Not everyone. Some people have crippling cases of tuskmouth.

Has Mookie considered nametags?

That would require him to actually give people names, though. :smallwink:

So that wouldn't really solve anything.

Ok, since no-one else is doing it:
Sneaky gate
Link to the future
I started this week liking where this was going. The whole bubble-shenanigan was above the usual DD standards. But nothing good lasts. This update just annoys me. Story of DD I suppose.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXV: DJ Callan Turns the Tables
Oh boy. A Friday cliffhanger with a Celesto ass shot. What a surprise.

Dun dun DUNNNN!
Seriously, anyone who didn't see this coming, please grab your coats on the way out.
I don't understand what Luna means in p.3. But she's great, so she must be right. It's probably important.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXV: DJ Callan Turns the Tables
At least Mookie remembered that Quilt actually met Celesto at one point, so we didn't have to bounce around several redundant nodes like a hacker trying to avoid the FBI. Small mercies when Mookie managed to pad the objective "Let's find Celesto by scrying on him" out to two whole weeks of nothing.
And this is how the week of Dominikudigan ends:

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXV: DJ Callan Turns the Tables
"Brooklyn Destruction" sounds like a pro wrestling event.
Also, something about Luna's new outfit bothers me, but I can't put my finger on it...

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXV: DJ Callan Turns the Tables
South Korea's occupation, Serk Brakis kill you, and Luna can manage most of her career.

The fact that, though the idea of mages wearing leather armor is well-grounded in the collective unconscious (hm. Is it just me, or does nobody in Dominic Deegan ever wear a full suit of armor, all at once?), the idea of a mage wearing a leather jacket stresses the genre-ness of DD even more than it already was?
I mean, that is a leather jacket, right? I can't figure out what else it would be.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXV: DJ Callan Turns the Tables
Oh no! Celesto ships Helixa/Jacob. The fiend!
-
Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXV: DJ Callan Turns the Tables
Silly Quilt. You don't need to know what Hell is. You're already there.
At least, so far as I can tell, you are. One featureless white void is as good as another, right?

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXV: DJ Callan Turns the Tables
I wish Mookie would stop these effing Friday cliffhangers, does he realize all he's done for this week? Quilt looks into a crystal ball, THAT'S IT, that's all he did this week, all that **** about Pam's ass, is inconsequential to the plot, all it does is lead in to looking for Celesto, which was what they were trying to do in the first place. QUILT LOOKS INTO A ****ING CRYSTAL BALL FOR 5 ****ING PAGES ARRRRRRRRG
Mookie, atop of the anatomy lessons you desperately need, please look for lessons about PACING. :smallfurious:

Panel 3 is an insult to both basic intelligence and humor.
It's seriously Mookie telling us that this connection between Quilt and the Chosen makes sense because Luna says so just accept it okay!

When you initially inputed the text, did you misspell chosen as chosun (an archaic name for Korea back when it was one country) by any chance?
As for the comic, panels two and three confuse me.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXV: DJ Callan Turns the Tables
Anyone else getting a Family Circus vibe from the big circular bubble-panel with nekkid Celesto?
-
Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXV: DJ Callan Turns the Tables
So a week where NOTHING happened whatsoever? This is a new low even for Mookie.

Quilt hasn't been looking at a crystal ball for a week. He's been looking at pipe bubbles for a week. I'm not sure if that's any better.

That might be it. It's very urban fantasy, and Luna's no Harry Dresden.

When worded that way, it sounds as if Luna and Quilt are going on a trip through a drug-induced haze...
...Which...makes a surprising amount of sense. :smalleek:

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXV: DJ Callan Turns the Tables
Now, Jacob x Helixa is true love, but Momma Deegan is one of those psychotic mothers who don't think any woman in existence is good enough for her first born. (Because the first born is always the best. *says a first born himself*)
So their romance was tragically cut short when Momma Deegan brained poor, innocent Helixa.
That first battle against the Deegan family? That was just Miranda overreacting to an early courtship. Blighting Gregory so Jacob would have something to experiment with in his journey to becoming a Necromancer. Granted . . . Helixa likes to start the courting while her paramours are young, but she waited for Jacob to reach legal age before resuming the courtship.
-------------------------
Anyways . . . I hate this comic so much. Luna is just terrible with her blatant BS and one just has to wonder just how screwed up her perception of reality must be.
But mainly I hate it because the comics preceding today's updates were some of the most disgustingly obvious lead ins (worthless and needlessly dragged out padding) created for no other reason than to provide one of those retarded friday cliffhangers.
Mookie's sick obsession with making every damn friday a pathetic and forced cliffhanger is really intolerable.

Nope, it can't even claim that point of distinction. Remember Maltak?
Full agreement with Shogo; this whole shtick of basing the comic's pace around Fridays is just intolerable. I really wonder if Mookie wouldn't be better off falling back to a M-W-F schedule until he kicks the habit.
Not even going to comment on the comic itself any more. Luna is still Luna, Bubbles are still bubbles, this arc is still a waste of goddamn time.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXV: DJ Callan Turns the Tables
Oh calm down you two, it's just guy butt. No need to be so shocked. Luna you see a bigger ass every day.

Not even then. Plot was just minuscule (Nanop Sized). Here its the same thing OVER AND OVER.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXV: DJ Callan Turns the Tables
I thought that maybe I'd gotten it wrong - and Dominic said "Nobody could foresee" what happened in Lynn's Brook because THE BEAST, so uh maybe that's why you can scry on THE BEAST and Celesto and what have you (you just can't predict the future as it relates to them). But the next comic makes it pretty explicit that if you're using Second Sight, you can't pick them up.
Also magic works funny in the Wild Edge.
New fanfiction time.
Dominic was just wrong, and he's been making up excuses. It all started when Greg was like "Hey Dominic I want to go to Lynn's Brook, can you check to see if anything bad's going to happen?" and Dominic said to himself "I could care less, I'm just going to stare at this cue ball for a second and tell him I did a magical check, how will he know the difference?" Then he went back to drinking, or whatever Dominic does during the day now.
And then later when everyone was crying because WHY DIDN'T YOU FORESEE THIS Dominic invented this crazy story about things being unscryable because something something THE BEAST something something, and since nobody else has Second Sight they all had to just take him at his word. Until now! When the comedy relief character has blown the lid off of all his deception!

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXV: DJ Callan Turns the Tables
RE: Luna's outfit
I kind of like it, only because Luna's outfits are the only time Mookie tries to make something look nice. Everyone else wears a t-shirt and jeans.

Guys, don't you see it?
Luna is Dominic's equal, and is all aggressively domineering and passively sexual at him. Now she's wearing a jacket...
Celesto has been here all along! He must have done off with Luna at some poin and taken her shape with alterism. It's not an illusion or enchantment, so Dom couldn't see through it.
Luna suddenly grows a brain, and Dom takes a liking. One day, they will make out, Dom will pull his head back, open his eyes, and see Celesto.

Fixed so the pacing issue becomes obvious.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXV: DJ Callan Turns the Tables
Have we *ever* seen Luna wearing pants before? That's what's bugging me about this outfit.
Not that women shouldn't wear pants or anything, it's just weird to see them on Luna.
