Re: [Nexus] The Black Dragon's Den IX
Karyana nods, and shifts into the Execuloth's arm.
"I know you will, Tsiln. And thank you. You're one of the better friends I've had..."
She doesn't actually say, or intend to imply, 'better than Ashley', but it's fairly obvious she feels that way anyway.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Black Dragon's Den IX
Tsiln rubs her back.
I do what I can...
We should get your and Zwei's minds off this, I think.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Black Dragon's Den IX
Karyana smiles, barely.
"Agreed... The thing is, how?"
-
Re: [Nexus] The Black Dragon's Den IX
Hm...
What do you and she like doing together? And should I stay with you two a few days to make sure you're okay?
-
Re: [Nexus] The Black Dragon's Den IX
"We were hanging out in Outside a lot at one point, and going around my Forest... Other than that, it was mostly snuggling and talking, with some curtains thrown in. And if you don't mind, you coming to stay with us for a while would be great.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Black Dragon's Den IX
I'd love to... And just spending time and talking might do the job nicely.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Black Dragon's Den IX
Karyana nods, looking uncertain.
"I think it would, if you can get her to converse..."
-
Re: [Nexus] The Black Dragon's Den IX
Alright then.
She smiles hopefully.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Black Dragon's Den IX
Karyana returns her smile, somewhat. Admittedly, it's still not a normal smile, but it's not as faint as before, at least.
"We should probably get back, then... Zwei's probably going to wake up soon anyway, and I want to be there when she does."
-
Re: [Nexus] The Black Dragon's Den IX
She stands.
Let's go then.
She pats Karyana's back.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Black Dragon's Den IX
Karyana stands as well, and drains the rest of her drink, before heading for the door, likely still pressed against Tsiln's side.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Black Dragon's Den IX
Tsiln comes back to the Forest with her.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Black Dragon's Den IX
Somebody careless seems to have left a rolled-up scroll next to a set of keys on one of the tables. The scroll is old, tattered and looks vaguely important. The seven keys in the set are made of several different materials, all attached to a large brass ring. The largest is made of troll bone, the smallest is made of platinum. One is carved of green copper ore-malachite. One is made of magically-hardened wood. Another is made from iron, starting to rust. Next to it is a key made of granite. The last key seems to have been carved from a block of quartz.

Re: [Nexus] The Black Dragon's Den IX
A flash of light outsdie the Den's doors heralds the appearance of Erin and, presumably, Lellienth.
And Erin will go to open the door and lead the way in.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Black Dragon's Den IX
Lellienth follows her in, grinning, and, unless Erin does so first, goes to head for a table. Probably the one with the scroll and keys.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Black Dragon's Den IX
he Inspector walks in again. He's on yet another mission. It seems his first one was rather successful. The Inspector sits at a chair and looks around at the pair of people that walked in in front of him. His tiny mechanical cockroach crawls out of his boot and turns invisible. It heads off to follow the pair of women. Who knows? He just might get lucky.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Black Dragon's Den IX
Erin follows Lellienth with a grin, the white-haired young woman noticing the scroll and keys! And raising an eyebrow in curiosity. "That's odd..."
-
Re: [Nexus] The Black Dragon's Den IX
Lellienth nods, examining them curiously.
"That it is... I guess someone forgot their stuff? I mean, it's not all that odd for the Nexus, is it?"
-
Re: [Nexus] The Black Dragon's Den IX
The roach begins to use it's advanced ears. Now it's hearing and recording every conversation in the inn. At the moment it's hidden invisibly in the darkness underneath a chair. Thenadier taps his little device disguised as a watch. Scrolls? Hmm...Let's get a picture of those. The cockroach then blinks out of invisibility for a second. It heads to a wall and then begins to let a gooey, sticky substance leak out it's robotic legs. The maecha-roach eventually crawls to the ceiling. Now it's invisibility slips back on. It begins to take pictures of the scrolls and the pair of women. (At least I think that they're both women. Correct me if I'm wrong.)
-
Re: [Nexus] The Black Dragon's Den IX
"More odd that somebody hasn't swiped it already," Erin chuckles, taking a seat.
Erin is certainly a woman. And, depending on what the robo-roach knows, might look remarkably similar to Arina. Except instead of red eyes, she has bright, unearthly blue ones,* and somehow seems more....tangible.
Nicer, too.
