Re: Murphy's Law 7: ...Maybe?
I still don't get it. *shrug* Wait, Matt ISN'T bi? Because then that DOES clear away my confusion. Kind of. :D

Re: Murphy's Law 7: ...Maybe?
Wait, did Lloyd and tinder make the bet on or off panel?

No, Matt's straight. You thought he was bisexual?

Off-panel.
Sorry guys, but I can't update this week. :smallfrown:
-
Re: Murphy's Law 7: ...Maybe?
One week without an update? THE HORROR!
Don't worry about it Coffee. Real life comes first and we get that. We're just glad you notify us.
-
Re: Murphy's Law 7: ...Maybe?
Yeah, don't kill yourself trying to make an update every single week. If you do that, then the strip will end FOREVER, and that's even worse.
At least you aren't doing NaNoWriMo. If you are, I completely understand your situation and frankly wouldn't blame you for missing all November updates.
For those of you who don't know, "NaNoWriMo" stands for National Novel Writing Month. A bunch of crazies (myself included) attempt to write a 50-thousand-word novel in the month of November. I've been doing it for a couple years now, and by Thanksgiving, I usually have more caffeine in my veins than blood. It's still a lot of fun, though, and I've always been able to make the deadline. This is my first year attempting to do it in college, though.

My sister is one of those crazies. She's... a little behind schedule (she's only got 2,300+ words, and it's day 6).

Re: Murphy's Law 7: ...Maybe?
Ooh! I just found something interesting that could probably go on TV Tropes. It's not exactly Fridge Brilliance since it was obviously planned that way, so if anyone knows the proper trope it would fall under, let us know.
When Team Gale first arrives at Lute, there is a sign that shows Lute's population. See here. When the group of bandits enters the city here, the populations on the sign grow. More specifically, a simple calculation will show that the bandit group contains 400 people and ten livestock. Normally this would just be a cool background gag, but considering the plot, I find it very interesting that this magical sign registers any Plaavan as people.
Thoughts?

I think it registers anything with int 1-2 as livestock, and anything with int 3+ as people.
-
Re: Murphy's Law 7: ...Maybe?
Well, yeah, but consider that a not-insignificant portion of the world doesn't think of the Plaavan as anything more than animals and some consider them worse than animals. I'm wondering if whoever enchanted the sign realized that Plavaan would fall into the "+3 Int" category and whether or not they cared.

Re: Murphy's Law 7: ...Maybe?
The sign was a joke, saying that Lute has more farm animals than people.
EDIT: I have no clue how that typo happened.
There should be an update some time this weekend. This week really burnt me out...

Well that would make sense assuming Lute has a fairly significant livestock scene. I would expect 1 farmer or farming family to have on the the order of 50-100 animals.
-
Re: Murphy's Law 7: ...Maybe?
Wait...was that population jump a typo, or was it on purpose?
-
Re: Murphy's Law 7: ...Maybe?
coffee, that sounds like the kind of typo that should TOTALLY Be worked into the story and made canon and weird. but thats me.

Given the level of technology I'd say 5-20 is a lot more likely. It's a lot of work to take care of 50-100 livestock of assorted species with modern technology, let alone doing it by hand. /nitpick

Oh wow my random number was a lot closer than I thought. I'm not a farmer in case it's not obvious. :smalltongue:

Yeah, Aequar's been stuck in medieval stasis for a while, not for lack of trying.
-
Re: Murphy's Law 7: ...Maybe?
Them they must be very determined or alot of livestock migrate(?) to that town
-
Re: Murphy's Law 7: ...Maybe?
Eh, chances are the scientific revolution going on in Elfland and sociocultural revolutions going on in Runite and Laria will help pull Nordica out of that stasis.

Perhaps...Anywho, comic time!
#161: Overpowering His Entire Class
Just so you guys know, I won't be able to update again until the 22nd at the earliest. Sorry, guys. Also, check out the Secret Santa thread!

Re: Murphy's Law 7: ...Maybe?
Matt? I can turn into a bear. You make me LOL Coffee.
Is her arm turning into a bear there? It kinda looks like a deformed bear without back legs. I'm not trying to nitpick, but it's just a bit weird.

Re: Murphy's Law 7: ...Maybe?
Overpowering his entire class? Um, hello? Overpowering the rest of the party (possibly excluding Serrin, though her specialization is unfavorable).
-
Re: Murphy's Law 7: ...Maybe?
"That's not a girly thing at all."
Real smooth, Matt.

She's pointing at herself in the last panel.

Re: Murphy's Law 7: ...Maybe?
Hey guys, it turns out that I think I'm a bit ahead of schedule, work-wise, so I MAY be able to update late Friday or early Saturday!
