Re: [Nexus] Underside - The Second!
"He is called Krone" Sornnolu explains, putting a soft accent on the e. "And he has carried me for a very long time." The drow pats the side of the bit lizard's neck before taking up the reins, and soon Krone carried them off into the steets of Underside. The reptile's gait was fairly smooth, though it did tend to have a bit of a side-to-side rocking motion to it.
Should nothing eventful happen, they should make it out of the city and through the tunnels to the surface just fine.
-
Re: [Nexus] Underside - The Second!
He's really nice.
She will be carried to the surface.

Sam's head gets sawn in half!
Gore everywhere!
The thing staggers back a few steps, staggering drunkenly. Surely this will kill it, right? There's no way anything could survive having its head cut in half.
...
Jagged teeth just sprouted out of both sides of the fissure running through Sam's head. And a bone-spike on the end of a tendril just exploded out of the maw with speed that would put a armor piercing bullet to shame.
Aiming to punch straight through the robot's armored body!
"Okay."
-
Re: [Nexus] Underside - The Second!
[Warcamp]
"Oof." Followed by a gurgling sound and spitting follows the spike puncturing the armour and goes right through his chest.
Suddenly he wrenches to the side, possibly snapping the bone spike, and trying to smash Sam with his claw.
-
Re: [Nexus] Underside - The Second!
[Warcamp]
Wuh oh!
Sam made a hole in the armor!
The spike itself isn't terribly large. Just big enough to blast a hole of any real size in the ork's power armor. And as soon as it does...
The shape shifter's body seems to liquify and surge along the tendril's length. Unless that ork reacts pretty darn fast he's going to have some company in there with him!
The claw smash puts a nice big bleeding gouge in Sam's flank, but the thing really isn't too worried about that at the moment. More interested in flowing into the tin can and then growing in size several times over.
Explode the thing from the inside out.
-
Re: [Nexus] Underside - The Second!
[Warcamp]
For a long while all that can be heard is muffled shouting. That tin can is tough. Sam's gonna have to grow pretty big before it pops. It's inevitable though. When it does it flies apart at every seem. Chunks of metal fly everywhere, some knocking other orks right off their feet.
As for the ork inside, well, it wasn't only metal being thrown around.
As for the watchers that never got knocked off their feet? They're having a grand old time. That was a hell of a fight.
-
Re: [Nexus] Underside - The Second!
[Warcamp]
Oh those silly orks.
Well, if nothing else they got to have some fun watching an amusing fight. To most other species there might bit a bit of concern over a fallen comrade. But to him? He went down fightin'! And it was a good fight to.
So no loss, right?
In the midst of the wreckage is a bloated mass of fangs and tendrils and twisted limbs. Faces and eyes and mouths and... other things that aren't so readily identifiable.
And then it all bursts like an over-ripe melon struck with a hammer.
SPLOORCH!
Standing in the middle of the holocaust of gore and flesh and fluids and fangs is none other than Sam, looking human and runty again. As the shape-shifter steps out Sam idly stoops down and snatches up one half the dread's claw and shoulders it like a massive axe with no show of effort.
The meat quickly begins to dissolve in a quite disgusting fashion, leaving a bounty of quite exotic looking teef strewn about the ground. All the while Sam smiles that cruel smile. "Well. Wasn't that fun, hmm?"
-
Re: [Nexus] Underside - The Second!
[Warcamp]
Wartarg approaches Sam, a toothy grin greeting her. "Good fightin. Ya look runty, but yer orky too." Sam has received an honor without compare among orks.
-
Re: [Nexus] Underside - The Second!
[Warcamp]
Wow!
That's quite a commendation coming from an ork!
Sam simply shrugs. "I was made to fight. And I was made to win. And I was made to grow tougher. It's what I do. And I do it well."
Huh...
That sounds an awful lot like what Orkz are for now doesn't it?
Kind of makes one wonder where Sam came from in the first place.
But there's little time to consider such things! Sam is eying the grots with beer. "How do you get a drink around here?"
-
Re: [Nexus] Underside - The Second!
[Warcamp]
"Grot! Beer!" A few grots approach with the finest squig beer. These tankards are as big as the grots themselves. Must be back breaking to carry. Wartarg hefts one and starts guzzling it down at an an astounding pace.
-
Re: [Nexus] Underside - The Second!
[Warcamp]
Mmm...
Squig Beer!
Not sure how that would work given that beer is brewed from starch and squigs are...
Well...
Not starch.
But regardless!
Sam will chug as well! The shape shifter certainly looks bigger than a grot at the moment, but the size of that tankard just seems awkward. Doesn't seem to bother the thing all that much, though.
-
Re: [Nexus] Underside - The Second!
[Warcamp]
Wartarg finishes his beer without stopping for breath. He carefully puts it in the grot's hand... then boots the runt across the cave. Boy that was far. There's a roar of approval from the nearby orks.
He gives same a look as if to say, top that.
-
Re: [Nexus] Underside - The Second!
[Warcamp]
Wartarg kicked that poor grot!
How could he do such a mindlessly violent and cruel thing?
...
Yeah, that's a dumb question.
Upon finishing the beer Sam simply places the tankard on the ground and... well... Doesn't seem to do anything. Nothing at all. Not even looking at those nervous grots that know a grot kicking contest when they see one.
The only warning they get is a brief rumble from below before a massive fist roughly six feet wide explodes out of the ground aiming to upper-cut one of the poor things into the stratosphere.
Or...
Into the ceiling. Probably into the ceiling.
-
Re: [Nexus] Underside - The Second!
[Warcamp]
That sure gets the orks riled up. The grot is nothing but a smear on the ceiling. A hell of a kick. Of course the remaining grots are getting wise now. They run for it, but they have the misfortune of being among the orks. Normally they'd get away as the orks continued their drinking, but there's one last kick left.
An unfortunate grot is snagged as the others flee. An ork holds it by the legs and waits.
Clang thump clang thump clang thump
An ork walks into veiw, pushing his way through the crowd. He's a big one. Over eight feet and covered in burns and battle scars. The source of the clanking noise every second step soon becomes apparent as he enters the clearing around the grot. His right leg from the knee down is a mechanical replacement. The foot is what truly draws the eye. What can only be described as a rocket is attached to the end of his leg. "Roket Boot." Wartarg informs Sam.
Roket Boot pulls a pair of dark goggles over his eyes. He leans over and strikes a match to his rocket foot. Then with no hesitation, he closes the distance to the grot and kicks. The rocket ignites, sending Roket Boot into a triple back flip, which he lands on his feet remarkably. As for the grot, all but it's legs are completely gone. Said legs are left in the ork's hands who was holding him. If Sam looks close enough, she might notice the small hole in the ceiling. Until that chunk of the ceiling breaks away and crushes a building. That was some kick.
-
Re: [Nexus] Underside - The Second!
[Warcamp]
Those poor, poor grots.
At least they've managed to gather the good sense to run the hell away.
Sam leans back as the rocket-kick connects, watching the poor goblinish thing go flying off into the ceiling. And a chunk of the ceiling dropping to the cave floor.
Seems no one is terribly upset about that crushed building.
Probably just have the grots make another, right?
"Well. That was amusing," the shape shifter sneers in a rather unpleasant fashion. "So... what else do you lot do around here? Aside from fighting and drinking of course."
And kicking grots.
-
Re: [Nexus] Underside - The Second!
[Warcamp]
Aside from fighting and drinking?
...
"'Side from fighin an drinkin?"
Hm, I don't think he knows either. It's almost as if that's what their entire society is based off of.

