Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XXV: The Future (Imperfect) is...Soon
Basically, they'll be comics explaining what ABR is, how to join ABR, and some basic guidelines.
EDIT: I'm amazed everyone's so flattered by me asking to use them in the introductory comics. You WANT me to butcher your characters artisticly??? :smallwink::smalltongue:

I have no problem with Lying being used in one of the introductory comics.

It means that you think that our characters are synonymous with ABR.
It's really flattering actually. So yeah! Use X2 to the best of your abilities.

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XXV: The Future (Imperfect) is...Soon
Just so everyone understands, for the most part, I chose ABRers I felt were very old and had been here for a long time, but were still semi-active, hence TS, Lying, and KP. Nameless has also been around since near the beginning, and both he and Q have personalities that are comedy GOLD. As for X2, I thought that since he was the creator of TJH, he also made a good choice.
EDIT: Ninja'd.

Once again guys, sorry I've been absent, but I just got WoW and I like it...
(that's right all you gamers, I like an MMO!)

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XXV: The Future (Imperfect) is...Soon
MMO's aren't bad, just as long as you don't start obsessing about them. Especially WoW. :smalltongue:

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XXV: The Future (Imperfect) is...Soon
In the distant future all of ABR should take a break from our respective plots and do a sort of Crisis on Infinite Earths deal.
That would be made of win.

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XXV: The Future (Imperfect) is...Soon
Eh, I'm drooling over an MMORPG that probably won't be out for another year. Then again, since its bioware* making it, that's a bit more understandable
*Bioware made Mass Effect, The Baldur's Gate Saga, Neverwinter Nights, and Knights of the Old Republic, plus a few others, Most of which sit at the top of a very tall pedastel, with Baldur's Gate 2 being at the top- BG2 is one of the top 6 games of all time, up there with Half-Life, Half-Life 2, and The Orange Box. All have a 96 Metacritic score.
I'm talking about Star Wars: The Old Republic, in case you didn't figure that out.

And then, with a mighty roar, the coversation died.

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XXV: The Future (Imperfect) is...Soon
I played WoW once, I was a Blood Elf Mage named Simbelminos.
I think I was around level 30 when I realised that nothing at all changes until the endgame.
Now Starcraft, Team Fortress 2, etc. Those are games that continue to hold my attention, because your strategy and personal skill can change a lot rather than frostbolt+fireball+fireball+blink+goto 1

You pulled the knife out of its back.
Apparently it has Wolverine's mutant healing factor.

My life for Aiur
I think I actually had more fun with WoW plotting out what my endgame character would be than actually getting them there. (Ice (almost) all the way)

Well, WC3 is an RTS (real-time strategy) so there's not really much comparison between that and WoW...

Well, this sucks. :smallannoyed:
I got my braces off last week, and this morning I noticed a brown spot on the back of one of my molars. Looks like the orthodontic hygienist people broke a huge chunk off my teeth when removing the braces and didn't tell me. :smallmad:
I'm just lucky it doesn't hurt too much yet. :smallfrown:

I think we should just use the creator of each plot (not the comics, the actual main storyline)to explain his plot. KPen for FFF I (as all TS and Salmon did was do the first comics, while KP came up with the idea), MM for FI, TS for Sea Scoundrels, Q for SW, X2 for TJH, etc.

Maybe as a sequel series.

Well, huge is probably an overstatement. But it's still a sizable chunk of the tooth.
At first I thought it was a cavity, but then my dad looked at it and said the brown stuff was actually my soft tissues showing through. :smallfrown:

I only got a very very vague idea about what the heck that is.
Also I got bored with woW long ago, before making it to level 30.

At this point, the various plots will be explained only briefly, with a basic blurb by... someone. Maybe X2.

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XXV: The Future (Imperfect) is...Soon
Well I'm back and wow has it been a bit of a disorienting day.
So of course today was August 20th, aka Results Day, so I was up bright, early, and lightly pessimistic about what I was going to get, so I spent an extra hour or so in bed than planned but I was still up around 10.
Heading out, I didn't notice the big brown envelope from Tesside Uni with my name on it, but mores the better I guess.
Entering my college building to get these results I was at least glad to see little had changed from the last two times I've had this day (First and Second year, this being my unobligatory Third)
Now, to get into my placement at Teesside I needed the equivalent of 2 C grades and 1 D grade. I got 2 D grades and 1 B grade, so initially I was a bit deflated and wandered into town to look around and deposit some cash for my upcoming trip.
On the way home, Solero icecream in hand (Meh, I missed breakfast and needed something cheery, despite the heavy rain today), I considered probable statistics, just as I had done during my ICT exams (Which, oddly, were both D grades), and considered the possibility that the dip in grades on one end could be equal or less than the rise in grades on the other (Ie. I might have gotten different grades than intended but still managed the tariff points to get my Uni place). I couldn't remember the numbers for what grades equalled in points, but I considered the odds pretty good that I'd, rather oddly, made it in regardless.
So then I get home and finally notice this big brown envelope sitting in the kitchen. So thinking they've been a bit optimistic or their system is continually inefficient, I open it, not expecting much.
Apparently I've been accepted and they're congratulating me on my exam results.
...
...
Yeah, I was quite flummoxed, especially since it was dated 2 days ago. But they've named me specifically in these papers, the specific course, they've sent all the stuff I need to enroll straight away, without even the slightest mention of what to do if I haven't gotten the right marks. Either they're being unbelievably optimistic (Which would mean they're doing the same for every single applicant) or they've gotten the exam results ahead of me (Would make sense) and have done the math I haven't.
So...hurrah, I guess.
Yeah, it's been a disorienting day. :smallconfused:
-
Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XXV: The Future (Imperfect) is...Soon
...Congratulations, I guess. :smalltongue:
If you got early acceptance that means they must really want you. :smallwink:

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XXV: The Future (Imperfect) is...Soon
Is it bad that when I saw WoW i thought X2 was talking about Call of Duty: World at War. (even though that has an a instead of an o) And it took me ages to work out what you really meant.
Thats assuming you are talking about World of Warcraft . :smalleek:
