Re: Tales of Revelia: JRPG-styled Fantasy Webcomic
Sorry that was more than a few days (I consider "few" to mean "at most 3"), but nevertheless it's here! Instead of an apocalypse, you get a comic.
Good thing for that fourth panel I remembered how to use perspective lines and a vanishing point or the inn would have looked a lot more crooked.
Additional news, I posted in my submission to the Unofficial Best Playground Avatarist Competition II thread pictures of the other future members of the Tales of Revelia party. If you don't mind spoilers and can't wait for me to get to them in the story, you can go take a look, since now that it's up on the internet I really have no way of concealing their existence. But you can't really talk about them because I haven't listed any names. Anyway do what you will.

Re: Tales of Revelia: JRPG-styled Fantasy Webcomic
You know, I always wondered that about the inns myself. :smallwink:

One room doesn't always mean one bed, Ben.

Re: Tales of Revelia: JRPG-styled Fantasy Webcomic
Waiting for the inevitable opening of a cabinet with 7000 gild and armour.
Also, aren't all storyline visits to inns for free?
Oh, will we get skit convs?

It lives!
IT LIVES!
Get the feeling I'm going to highly enjoy the first panel of the next strip.

Re: Tales of Revelia: JRPG-styled Fantasy Webcomic
Inns in Symphonia were always a good place to run into the Wonder Chef. Is there an equivalent in Revelia?

Character will wake in the middle of the night due to the horror of killing living things?
Hyper-resonance lessons with Aria on the woods in the middle of the night?

Re: Tales of Revelia: JRPG-styled Fantasy Webcomic
I wonder how it feels to experience the Inn transition as a character. Though our Inn-experienced newest party member probably is a bit preoccupied with the situation to pay attention. ^_^'
Great comic, Teutonic. Looking forward to seeing what happens next in Cousentine's cuisine of culinary quests.

Re: Tales of Revelia: JRPG-styled Fantasy Webcomic
An update on my progress. As I slowly go through what makes a Tales game a Tales game, I got myself a tablet and am relearning how to draw trace over my scanned low quality hand-drawn sketches. Coloring my pictures is fun though.

Re: Tales of Revelia: JRPG-styled Fantasy Webcomic
To showcase that I'm not dead, I present images for your enjoyment.
The first one, I whipped up a long time ago and it looked weird for some reason, but had some good things about it. The second was one I whipped up over the past week of Spring Break using a different drawing program. I second one needs the shading that the first one has, and the first one needs to be redone in the new drawing program with proper black outlines (which I remembered I drew without black outlines because the old drawing program had low quality black lines that would make it difficult when I needed to remove the white background, or something. It made sense at the time).
Note how my drawing style has improved with a little help from line smoothening.
Now you know what's coming up, so stay tuned. I'll try to work as quick as I can before school-related stuff kicks back in.
Also these images are not final, but in case you've ever wanted to know how I imaging my own characters to look, now you know. And now you also know their eye colors.
I also just realized that for some of you this will be posted on April Fool's Day. I assure you that this is not a joke.

Are you going to disappear again when Tales of Xillia comes around this summer? :smalltongue:

I'll try not to. :smalltongue:

Re: Tales of Revelia: JRPG-styled Fantasy Webcomic
Yeah, but it looks amazing.
Also, you'll probably get a bit of a kick out of this: I'm running a game right now which is basically an unconnected prequel to Murphy's Law. It's called Tales of Aequar.

Teutonic Is Back!
Celabrations!!

Re: Tales of Revelia: JRPG-styled Fantasy Webcomic
Huzzah! You're still around! I was getting worried.
That art is quite good. I especially like the second one thanks to the nice, solid lines.

Re: Tales of Revelia: JRPG-styled Fantasy Webcomic
It's alive! It's alive! Muahahahaaaaa!
...*cough* Anyway, what I mean is that I found this comic late last year, and am glad to see an update. Keep up the good work.

TEUTONIC LIVES

One of the best comics on this subforum.

So what you've been doing? I was hoping if the church is actually evil or morally ambiguous.
P.S- Did you play Fire Emblem?

Thanks for the kind words everyone.
Yes I have been playing FE:Awakening.
The church will remain a mystery for now, but just remember that this is a parody comic. :smalltongue:

In addition, what is your opinion of the migrating Brony hordes (or settlers, based on whether you like MLP or not) in this websites?
P.S- When will we get a new comic?

New comic, I'm aiming for sometime within the next two weeks but this quarter starts a writing intensive class, so we'll see how much time i have to work. I'll try to take some little shortcuts to make the art come out faster. Not that you should all hate me for taking shortcuts, I also feel like I've delayed this long enough and I can always update it later. I just want to get the comic out at this point.
For MLP, I have not watched the show, and as for the Bronies, I have no quarrel with them, as I have an extensive definition of "fans" and would not want to seem like a hypocrite for accusing them of liking something too much.

Re: Tales of Revelia: JRPG-styled Fantasy Webcomic
I'd rather not get into a discussion of my fandom, myself. I don't see how it's relevant to the current situation, and in any case, I don't want to be flamed.
Anyway! Comic! Yes! A comic would be good. And shortcuts aren't necessarily bad. If you find ways to make things easier while not hurting your art quality, I'm all for it. Best not to stress you.

This story looks good. I hope this won't be discontinued, or I'll be terribly sad.

Not to worry, but I took a peek over at Coffee's thread, and she seems to also be balancing comic and college, so yeah. School unfortunately has to take priority over comic. Of course remember that it doesn't mean that I'm not working on the comic during school. :smalltongue:

I shall wait for it, then.

Anybody willing to draw Pony Fanart for this comic? Teutonic told me that it's okay.

I'll give it a try sometime.

Re: Tales of Revelia: JRPG-styled Fantasy Webcomic
Let me just say before everyone thinks I'm a brony, I'm not a brony. I respect the show and its fans, and am fine with my work being associated with MLP. Because what isn't nowadays?
And while I'm here, progress is slow. After this weekend, I should be a little more free again to work on the comic (been busy straight for the past three weekends). If I can take a break from Bioshock Infinite and Star Wars Saga Edition, that is.
