I'm more of a fan of Master Max than Madam Min. Can you imagine if they had a kid?

If it means absolutely nothing to you, then why not say nothing? Why be openly combative? Frankly, it just makes it come off as though the new evidence threatens you somehow.
If I may: its not that you are being a bad person now (you've been quite polite and I appreciate that). Rather, its that last time you were...less than exemplary, to put it lightly. As such, we all are worried you might make the enviornment hostile again, and thus we are all on edge and ready to deal with the possibility of you doing so.

Let me put it this way. Its such a minute and inconsequential piece of evidence that it barely merits the term. The naga that youre pointing to is not a Ha-naga, and "what does it look like" was not a problem to begin with because we don't actually know it. Im legitimately confused as to why you think its even meaningful its that completely unhelpful to confirming or denying anything. If im coming off as hostile, its because you've been arguing in what I perceive to be bad faith and are now coming back in to try and restart a fairly settled argument with absolutely nothing new to bring to the table.
Bringing in random data is not in and of itself actually helpful, either. As has been noted, lots of creatures can/do have yellow eyes, and there are plenty more that don't have eye color called out as a specific trait, or a consistent one (humans don't have uniform eye color after all). Saying that such and such creature matches a pair of superficial traits of the MITD does not actually make them candidates, let alone good ones.
Also, and this is just a personal criteria, I think Rich drawing it outside of one of his patreon requests is a point against a creature, because it would spoil the reveal if people had already seen it somewhere in other merchandise.

Unrelated: Anyone know where one can find the diet of a monster? Most things eat meat, but are there any monsters that mostly fit but are vegetarians (or some more exotic diet?).

Not sure Madam Min is related to Madam Mim. (And didn't they name their kid Squeeze Theorem?)

I dunno, but when the kid was a baby, he was a cute little munchkin.
If you guys are talking about real people I'm so sorry

Squeeze? Imean, I was taught they gave the kid a sandwich, but that really pushed my limits.

No kidding....I heard that they decided on Asymptote originally, but as the due date approached it turned out to be a line they just couldn't cross.

On inflection, they could have turned it around.

Okay, this is a whole other tangent now.

I am not going to let you pretend that the hostility flowed in only one direction nor that it originated from me. I am certainly not the one pointlessly bringing it up now.

1. The Ha-naga is a naga. Look at the image, pretend it's pink. Boom, ha-naga.
2. "What does it look like" is the primary question of this thread.
3. No argument is "settled" until the reveal.

It's not random data. It's data relevant to an active theory. If the protean was published in one of the season books, I would fully expect someone in this thread to point it out.

It took 5 books for the naga to be drawn, and as I've said I believe we're drawing close to the reveal. I see it as an 11th hour hint. Plus, it's easier to hide in a crowd.

If it's mentioned it's usually mentioned in the fluff section, usually right beneath the stat block.

If you want to put forth a motion for a different topic, I'll cosine.

That might have been integral in the long run, but it'd sure sound derivative at the time.
(If someone's still at "MitD should match the depiction in a Monster for Every Season", I should point out that the glabrezu has red eyes, and black and white slaad limbo toads have yellow eyes with well-defined black pupils.)

Personally I just look at everything logarithmically.

What do you base that idea on?

Well it's certainly scientific, let me tell you that.

Your logarithmic thinking isn't natural, I tells ya!

Re: MitD XIII: Learning is happening
I guess every character that has red hair is evidence they are related to Haley, too.
Also, we don't even know for a fact if MitD has yellow eyes. It's what we see, sure, but yellow stands out nicely against black so it could simply be an art choice (similar to Rich's explanation for using the blue and orange barriers for the Clansmoot).
I want to be clear that all I mean by the above is that yellow eyes aren't necessarily a point in any species' favor; I feel it's such a small detail that even if the correct monster does have yellow eyes, it's not something I'd have listed as a "pro" because I likewise could see it just as easily having black eyes when the reveal happens.

On a not-that-tangent thought, has anyone noticed any monsters drawn in-comic with the wrong color eyes?

I hope you are not surprised when I mention that Rich felt the need to spell out on the forum "Haley is not related to Girard Draketooth" to forestall people speculating about how she survived Vaarsuvius' mass murder.

Specifically, in the discussion thread for 816:

I don't normally say stuff like that so bluntly, but I thought it best to nip this one in the bud. Haley is 25 or so, Penelope's daughter would be 15. In fact, I put the line about it being 15 years in specifically to avoid people speculating that it was Haley.

Oh, that's specifically the scenario I was thinking of when I made the comment. Back then I was a lurker without an account thinking "There's no way I'd sign up to be a part of this level of craziness!" Oh, how times have changed.

1. When did he confirmed that?
2. Surviving Familicide doesn't mean they're not related. For all we know back then, Girard's human female ancestor could be a Starshine.
The plot is already left them behind, so they're probably not related after all. That doesn't mean that it was a dumb idea to believe that they were related.

Same. But I learnt to embrace the caziness.

Re: MitD XIII: Learning is happening
martianmaster: Afaik, Rich didn't explicitly say that Haley isn't related to Girard. What he did say is that sometimes characters have similar hairstyles because there aren't many different hairstyles he can draw in a stick figure webcomic. Haley doesn't have a tattoo on his face though, so she's probably not related.
