Otherwise I'll go with "Where did that even come from?" when the flowerpot falls in About Time.
Other nomination would be "Tough crowd" "Tell me about it!" during her stand up routine

Sir, I am currently beset by deadlines and misfortunes and a mind shifting, seeking to find its footing; I have already sworn allegiance to the epic sagas of Heroes of the Fall, and dreaded Thanqol holds my signature in blood regarding the Perfect Arrow. I have no skill with the world of darkness, being more comfortable with unrealities than possible realities, more comfortable with the stories of gods and magicians in worlds unrestrained by mortal law and fact. This world is, after all, so very big that I find it hard to fully understand, unlike worlds that can be shaped with pictures and ideas.
However, if you would still have me, I profess myself greatly curious about Changeling. Even more than Mage, it is much lower-powered than I'm used to, but - as one of my favorite shirts says - myths and legends stir my soul. If you will have me, sir, I am yours.

I agree with these pieces of fanon. I also hold that Tavi and Scratch are living together either as a couple or at least as an odd couple, possibly depending on what day of the week it is.

Duly noted. I'm still reading the books and manically scribbling notes (it's WoD so it has to be maniacal), so there is no thread as of yet. I should be through them within the week however (I am slowed by also playing through Phoenix Wright, Trials and Tribulations), at which point I will get things running post haste.
So far Thanqol is definitely playing, Raz and SiuS are in, and Phoe has expressed an interest by proxy. I could probably handle up to 2 more people if anyone wants, although I also think 3-4 is a perfectly fine number.

It's all about comparatives.
The Reapers are a crippling threat to the ME unverse, but in comparison to the Aotrs, they are completely out-classed.
Jack O'Neill is an awesome soldier, but he'd be just out of his league against Son Goku.
Most "Badass Normals" merely display a higher level of capability than the people they are immediately associated with, which in roleplaying terms would equate to simply being higher level (or that their superpowered compariots are under-optimised. Superman, for instance, could be arguably said to be functionally unoptimised on account of his own preferences not to utilise the full breadth of his potential abilites.) If you have an individual that actually has the same level of skill or work ethic (or resources1), then, as they say, no duh, the one with the additional powers will win. (If Sasuke Uchiha had Rock Lee's personality, he'd basically be completely unstoppable (And Naruto would be an even more hilariously awesome series).) Real (un)life is not, in fact, balanced so that the people with superpowers are always counterbalanced with not trying as hard as the non-superpowered ones. Real (un)life is also not balanced like a game (video or tabletop) or a story in which the protagonist only faces enemies in their own rough order of magnitude.
The assertation that an unaugmented human (i.e. that does not have access to spiral power or some such) is capable of dealing with situations through sheer "manliness" (a concept which I find inherently distasteful to start with) is a microscopically more refined version of the one that said "courage alone can replace tactics, planning and overwhelming firepower" prevalent up to the early 20th century in many military forces, and which inevitably resulted in catastrophic casualties.
Badasserymorale/determination is important, yes, but it is not a substitute for flat-out superior capabilities, no matter how much people may wish it otherwise.
Aha. Yeah, I would've bungled that something fierce.

Trixie's gone. I'm glad she's gone. There is no way she could actually maintain canon and still be what everyone wants from her. Unlike Luna, who didn't have z canon to stay true to, Trixabelle Lulamoon would be a disaster.
That said I'd love for Trixabelle to be polite, well-read, and startled that ponyville holds her stage act against her. "Seriously? Even Luna knew I was kidding about being the greatest unicorn. I mean she and Celestia were RIGHT THERE. You ponies are funny."

This is going to take awhile; I’ve amassed a collection of fanon sufficient to write at least 4-5 fanfics (listed in order of sane to ponysane):
Lyra and Bon Bon are married
Dinky is Derpy’s daughter; The mare seen with Dinky during the Sisterhoof Social is Dinky’s foalsitter. Carrot Top is Derpy’s neighbor.
Octavia and Vinyl Scratch are roommates.
Twilight comes from an extremely well-to-do Canterlot family.
Fluttershy has an unrequited crush on Big Macintosh; Big Macintosh has an unrequited crush on Twilight Sparkle.
Warning, the following fanon is particularly nuts, and formed from fanfics I may or may not write sometime in the unforeseen future, proceed at your own risk.

