Right, so, as some of you are aware, I am working on a thing. As usual, I am making a big deal about it while being incredibly vague.
At one point, someone who knows nothing about Exalted but whom I consulted for general ideas suggested that I have voice acting for the thing. I dismissed it since keeping a bunch of people on-call isn't really viable, but I don't necessarily have to have voices all the time. I can save voices for special occasions and have it be a special thing. If it works out in the first place. So I'm here to see if it will work out in the first place.
So basically, I am holding two types of auditions. Go ahead and host your auditions for either wherever is most convenient for you.
The first is the general audition for every role except the main character. I'm not going to be particularly strict about the general audition. You can submit however many auditions as you want for as many characters as you want using whatever ridiculous voice filters you want. You can audition for a canon character or as an OC, since there will be a few characters unique to the project whose personalities I only have the barebones for anyway. I'll let you choose your own lines, but try to have at least a solid minute and a script which really brings out the character's persona.
Before you ask, SWLiHN will be typecast by whomever does the best GLaDOS impression. Likewise, Kejak and Christopher Lee.
The second is the main character audition, and my using voices at all in the project depends on whether I can cast someone as the lead. I am going to be a picky jerk about this role for obvious reasons.
Information about the character, for reference:
- Female
- Aged late teens to early twenties
- Peppy and upbeat most of the time
- Unstable, prone to bouts of mad laughter
- Know-it-all, somewhat literally
- Tends to overemphasize words at random
- Tries to be sultry but mostly fails
- If Mark Hamill's Joker was a shoujo protagonist
For the audition, I need you to sing Here Comes the Rain Again to at least the first chorus. I will not judge your on your singing ability, as I am mostly tone deaf. You do not need to copy the style of the original; alter it to suit the character as you see fit.
Auditions will close at the end of December, so take your time. If need be, I may extend the deadline (finals and holidays and whatnot).
If you have any questions, go ahead and ask because I've obviously not thought this out.