* Like the eyes of somebody on the Spice.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Black Dragon's Den IX
The robo-roach most certainly knows. It tries to match her voice pattern with a name. Sadly, it's search doesn't come up with much. Well. It still is sure to take her picture. Well, so far she hasn't done anything suspicious. No reason to implant a tracker chip. Well, It looks around at the various patrons. However, she is most important due to the fact that she approached some scrolls that were not hers. Could be a thief. I wonder if she could be an AMENite. Hmm...maybe HALO has records of members. Keep an eye on her. Keys. The roach takes a detailed close up picture of the woman. From the angle the roach could only see a tip of her head. Well. It moves to the point where it can get her head and face iin a picture. Perfect.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Black Dragon's Den IX
The scroll and the keys remain lying where they are. The robotic cockroach should get a good image of the keys, and determine that they are all for different locks. The shape of each key, like the material used, is different.
If anybody looks close enough at the scroll, they might note that there's criss-crossing lines upon it, suggesting a map more than anything else. Unravelling it will determine the truth of the matter, anyway. Besides, there may be a name on it to see who left it behind.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Black Dragon's Den IX
Lellienth is a woman also, a drowess, to be specific, with a very faint spiderweb pattern on her face; apparently, Din's healing of her scars was only temporary, and they're slowly starting to return, though she hasn't noticed it yet.
If Thenadier has any way to know such things, he might recognize that as a sign of extreme devotion to Llolth, usually gotten by priestesses, though it's usually much more pronounced. Also, she's rather young for a drow; most cities don't recognize one as an adult until a hundred, and she's only about forty or so.
"Fair enough," the priestess replies, smiling, and ordering a glass of Spiderbite Wine. "Especially in here. Though to be fair, anywhere in the Nexus it's pretty likely your stuff won't be there when you get back if you leave it somewhere."
-
Re: [Nexus] The Black Dragon's Den IX
"Either through sticky fingers, or through having grown thousands of tiny legs and scurried off on its own?" Erin suggests with a grin as she orders her own drink - a Black Shadow.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Black Dragon's Den IX
"Or maybe both," Lellienth agrees, grinning as well, and going to slip an arm around her companion. "And in the first case, it's probably literal, and maybe even accidental, half the time."
-
Re: [Nexus] The Black Dragon's Den IX
Reinholdt arrives here! Looking around, taking a seat and ordering some rum.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Black Dragon's Den IX
Erin chuckles, leaning against her companion, and sipping her drink with a pleased shiver when it arrives.
"You know, I think you might be right..."
The Apocakitteh's arrival merits a raised eyebrow!
-
Re: [Nexus] The Black Dragon's Den IX
Lellienth also takes a sip of her drink when the server brings what they've ordered, though hers simply being toxic rather than magical, it doesn't cause any effects at the moment.
"You know him?", she asks, noting Erin's raised eyebrow.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Black Dragon's Den IX
Ah. Well. Thenadier's spy roach is distracted from recording the map and looks over at the cat-man thing that just walked in. The mecha-roach takes various pictures of him and attempts to read his essence. (Which is about the same as an effect of detect alignment, so unless Reinholdt's mind is magically guarded the roach will try to determine his alignment. The roach will then send the info to Thenadiers device. Which is also recording the conversation between the two women.
Thenadier sees the facial marks on Lellienth. He has spent many years learning how to identify powerful people, so he definitely knows what the marks mean. This unnerves the normally solid Inspector. He reacts by merely taking out a book and stating to read. He's trying to remain inconspicuous. However, you'd think he could have changed his clothes...He's wearing his long, navy, and gold trimmed coat and tall black boots. He has on his sinister top hat and his long grey hair, tightly placed in a pony-tail falls down beneath the hat. The Inspector's gloves cover his hands. You'd think he would change into something else...such as a plain shirt and pants...Not fancy suits and golden belts.
Thenadier figured not many people knew him. That was good. Well, the mecha-roach begins to take some more pictures of Reinholdt as it records and checks his alignment. The invisible mecha-roach hangs from the ceiling. It's The Inspector's most useful piece of equipment. Apart from his pistol.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Black Dragon's Den IX
Reinholdt is immune to alignment detection, because for the most part, his players characters don't use that system. They are unaligned.
That said, Reinholdt does have a certain level of infamy in the Nexus. He has caused a great deal of trouble in the past. Something about... you know... trying to destroy the entire multi-verse and his son causing untold grief for that purpose. He is at GLoG redeeming himself, but that's probably not as well known. Nor is the fact that he's not even the original Rein, but a clone Magtok made. So he hasn't actually done those horrible things the first one did.
He hasn't noticed Erin yet.
