Meanwhile I did the newly released Nitocris interlude and it made me realise Ozy, Arash, and Arthur were in an existing work before FGO. Anyone else know who the other 4 servants were in that grail war? I think one was Hassan of Serenity, but I'm not sure.
While I haven't actually experienced the Prototype light novels personally, a quick skim on the wiki says:
Arthur
Arash
Brynhildr
Hassan of the Serenity
Hohenheim
Ozymandias
Jekyl
Now, with that said, AFAIK Prototype is pretty wonky and I know Gil and Proto!Cu are supposed to be involves as well, so... *Shrug*
... Well, I'm pretty much done with the Apocrypha event now. No more raids to do, EP is maxed out and I've got all the best stuff out of the event shop. I might run a couple of free quests in the next couple of days for apples, but otherwise it's back to business as usual. I must say, aside from the timing on the first two Raid waves being super limiting (especially day 1: Raids activate, 1 hour later raids are done. Oof.), it was quite excellent. Huge rewards, a pretty good story (honestly, I actually like Sieg a lot more after this than I ever did after Apocrypha proper, and this really serves as his epilogue), excellent moments for all the characters involved. I enjoyed Avicebron's dry sarcasm here more than everything every single non-Nero Servant that showed up in Septem did combined. And Avicebron was one of the least notable characters in the event! Mordred, you really need to learn to work on your phrasing. Telling your male Master to 'Make sure to ride me really hard when you get back' actually made me laugh out loud.
I may be a bit biased for getting four good Servants in all four of the classes that I didn't have a gold in out of the event, though. Chiron, Achilles, Sieg and, with a couple of summon tickets fed into the Black faction banner right at the end, Frankenstein. I am going to need so many more XP cards for this...

i never realized that when you used fujino's NP, the enemy is falling off the bridge. most enemies just look like they are more debris from the bridge collapse, but the grail is a huge obvious ball.

For all of us Fate fans here, i've made a thing in the Homebrew Design section: Fate - Beings of the Grand Order.
It's a Pathfinder conversion of various enemies and monsters in the Fate series, including FGO.

Pretty nice, although I'm constantly searching for which system would be good for playing a Fate/ campaign.

Re: Fate/Grand Order IV - Are you my Master? [Rerun - Lite]
Yeah, it's been a good event. The only thing I'd change is to lengthen the raids on the first day or two so that more people have a chance to do them, and maybe I'd extend the rewards latter for the coins so people can continue raking in the QP and ascension materials. I'm disappointed that I failed to get Achilles, but certainly cannot complain about what I did get from the event banners.
Like everyone else, I've made a lot of great progress thanks to the massive infusion of QP. Sadly I'm now short on several key materials - I can't ascend Mordred past 70 til I get some more Octuplet Crystals, for example, and I still need massive amounts of several other things (some of which I can farm in the event, some I can't).
Also, apparently I summoned a couple copies of Prisma Cosmos somewhere when I wasn't looking, so that's a nice find.
-
Re: Fate/Grand Order IV - Are you my Master? [Rerun - Lite]
Yeah, I'd have liked there to be more QP on the silver coin ladder, especially given how many coins you get while clearing the shop. I'm at 3 million, and it's just a bit of a waste. (Only a few gems left to grab, and then I am done done done.)

Re: Fate/Grand Order IV - Are you my Master? [Rerun - Lite]
I am my own worst enemy, i decided after getting the CEs and a few things out of the shop as well as the points items that i didn't want to grind this event. The this weekend i decided to grind up two more servants and now i need the fou cards from the shop as well as more of the skill gems...
Even though i have been desperately light on new gold servants at least it will feel like i have gotten a couple new ones with circi and minamori trained up. also facepalm on not training up minamori when i was complaining about a lack of decent single target sabers... i kinda forgot i got him, not sure when i got him either looking back, i just know it wasn't recently.

Re: Fate/Grand Order IV - Are you my Master? [Rerun - Lite]
You play with 200% attack power for a few days and then when you go back to a non event mission you forget that as much as you like that character they are not that powerful actually...

