Morph- with the increase in population, you may want to double-check the militia rules. 20% of the population called up with a single action? So with my 87000 population I get 17,000 militia?

Bleh. Work. Sleep. I finally fixed my post in the Cantus Sai thread and am working on the new four. :smallcool:
The GiantitP forums are running very slowly for me. It's not my internet either... Sometimes it's just not loading, so I might take a while to post /anything/. I have no idea what the problem is!

I know I'm being a little bit of an ass but you may want to cipher 'home base' a little better. Even using a simple cipher with perhaps the key '5' or something alongside making the individual words backward and jamming them together. It's regrettably obvious.

Wow. My family tree started with the Last of Her Line, so it was /really/ easy. Then she only had two children.
Ashenia's first ruler had seven and I expect the majority of them are married by now! \witches\

That's a fair reason and probably why a lot of flags are the way they are. Sometimes meaning is derived from something and sometimes something is derived from meaning. It's no big deal.

Oh, of course! Maybe we should make an alliance, like the Snow Pact or something. (Heh heh, I made a pun! :smalltongue:)
To be honest I don't plan on taking the faith score much higher than 5 unless something falls into my lap or it just starts flowing naturally. The five is for a Holy Order, hopefully. Might as well be the first one to actually use that feature, eh? :smallwink:

I dunno if Lorelle would take that as a sign from Yphine. Especially with the weird mind control going on in front of them.
Also, please take control of Scale as much as you want. You would certainly be better at RPing him than me.

That's totally fine as well. If you think Scale's religious maybe he does. Or you could just ignore it and do other stuff. You are holding a religion thingy next round so you can develop Yphine there. I just wrote... stuff... EDIT - Its function was less to throw you a bone and more to help develop the effects the half-breeds have to deal with really. The chill thing that happened is some sort of unexplainable thing and unique to Scale.
Nah, he's your citizen and I have no idea how the Sycian culture would've affected him. He's been there for four years after all.
Well if that isn't a done deal I'll eat my shoe.

I'm super confused. Maybe I'm not understanding what's going on because I don't really understand what exactly Scale being a halfbreed entails past him being a halfbreed.

It's fine because nobody does yet. This is the first time it's been brought up aside from the fact nobody respects them.
So, uhh... Feel free to just do whatever you want coz it doesn't matter much in the long run anyway.
Also, I know you think my dudes are scary. Are you still up for a trade and defense pact?

I believe so yes. I'm going to write something eventually. Apparently you can go as fluff, but have to spend an action to do things that would normally require an action.

45.000 is rounded up to five max. I've done it that x0.000-x4.000 doesnt give an extra unit, but x5.000 till x9.000 does. So you get to keep your 5. :smallcool:

I suspect that as part of the diplomacy actions that end the war, you could contribute names for the war memorial.

Seriously though morph, looks good. New clarifying rules are good things.
The etymology might betray her. Or the references of her name. TEN COOKIES TO THE RIDDLE-SOLVER :smallwink:
I'm thinking of giving a bonus to claimants who only have one region yet, as well as claimants who don't have a Great Kingdom and the target region is adjacent to one of theirs. Perhaps also allow neighbouring regions to support claims regardless of whether they have claims or not.
Basically, Diplomacy is now truly for political games--essentially chessmasters. Military is for logistics and shows of power--essentially players who like shows of force. Curiosity is for traders and scientists--players who like to explore and build. Faith is for the metaphysical--players who enjoy philosophy and mythology. Luck is something you probably shouldn't base your country around.
Possible new stats would be Intrigue--for players who like secrecy, blackmail and betrayal--and Magic--for players who are really wanting to get into the fantasy part of the game. I'm seriously considering putting in Intrigue next round start and giving all existing players 1d4+1 in it. I'd ask new players what kind of playstyle they prefer, so as to pair them up a bit with similarly-minded players (or players who are entirely different in playstyle, depending on what they are). Not too much though, because playstyles and mindsets change over time. It just seems to me that some players really dislike Intrigue-like bits, while others love it. And some are really into Faith, while others do very little with it. I figure I should put at least some Intrigue-minded players near one another, while Faith-minded players should be spread out. Militarily-minded players should probably be close in the understanding that they're more likely to play against one another rather than build max-cap aerial unit armies and steamroll the world; especially since the most Curiosity-minded players like the majority of the Dawn League players dislike war, though in case of the Dawn League they're not necessarily shying away from Intrigue. The GC players seems to be very anti-Intrigue, while ImperatorV, Rain Dragon and tortor would like to do things with it, though each in different manners. Diplomacy-minded players kind of can go anywhere.
I think I sorta got the gist of the situation with that, playstyle-wise and what players desire to see most out of the people they interact with.

