bands playing, people went off to the bar between each performance. I made sure I got to the front for Eastern Front, Wodensthrone, Dornenreich and Alcest.
Also, I actually don't Mosh. Ever. :smalltongue:

the first bit was clever
but why no moshing?

Re: Metal Thread V - Defenders of the Faith
Moshing strikes me as kind of lame, to be perfectly honest, but I won't pretend to know why Nameless doesn't partake.

I can understand why people wanna mosh, I had a ton of fun moshing when I was younger, but it kinda gets annoying as you get older, and to me it also distracts from enjoying the show I'm spending my hard earned money on.
Also while alot of people show respect and courtesy while moshing, accidents can easily happen, and that's not mentionning those that do not show respect and courtesy...

Re: Metal Thread V - Defenders of the Faith
Especially when your pit is mainly made out of 2 meter tall fat dudes.
Because moshing with 2 meter tall fat dudes when you're a 1 meter 60 dude who weighs less then half of their weight...Its just not fun...
I'm not even going to have to say ''shirtless'' there.

that sounds...intimidating

Re: Metal Thread V - Defenders of the Faith
I have nothing at all against moshing. A lot of people who do it seem to be quite careful actually. I'd just rather be at the front watching the band I paid to see.
Anyway, it might ruin my make-up. :smalltongue:

Dax Riggs is a badass. >.>
Also, my thoughts on moshing: if I paid more than fifteen bucks for the show, I'm watching the band. Otherwise, why the hell not?