Ugh, I made mistakes during the challenge quest and had to use 3 command seals like a scrub. I should have replaced double merlin with waiver merlin instead. Just a bunch of mistakes all around. =( Amakusa I'm too used to invincibility + defense boosts getting me through the game.

It's only 5 AP though, you could've tried again without losing much.
I found you could do it quite easily with an AOE Berserker. You need to avoid taunt and damage the Ruler, Lu Bu or Kiyohime can do that without much help so long as they've got the MLB event CE.

Re: Fate/Grand Order IV - Are you my Master? [Rerun - Lite]
New event has Kotan Magatama! I've been stuck lat lvl70 for Tomoe because i needed 7 more of these things for a long time. I have no idea where i got the first ones i had for her but now the roadblock can be over. Hmm and i need a bunch more for Kato's skills later on.

Re: Fate/Grand Order IV - Are you my Master? [Rerun - Lite]
The event has Stakes, which I still need for Eresh. Who is getting a lot of work dropping Nobu into the underworld while I farm Shinsengumi points.

Re: Fate/Grand Order IV - Are you my Master? [Rerun - Lite]
Once I get all the steaks for this event I will be able to finish ereash's skills by the end of the month! Then I only have to do it all over again for fugino

I hadn't even noticed there were Stakes here! Eresh will hit her third 10 this time~ Having Magatamas also help.

Re: Fate/Grand Order IV - Are you my Master? [Rerun - Lite]
I just got Eresh to 9/10/10. Thankfully there's also +20 million QP on the prize ladder so she'll be completed by the end of the event.
I was using the few days prior to the event to farm Stakes in order to get enough to be exactly at 72 if I picked them up from the daily tickets for the rest of the month, and I had just reached that goal when the event showed up. Still, now I can focus on Hearts and Feathers.
Also QP, obviously. always QP.

Yeah, I wasn't lucky with those stake drops in Salem :smallfrown:
I'll just have to keep it up, I'm 22 away from her completion (except NP5, but come on, that's just not gonna happen)~

Re: Fate/Grand Order IV - Are you my Master? [Rerun - Lite]
Sitting at 140 stakes, dont see what everyones issues with them are. I even have Fujino, Circe, and Sheba yet im swimming in them. Its always Eresh this or Eresh that. I admit I spent for a try for Eresh myself and came up with my 4th copy of Ramuses II as well as 3 SRs. But I really just dont get the hype. She just seems like a more support based Lancer Artoria. Between the 3 SRs i need stakes for I think im in more need for stakes then eresh ever would need.

Eresh is a cute bean with a beautiful smile she needs to be headpatted.
Also each of Eresh's skill takes 72 stakes to level up.

With Circe, Sheba, and Fujino, I needed 492. That's more then double Eresh's number. Speaking of said stakes, I now have 32 remaining. Leveled Sheba's skills to 6/6/6. Just need 328 more, if I ever bother getting Fujino and Circe to max skills. 180 each, its a real grind that I likely wont ever need as I wont likely ever get them that high in skill levels. Though Fujino might tempt me, Circe is outclassed by me having some far better casters. Even at NP2, she doesn't do farming like NP2 Nitocris can, doesn't support like Helena or Gil can, and doesn't do damage like NP4 Sheba can. Its one of the main reasons I have a Edison sitting around at level 13 ignored. He just doesn't do anything that I don't have a far better caster for. And this is all ignoring the Elephant sized ego in the room that is my Nero, who rules my caster line up like the star she is. Once I get a few more Grails, shes next in line for some lovely leveling to 100.

