I fully concur - but again, D&D is far from the most egregious defender in this regard.

So the avoidable incongruous result was acknowledged yet willfully ingested anyway. Got it.

Most, yes - but not all. And again, this approach allows things like fire resistance, Absorb Elements, even interesting counters like Tomb of Levistus etc to play a role.

There's Air Bubble from Spelljammer, and Air Genasi probably wouldn't be too chuffed.

This is where a 10th+ level moon druid is a boon. "I become an air elemental and let everyone chill in my oxygen rich environment". That's a ruling isn't it... air elementals can't actually do that, right?

Why bother? An acrobatics check solves that problem apparently.
Re: Counterspelled Booming Blade
What's the DC? Even on a 10, you're going to slowly take damage... any higher and the poor folks who tanked their Dex are going to be hurting. Sure, 2d6 is a lot less than 18d6... but you're probably going to be inside the elemental for more than 9 rounds ;)

Yeah.
It's a passive aggressive check... :smallamused:

Which I failed until after I posted, and then re-read Amnestic's post a second time... Makes sense though, my aggression is pretty low, so my passive aggressive check is likewise.
