And that is news we like to hear!

Huh, I can't believe I managed to get a comic done this week. My weekend's going to be a work-filled hell, but it was going to be anyway. Anywho, enough with the blathering!
#162: Any Fresher And She'd Be Alive (oh, wait. :smalltongue:)
Lol. The disembodied hand on the poster in the background gets me every time.
Also, the guy doesn't know what a familiar is? And it's an opera about a mage?
That's funny. The clerk reminds me of the customs lady at the Citadel in mass effect 2.
And some of our work-filled hells have been significantly brightened by the update, so take pride in that. :smalltongue:Quote:

Fly Blackwing fly! Get away from the magic blue-cloak hand guy! Fly away birdie!
And PLEASE tell me normal cat-people don't try to get into fancy opera-style things with a cat on their head.:smallwink:
She's heard of familiars but isn't quite sure exactly what they are, and so she thinks Serrin's trying to sneak in her cat.
Aww, you're welcome! And nah, I just recolored a character model.
Mutant Sheep, that raven is Isarus' familiar. Heh, funny you should mention Blackwing though. If the bond between Blackwing and V is like the bond between master and familiar in this world, then that would add a whole new level of Fridge Horror to their relationship.
Wow, I can't tell what's lower, the clerk's Spot check or her Sense motive check.
Both tied to WIS, bro. That is still relevant.Quote:

"Familiars: When Jiminy Cricket goes weird on you." Nice. Or am I even on to anything at all with this? I mean, "fragment of my soul" implies that it's actually some small part of her, and the sort-of-theme we have with familiars being a little bit of a foil to the linked spellcaster in personality hints at the ritual of gaining a familiar essentially extracting some manner of previously non-dominant strand of character and putting it into an animal shape - meaning the titular infirvention of "Infirvention" would be a literal manifestation of Serrin's (conscience? sense of modesty? voice of reason?) acting up in times of stress or great inebriation - as per "You've had enough!" - And Iris' shouting in the "Familiar Occurence" one would imply that smile of Saphrin's being at least close to one of the Stepford variety to a (less-than-astute?) psychologist. :smalleek:Quote:

Also, just something to point out - there's a typo in the first speech bubble. When Tinder says "will", it should have two L's, not one.
fridge horror?
Ha!
Bingo! But no, Saphrin's smile wasn't of the Stepford Smile variety. Iris is just the loudmouth part of her, the part that gets a kick out of being really, really snarky and rude.Quote:

The Fridge Horror I was talking about with V and Blackwing is...well, look at their relationship before the whole Darth V attacks Xykon thing.
...well, on one level, does this mean that before Fir, Serrin was less hyper, cause the sensible part of her was in her? :smalltongue:
And I guess the fridge horror would be that V didn't care about his conscience. He ignored that part of him because he didn't think it mattered.
Putting hats on people is practially our hat. Why are you surprised by this?Quote:

Also, bluff checks for fun and profit.
I have now added Blatant Lies to the growing list of tropes on the page. :smalltongue:
Hey guys! I should be able to update late tomorrow, but I won't be able to do anything beyond the Friday update, even though it's Thanksgiving weekend. My professors decided that it would be a wonderful idea to give me an essay to write, another essay to revise, a powerpoint presentation to make, and a math prelim to study for over the break. :smalleek: :smallmad:
And besides, what free time I have will be taken up by Skyward Sword. Sorry, guys.
Don't kill yourself doing this, Coffee...
Ugh, now I don't know if I can get this update up today. I'm not even done with the first panel and that took so long my battery's almost drained (I'm on a bus; I can't charge it).
Listen, Coffee. We're not gonna hunt you down in the night just because you didn't get an update on. Take your time; we're patient Playgrounders. :smallwink:
Yeah, Coffee, we won't kill you if you delay updates, so you don't need you kill yourself first trying to make those updates on time. Frankly, the only reason NaNoWriMo hasn't killed me yet is because there's more caffeine and Airborne in my veins than blood. As soon as December 1st rolls around and I stop pouring those drugs down my throat, I'll probably crash.
No, wait...I'll have to wait crash after finals are over. Looks like I'm not done drowning myself in coffee just yet.
Wait, just a random thought: does Coffee like coffee?