Raz swiftly catches up. He looks around.
'The hell are we going? This place is ... big'
He pauses and looks down.
I'm gonna need ... hold on
He mutters some more arcana, and his trainers pop into existance. He quickly pulls them on, and returns to looking at Morgana confusedly.

"We are going to to where the great work began." She smiles pleasantly at him. Might be a bit perturbing. She walks closer to him and tries to put her arm around his waste. "Teleport as far down this tunnel as you can."

Raz flinches for a moment, but then returns her hold almost unconsciously. He seems a little less lucid than earlier. Perhaps its proximity to the oil again.
He nods, and the two are teleported to the end of the tunnel.

[Tunnel]
Morgana will ask for this several more times, directing him down the correct tunnel each time. It's an absolute labyrinth, each fork having no less than four options. Some go left, right, up, or down. No matter what it'd be near impossible to get their without knowing where you're going.

Raz follows her lead, taking her where she directs. Subconsciously however, the part of him still able to resist takes careful note of the directions.

Re: [Nexus] Underside - The Second!
[Tunnel]
Morgana will guide him by foot for the last stretch of tunnels. Here the tunnel walls are slick with the glistening, black oil that Raz is all too familiar with. The step into a large cavern. "Welcome home, Raz."
The far end of the cavern is filled with a great, metal vats, dripping from the sides with oil. Standing protectively over is is a huge monstrosity of metal and flesh. A vatmother. Skittering over the walls, floor, and the edges of the vat are numerous servitors.
The vatmother watches them carefully, ever vigilant.

[Secret Lab]
After several weeks, Omega has finally completed his testing of Morbit.
Poor Morbit is probably the worse for the wear afterwards.
But his masterpiece is now complete!
Omega cackles maniacally as he throws the switch and the guy who is most certainly not Frankenstein comes to life.
http://www4.images.coolspotters.com/...er-gallery.jpg
See?
Not Frankenstein.
"RISE MY MINION, RISE!! MWAHAHA!!"
Omega needs a hobby.
Morbit will likely be thrown out by the next morning, his usefulness at an end. He doesn't even make a very good test subject, nor meal for other projects Omega has going. So into the trash and out the door for him!
Not Frank, heads towards the surface at about the same time.
-
Re: [Nexus] Underside - The Second!
Secret Lab
If only Morbit had some way to warn the world at large! Oh well, it'll survive somehow. Unless it doesn't, in which case I win that bet I made.
It would also require Morbit to be awake whilst it observes the process. Artificial lighting just isn't as sustaining as natural light, and Morbit's photosynthesis isn't the most efficient.
Anyway, goodbye, secret lab! Or not. Maybe something interesting and tasty will leave, either thrown out the same way as Morbit or an escapee. Besides, if Morbit's thrown onto a rubbish heap there'll be free food for a while whilst it regains its strength.

[Tunnels]
Near an entrance to the Overworld (and also in a small twang of continuity from GLoG), Jamie pauses as she starts into one of the tunnels.
Adventure called her here! Who knows what she'll find.
-
Re: [Nexus] Underside - The Second!
[Tunnels]
Oooh. Adventure.
Jamie might run into that big, ugly looking guy in that picture just a few posts above this one.
He, for his part, stares at her with what could possibly be deemed curiosity.
-
Re: [Nexus] Underside - The Second!
[Tunnels]
Jamie might...and she might go "eep!" too!
"Eep!"
She jumps back in surprise!
Blinks.
Then offers a tenative wave as she collects herself.
"Um...hi?"

"Hello probable humanoid child."
The creature says.
...
Staaaaare.
Though the stare is not empty. It seems to be analyzing her.

Re: [Nexus] Underside - The Second!
[Tunnels]
Jamie huffs!
"Hey, I'm not a child! Well, I guess compared to you I am. My name's Jamie. Jamie Misaki Catherine Druid. Do you have a name?" she asks, curtseying.