Dragon’s ability to grow via greed was an ability given to them by Discord; as a result, dragon society devolved into the vicious, petty and scattered form seen today (which is more or less what Discord wanted to happen).
Princess Celestia had spent the last several generations planning for the return of the Elements of Harmony, ensuring that specific ponies were living in Ponyville (and that there was a Ponyville) when the time came for Nightmare Moon to escape.
Since she banished Nightmare Moon, Princess Celestia has taken on personal students who either had truly unique levels of talent, or had special magical talents that could become dangerous without proper guidance. Twilight Sparkle was the 30th such student.
Spike is not the only dragon in Equestria: a few of Princess Celestia’s students have had dragon assistants, and they have remained in Equestria, taking pony-form, to watch over their pony friends and family. Said dragons are led by a dragon who has been Celestia’s assistant since prior to Luna’s banishment. One of these dragons happens to be Fluttershy’s great-great-grandfather.
During his initial reign over Equestria, Discord was backed by a dangerous cult of ponies who reveled in his chaos, five of whom he personally tutored in chaos magic, rendering them immortal. Four of these students are currently imprisoned by Princess Celestial; the fifth was sealed away by Discord himself.

Griffons are Germans (or now French, not sure anymore.)
Donkeys are Eastern Europens, more Czech than Russian (Stalliongrad would be a rough mix of ponies and donkeys.... and perhapes bears. ), and Mules are generaly made the traditinal way. Heh.
Sheep are Scots, say what you will, while Goats inhabit the ever-lovely area known as Fleece.
The french equivulent are well, Deer, because I cannot pass up a Prance pun.
South America contains Llamas, with Alpalcas living primaraly in Mexico. North America would have (naturaly) Buffalo, with Moose living up there in the Unnamed Frozen North. The Inuit are polar bears, if only to make coca-cola jokes.
I could let the stand-ins for the Middle East range from the sterotypical Camel to others like the Onager. Perhapes if we let ponies have nice things, there could be Arabneighans running around, too.
Zebraca would have zebras, yes, but there are plenty options here. Rhinos inhabiting a place called the Horn Of Zebraca? Check. Elephants and giraffes, hippos and gazells, all of those could be decent ways of spicing up the place.
Asia is a harder place to fit in steriotypical creatures compared to the former examples, mostly because I have seemed to have dried up on hoofed mammels. I am tempted to place Mongolians as Dimond Dogs (using captured local Mules from up north as forced mounts), but found it more appropriate if they where instead Centaurs. I mean, how else would they shoot bows? Indian reprisentitives, I am afraid, have been regulated as Cows. Japan is inhabited by...Seaponies, along with Indonisia and others.
The Chinese are Dragons, quite feasably because Spike mentioned the Fu-Manchu beard in some episode, but mostly because of pure bias.:smalltongue:
Australia makes me scrach my head. I would just type "Kangaroo", but that makes me feel rather wierd to call the natives of that land actualy inherently different than the rest of the world. Anyone from that blasted wasteland sandy deathtrap willing to lend a hand here?

Honestly, mine is quite simple. Celestia and Luna are immortal but not deities; Derpy has two daughters, Dinky and Sparkler; Derpy likes muffins but is not obsessed with them; Lyra and Bon Bon are dating; Lyra isn't obsessed with humans, she just sits funny; Trixie will eventually return to ponyville, and will have completely forgotten Twilight.
Speaking of Derpy, here's a cute and simple Derpy story.

Agreed. That, and Scratch and Octavia are friends. Also, the other races have their own homelands, which are fantasy counterparts to real world countries (the changelings are nomadic, though). I like to think they might have their own tribes, like the ponies, but at that point I'd be missing the point of the fanon question.