Changed your region from 59 to 52. Which means that technically it doesn't have a western border like the terrain mentions. :smalltongue: By the way, do you have a name for the region itself, rather than the name of the country? (Kind of like how the United States of America is a country, but California is a region in it.)

Yyyyes. (Math + late = slow math.)
Keep in mind that they only function for one round, which is the round after they are raised. They also can only function in the region they live in.

Anyway, here's my thoughts, in no particular order.
"Geographic Limitations of the Western Informational Hub" is quite the mouthful to say, and reads more like legalese than a halfway useful name. Also, when you start talking about their borders, everything you say is redundant because your nation is apparently named specifically after said borders. Also your nation is in the Far East, so describing it as "western" is a touch odd.
Also, just saying that your people are hard to find isn't going to deter invasion or even necessarily slow it down. That's not really a complaint, but it's something you should know, since based on the write-up you seem to be banking on the idea that your people are a bunch of mysterious secret agents or something and nobody knows how to find them unless they want to be found. Hidden Elf Villages don't work so well when you don't have magic to hide them with.
Presumably the description of "baser...more 'native' cultures" is from an in-character perspective, since saying that from an OOC perspective would strongly imply that your race really was somehow more civilized and special than everyone else's. If so, that's fine, but it's a little odd that the next paragraph IS clearly from an outside perspective which can be jarring to a reader.
Also, note that your nation probably won't stay mysterious for very long if you do a lot of trading and communicating with other people, and if you don't do that you'll most likely suffer a swift death. Bit of a catch-22 there.
As a final note, I'd leave "Lesser Tieflings" out of this, simply because we're not dealing with D&D here. You can't really be a "lesser" anything if there isn't something else to compare it to, like "Greater Tieflings" or standard Tieflings. In fact, where does the name Tiefling come from, anyway? Why not simply call them "Fiend-Blooded" and let Morph figure out where that fiend blood came from anyway, or perhaps come up with an original name and see where it goes from there?
Anyway, I'm not much of an authority on anything, so these suggestions should all be taken with a grain of salt. Cheers!
Thanks for the input, I grabbed the Tieflings for flavor, the post is a bit of a jarbled mess tbh, and I am very aware that the terrain gives no innate bonus to defense, however I needed an IC reason for settling [b]59[b] (I'm getting my **** togeyher... slowly but it's getting there.)
Also, what if anything do landmarks do,
Also, thanks again for the help... still figuring out how to do this whole living thing againnnn...

Well, the title is French, the first name is clearly Japanese, and the surname is...something. It's pretty close to the Hebrew Shimone or the Roman-derived Simona, but it's hard to say for sure.
If we assume that Shimona is a Salterri name or similar, perhaps she's a descendant of one of the captured Kasumori Explorers/Soldiers from a few turns ago when the Salterri first appeared, now living in the (not-quite) Celerese territory to the far south?
Celero seems to have at least a few minor french influences as far as I can tell, so this makes sense to me.

You can't, but only if the ruler in question is the one doing it. The rules are curiously silent on whether a convert nation could do such a thing, which suggests that yes they can given the lack of an exception. :smallwink:

Re: EMPIRE! Community World-Building Game III: Prepare Your Inbox! (Messages Are Comi
Intrigue feels kinda like diplomacy to me. I mean, I see the difference but it seems like adding it as a stat opens up more subdividing of other stats. Curiosity becomes Science and Architecture. Faith can become Religion and Philosophy. I mean, I know those aren't likely needed but adding the stat seems kinda like it could fall under diplomacy. On the other hand that may make diplomacy too strong. I don't know, just rolling ideas around.
Also, Morph, I apologize ahead of time for the headache my latest PM will no doubt prompt ;P

If it's to have its own system though it'll make Diplomacy have two sides whereas other stats don't seem to. Though just the stat by itself, hmmm... I'd have to think about it, but things like assassins are intrigue-military actions rather than intrigue-diplomacy actions. I can think of a couple of intrigue-curiosity things, but can't find the right words to communicate them and am /not/ entirely sure.
Oh good grief I hope it doesn't affect me negatively...
Also Quinton, I posted my response in the Cantus Sai thread to you. Unless you want something else, can I post the terms under my action? If you do want something else of my resources umm... I guess spices are cool, but I don't think there's anything else.