Re: Fate/Grand Order IV - Are you my Master? [Rerun - Lite]
Eresh is very flexible. Her NP gain is awesome due to her hit count, her crit-star generation is also quite good, she's solidly tanky, and provides multiple layers of buffs on relatively low CDs that work for all types of Servants in any team composition. Everyone can use +20% defence, +3000 health, and +30% NP gain even if they don't need that +20% attack bonus on her NP. Put her with low star-weight Caster supports and she can generate the crit stars to get that substantive damage she needs while also making the supports more survivable and even better at their job.
I especially like her with Waver - which isn't surprising admittedly - as you can easily time your CDs so he gets his combined 50% NP charge and she gets her mana burst to perform immediate back-to-back NPs with full brave chains with all the buffs applied on the final wave.

Well, I have ereash who is the most demanding on steaks, I also have fujino, circi, and Sheba. And I plan on maxing ereash, circi, and fujino since I enjoy them as characters. And taking six months to max the skills of one character is kinda rediculous. Especially with others waiting in the wings. Last time that happened was when the game was New and the materials weren't available in the game and only in limited quantities from events.
On Sheba don't get me wrong she's fun but also a bit annoying so i will probably level her eventually and increase her skills to 6 if she is leveled, I have the mats and she is an event servant. Or I use her one day cause I am board and find I like her in combat like caster Gil.

Besides the Buffs, Lancer Artoria does pretty much all the stuff you said. Which is why I called her "Support Lancer Artoria".
I got Lancer Artoria off a ticket, on her Debut banner, and have since had her be my first Level 100, my primary AoE lancer, and in general second favourite character in the game. Her story in Camalot helped set up her as a powerful dangerous figure, then her interludes helped sell her actual self as a serious but caring person. 90% of peoples issues with her come down to two very noticeable design choices, which is more an issue with the artist then with her character. Her alter version has a lot more attention put to them in terms of events due to showing up more in them, but for Lancer Artoria herself, there's only a single line calling attention to them, and then all her other dialogue is of a serious but kind and caring person. It becomes clear her actions in Camalot are the Goddess twisting her compassion for others into an inhuman corrupt version, as the best corruption is the one that builds off what is already there. Which far more puts her in line with existing lore of how gods are meant to act and behave in the Fate Series. Babylonia's goddess's are FAR to human compared to what all the other Fate works have set them up as. "Oh but its because they are fused with humans", doesn't at all work cause Rhongomyniad worked the same, overriding an existing human, and making them act more like a god. Eresh did not act at all like a goddess as they had been set up in Fate series before it. She was far to compassionate, too caring, and too shy to be a proper God in this setting. When Rhongomyniad was mostly a corruption of Lancer Artoria's base character, Serious being turned Cold and Distant and Caring turned into what her whole plan was, and it being hammered in "she acts this way BECAUSE shes mostly a Goddess" then following it up with Eresh the Moe Blob who tries her darnedest to help humans cause she cares for them, it feels real off. The real drive behind that was they had split Rin's character into two, her Tsun side being Ishtar, and her Dere side being Eresh and it really ruined the image of goddesses in the series when one is all "b-baka" and the other is tripping over her blushing self to help people.
In terms of mechanics, she has one of the highest base NP Gains in the game, with a built in 10% buff to her quick cards, easily gaining huge chunks of NP in a AQQE chain, which if any of them crit make her third skill near redundant. That third skill being a 50% battery, along with a Debuff Cleanse, removing anything that might hinder her power. A high natural HP helps with her lacking any defensive skills, but with a 50% Buster Boost(hello Merlin for doubled Buster Damage and even more HP)(Almost like he was meant to pair with most of the Artorias) on a 5 Turn cool down along with an 18% party wide attack boost means her NP can hit for a very solid chunk of damage, which as anyone who went through Camalot knows bypasses survival skills with its Ignore Invincibility, which is very good when a large chunk of common boss archers are known to spam Evade. Combined with her skills having sane levels of relatively common materials means shes very easy to get those skills to max. And lets not forget to mention Waver being just as good at boosting Lancer Artoria as he is Eresh, as he goes amazingly well with just about any character that has a 50% NP Battery. Heck, Lancer Artoria goes well even with Skadi on a non 3 turn team, as when not spamming Lancer Artoria's NP, you will be relying on her Quick Cards to boost with that insane Base NP Gain. Which of course opens her up to Crits as a lovely side effect. Along with a NP Refund built into the NP, Lancer Artoria can chain her NP very well, sometimes barely even needing any support, assuming you get the right cards of course.
And of course all this is just stupid Waifu Wars between two people who have one, but not the other, and don't get the hype behind the one they don't have. And in my case it might be a little Bitterness as I spent 100$ on Eresh's gacha, because OF COURSE I'm going to roll for that cutie who needs headpats. But the darn gacha took my money and gave me Circe, Caster Gil, Medusa Lancer, and my 4th copy of Ramses II. So there might be a little Bitterness there, and making do with what you have.