Well, since you (foolishly) asked, a recap, then:
Celestia and Luna are full-out goddesses, it's just that Celestia has spent so long in peace, and has become so powerful, that she is unwilling to go all-out without very good reason (so she won't accidently kill anyone, even her enemies, because she's trying to like Superman good); she's basically got a thousand year's XP lead on Luna (she could have fought Nightmare Moon, but just couldn't bring herself to fight her sister again.) The reason she can't use the elements anymore is because she has done things in the past that she bitterly regrets, which has made her leery.
Spike is a slightly different species to the other dragons, and "Baby Dragon" is his species, not necessarily his age (I put him as older than the CMC, in mid-to-late teens, the latter being more late-preteen/early teens. Certainly of an age where he is endowed with enough adult responsibility to look after himself and do a job without adult supervision (i.e. not really a "baby" at all, as I refuse to beleive Equestria has no child labour laws, nor that Twilight or Celestia would be so irresponcible if he was actually a full minor.) Spike's breath weapon is duel-type - regular fire and the teleport breath he uses on the scrolls (which with time and practise, he could extend to other things and even use as an offensive power - by simply not selecting a destination). Because teleport-fire is simply too cool not to exist.
Discord is flat-out Evil, as are those dragons, though to varying degress. Nightmare Moon's plan to cloak the world in darkness would have brought a cataclymic disaster, collapsing the world's ecosystem and leding most of the population to starve.
While they live in caves, dragons are essentially a diurnal species, and would have suffered just as much as everyone else (as even dragons cannot solely subsist on gemstones alone for extended periods).
Ponies follow a lot of real-world equine conventions, being highly-strung, sleeping comparitively less (Spike gets tired because he has more human-levels of need for sleep, whereas ponies need compartively little), there is a skew in gender towards the females side of the equation. (Luna's isolation began when the ponies moved away from the more traditional equine continuous activity cycle when they began to develop the trappings of civilisation (farming etc) to a more diurnal one better suited to the tasks at hand. Thus Luna found more and more ponies, instead of being equally active during the day and night as natural equines are, began to spend all the nights sleeping.) Ponies can be vegetarian, but are not strictly herbivorous (see hot dogs, eggs - required for baking among other things).
Ponies have superpowers (though that's more-or-less canon). (Specifically, phenonimal strength and resiliance to damage way outside their size class, even in relatively unbuff ponies like Twilight or Rarity.)
Pony genetics and the general mixing of pony breeds in societies over the centuries mean it is entirely possible for a pony of any breed to come from a pony of any other breed, though not always probable. One in every thousand or so foals born to pegasus and unicorn parents (possibly some particular gender conimbation of same) leads to an alicorn, though this is not a garentee of power (makign these alicorns different from the royal alicorns).
Ponies can have considerable longevity, as evidenced by Granny Smith, who may not actually be Applejack's grandmother but her great-great- (etc) grandmother1.
Derpy is a bright, cheerful, single mother with at least two children (Sparkler and Dinky), ex-military and older than she looks. She's a bit daft and unfocused most of the time, but woe betide if you get on her bad side (or between her and a muffin...) She does a lot of odd-jobs around Ponyville, including air-mail-pony, removal pony and crime scene investigator. Carrot-Top is her best, and frequently slightly bemused, baffled and slightly stressed, friend.
Doctor Hooves is obviously one of this relaties Time Lords, but having a bit of a quiet rest between wearing adventures. He probably is friendly with Derpy, though not in a romantic way.
One of the other nations out there are the Cusith, a quadruped canid race with a not dissimilar amount of magical talent to ponies, but fall much more on the evil side of the equation, and have frequently been thorns in Celestia's side over the centuries. (Yeah, no basis at all for this one, but it's just cool.)
That's a fair chunk of it, anyway...
1She was around at the founding of Ponyville, which Twilight has said has been doing Winter Wrap Up without magic for "centuries." From the apparent anologues with modern Equestria (approximately 1940-1950s technology or there abouts, maybe 1960s at a push) and the time of Granny Smith's zap apple flashback (seemingly 18th-19th century) I extrapolate she is probably about two hundred, and possibly considerably more.)
