Nah, more like they are all related in some way with a pure-blood oni, and they end up much bigger due to relation.Quote:
Erm, what? Are you saying Onis go around mating with female humanoids, and the kids end up huge?

Oh ... I think we would've of heard about them by now, but who knows. So, Fishman Island arc seems to be taking a long time, but it's actually going pretty fast. Faster then Alabasta anyway. Anyone think that Luffy and the gang will actually ever GO to Elbaf?
Probably. But, there is still plenty of stuff Oba still wants to fit into his little creation, so there is always room for more powerful foes for luffy and co to face.Quote:

Anyway, it may take another year, but we will get there. The land of fighters would be the perfect place to put some super-powerful normal humans before the last few arcs, at least.
Heck, who says an evil giant dictator hasn't taken over since Dorry and Broggy left? All characters from Elbaf we've met haven't been there in YEARS.
Also, was just going through the OP Wiki and say this ...
... ROFLQuote:
According to Oda, his [Enel's] appearance is heavily influenced by the American rapper "Eminem" who also happens to be one of Oda's favorite artists.

Here's a question up for debate.
Dwarves and elves have been mentioned as being in the One Piece world, but what do you think they're actually like? Are they typical Tolkien-esque dwarves and elves? Or something else? Like the dwarves being gnomes or hobbits or munchkins, or the elves being fairies or Santa elves or Keebler elves or what.
Lovely. Being a minkman slave must be a very short life, I assume.Quote:
Okay, I just double-checked mangareader.net, and it says Dwarves and then Minkmen where I remember seeing an entry for elves, so I think I just read a different translation first.
I'm gonna go with what is probably the most common response here and say Enies Lobby. I thought that the timing of Nico Robin's flashback along with Luffy declaring war on the World Government was impeccable. Even Usopp got a chance to shine, in a scene that really gives me hope that he'll surpass Van Augur in sharpshooting skill. And the entire arc wraps up with Oda somehow making me cry over a boat! So yeah, I really liked the Enies Lobby arc.
Technically, Gekko Moriah is a human. Given his astounding height (He's over 22 feet tall!) It wouldn't surprise me if he had some sort of giant blood. It would actually be kinda funny if he was somehow a distant relative of Oars and Oars Jr.
Obviously, the Dwarves are a carry-over from the fact that the world of One Piece is a homebrew campaign setting using modified D&D 3.5 rules. Duh, I thought everyone knew that! :smalltongue:
Honestly, I have no idea what Dwarves would be like in One Piece.
While there is better arcs, the Arlong arc is rather close to my heart. It was one of my first tastes of manga, and it is still entertaining to read over.Quote:
So what're y'all's favorite arcs? I think my favorite is Impel Down
Nah, this is all realy taking place on the other side of Arthas. All that water had to go somewhere, right?Quote:

They look like mini Usopps. Every.Single.One. Complete with the rastafarian garb. Turns out that dwarves are good with any long range weapons, from long-range rifles to slingshots. Quarter-humans share this trait, as well.Quote:

As for elves, they all have a very thin layer of soft fur. Fur that is prized for its softness by nobles. Hence the name minkmen.
I dislike double postings but it's a new chaoter and except a weird hint from Hachi concerning Hody's identity/powers we get some stupid fishmen being stupid (yeah, head into the battle and get killed, the kids as well, why not!) we get some Strawhats bashing fish pirates. Even Robin joins in on the fun and Zoro is going to get serious.... Damn you idiots, you are not supposed to break that bubble! I want next chapter!!!! (also, no, he knows no fear)
New chap' y'all.
Nothing significant plot wise, but that special feeling OP gives you is present, and the action is building. Sadly, no real news on Hodi.
New chapter, mostly set up for things to come.
That said, my favorite arc is the Whitebeard War. Or is that rolled up with Impel Down?
yeah me too, it was a little weird
Quite late, but regarding last chapter:
SpoilerHey lookCaptain Fodderer,Hammond, okay, Fodder (doesn't deserve "captain" title) is back.
Nico Robin in sunglasses. She looks great in them.
I'm actually kinda curious about how heavy Dosun's hammer is. I kinda wonder how heavy it is compared to Mr. 4's bat. It would really hammer in the point of how much stronger the Straw hats have become that Chopper would be able to tackle such powerful attacks now head-on.
Did Zoro just slice all eight of Hyouzou's swords both vertically down the blade and horizontally at the guard?! Zoro, you are scary!
I am just a bit disappointed, though, because Hyouzou seemed to be the only member of the NFP that was even a little bit competent.
New Chapter
SpoilerRobin X Jimbei is now a ship. I'm calling it Slaveshipping. :smalltongue:
Surprise, surprise, Brook and Ussop are badass.
Hody's true face ... is circumstance? That's really depressing. :smallsigh:
New chapter:
SpoilerNico Robin continues to look fantastic in those sunglasses. Oh yeah, her flower clone power is being used really well so far.
So, Brook infuses his sword with his own soul to make it emit a deathly chill? First off, no wonder he is called the Soul King! Secondly, it's really interesting to see the Yomi Yomi no mi being used in such a creative way. I still wonder how Brook would interact with Blackbeard's power, though. After his recent displays, I'm inclined to think that Blackbeard touching Brook would simply force Brook's soul out of his body. It's certainly a much better option than having Blackbeard's touch instantly kill Brook.
Awesome! Hody is not getting some sort of sympathetic backstory! He actually makes Van der Decken look sane by comparison. At least I can safely hate Hody now.
Spoiler
Robin's powers eem kind of abusive by now... I guess the one thing thatkeep her in check is the reach of her abilities (which seems ppretty big if we take some movies into account) since she could just have doubles do EVERYTHING for her...
Brook and Usopp are badass. Yomi Yomi no mi should be Tamashi Tamashi no mi by what we know of it's powers now but... hey, whatever. SOUL KING!
And... well, that's an anticlimax... so Hody's true face is, he is a ****. Awesome.
Spoiler
I love Usopp's whole "Yeah, I've detriorated over two years. I don't lie as much as I used to, because I can actually do those things now." Badass. And to think he's still the WEAKEST of the Straw Hat crew.
Brook: "And since I am dead/I can take off my head/to recite shakespearian quotations..."
And Hodi's true form is a *gasp* one-dimensional character?!?! DUN-DUN-DUN!!!
Personally, I found the revelation about Hodi much better than any of the alternatives I was imagining.