That's fair. The vast majority of this is indeed Waifu Wars, because at the end of the day this is a Waifu Battle Simulator.
I will disagree somewhat with those who praise Eresh's mechanics. She's a good support Servant, that's true. She has an on-command +DEF/NP gain/Max HP buff, and on NP she applies a +ATK buff. That's certainly nice, I do like it. But support Servants are all a dime a dozen, at this point, and you need something else to shine. And this is where Eresh falls short. Even with her steroid, her NP damage is so-so for a 5-star. And her base ATK is disappointing for a 5-star. Despite having that NP gain buff, she is dependent on Arts support - or the presence of an NP charging support Servant - to charge her NP while her Big Red Button is on cooldown.
She's a 5-star. She's good. And she's a precious cinnamon bun who needs headpats, and I love her. But she is far from the be-all, end-all of Servants in terms of the mechanics. She lacks the damage output of Musashi - or even Lartoria. She lacks the OP utility of Merlin. She's not the ubiquitous Waver. She's solid, she's durable for a Lancer - no "Lansaa ga shinda" for her - but she's not mechanically amazing.
Still love her, though.

Re: Fate/Grand Order IV - Are you my Master? [Rerun - Lite]
I'm happy. Decided i would make one roll on the banner for Helena and Lo! she was the first card out.

Yeah, that's pretty much why I only ever spend money on the guaranteed SSR banners. It's just not worth gambling with such low odds of success. That $100 doesn't even give a 50/50 chance of getting one copy, for reference (according to the Fate/Save calculator, it's about 37.5%). The odds are bad. It takes 300 SQ to get a 50% chance, and 1000 SQ to get a 90% chance.

Except for that 100$ I did get 3 SRs and a SSR. Heck, I got a non rate up SSR, meaning it was even less chance of getting that particular SSR. And as anyone who has played the game long enough, if you look at crit chances, odds are really weird. I have had, so many times, a line up of crits being something like 20,40,80, and the first two crit and the last one doesnt. Its really weird when you end up thinking that a 20% chance to crit is more likely to crit then an 80% chance. And there's a never ending deluge of people who will always mention pulling such and such SSR off a ticket. Have had that happen to me so many times. Throwing monthly tickets at a banner has gotten me Medb, Cu Alter, Lancer Artoria, and Meltryllis just off the top of my head.
What I'm saying is "never tell me the odds" and that you really don't need to spend 1000 SQ to get something, just a smallish amount and hope the dice rolls a 6. And when all that fails, just wait for the GSSR and roll then.

Oh, yeah, if you don't care much, your odds of getting something are a lot better than your odds of getting the one SSR that you want most. I was mostly talking about approaching the game as a reliable way of getting specific characters. I think, on average, you get about 1 SSR for every hundred pulls you make, and one SR for every 25 or so?

I'm in a dry spell of 100 pulls with no SR or SSR. However I had a period where I got 3 or 4 SSRs in around 100 maybe a bit more pulls.
Also as someone who has worked with statistics. Remember past success and failure has no bearing at all on the next roll.

Re: Fate/Grand Order IV - Are you my Master? [Rerun - Lite]
The gacha was kind to me yesterday. Since it's Okita's final rate up, I decided that I had to attempt to get her.
Over the course of 400 quartz, I got NP2 Jeanne, Scheherazade, Hessian Lobo, and finally Okita.
