I think it was Toby's death that kicked everything off. That is, I think his soul passing, or at least attempting to pass, into the Kirt did something to the first silver.

Yeah. That's pretty much what it is. They've got a busted psychoactive field going chaotic all around them, and Stockyard went and murdered a guy.
Now what kind of emotions and intensity do you think that fed the field?
Yeah...
Honestly, if my arse were in that city, I woulda fled at the first signs of this crud. Where they're going, they won't need eyes to see...

Have fun, Stockyard. :smallamused:

Re: Unsounded, quite possibly the (2nd) best webcomic I have seen.
When I typed my post, I didn't use feedly and thus didn't know it was 3 comics in one. So, I'll rephrase: From bad to worse... for Stockyard and his goons.
As for Sette... Run, girl! RUN! Assuming she can get loose.

Re: Unsounded, quite possibly the (2nd) best webcomic I have seen.
I'm wondering if whoever commissioned the silver expected something like that to happen. Or, rather, if they expected it to happen so soon.

Is that Ana behind Stockyard in pg 85 panel 1?

I think that's just the smoke eels. I think they were already imitating lizards or other two-legged creatures on page 80.
Looking back at the pages, I found Stockyard paying off the lizards for ratting on Toby. And a lizard hearing Toby in the previous chapter.

I don't think so. The silver was already getting out of control here. Toby was still fine then. But, of course, something made Toby's body grab Stockyard's leg.

I think they expected Stockyard to be able to move it and for things to be under control until it got to where it was going. But Cutter basically said that he screwed up last chapter. The person in charge might have known better, but probably didn't expect so much suffering to happen near the silver. I think all of the fighting going on and Duane's training mask just keeps making it worse.

I'm aware it's Anna from blood eels (not real Anna), I just didn't notice they were imitating stuff that wasn't there.
Anyway five bucks we skip to something else soon.

Yeah, I have a small amount of sympathy for the guy. A bit like Wyle E. Coyote, he's just so determined!

Ouch. That's got to hurt. Referring to comic Ch 10, pg. 90.

Re: Unsounded, quite possibly the (2nd) best webcomic I have seen.
Yeesh. At least we can be reasonably sure he deserves it.

It was the minimal level of punishment due to his behavior.

Duane is finally starting to ask the important question. Good on him.

Cheers to that. Lady Ilganyag, the broest of crows (yes, that includes Russell Crowe).

"Death is the gods' crime". That's one far-reaching callback.

Is that one of those sidestories? I forgot where it's from.

Re: Unsounded, quite possibly the (2nd) best webcomic I have seen.
All the way back here. The girl remembers the "Black Tongue doctor" saying that. I don't think we know who it was, yet.

Too far-reaching for me, I think. Back in Chapter 2, Cara said that a black-tongue doctor said it, but I doubt that's what you are thinking of. I think that some of the comments at the comic's website hinted that Bastion Winalils said it (a "Jet") and he practiced medicine in Fachlyne according to the wiki, so he could have even been the doctor Cara mentioned. (Ashley hinted that they might be the same person, I think.) But else did Winalils say it, assuming it was him?
ADDED: OK, it looks like there were some answers while I was writing my comment, but I'm still thinking that Winalils said it sometime in a flashback and that's what most people are remembering.

Re: Unsounded, quite possibly the (2nd) best webcomic I have seen.
I was going to say I wouldn't be surprised if "Death is the gods' crime" is some sort of motto for the Black Tongues, or at least the higher-ranking ones. And that it was given to them by Lady Ilganyag. But Ashley's answer seems to suggest otherwise. Hm.
Bastion is indeed a likely candidate for being the "Black Tongue Doctor" Cara mentioned. Another is Delicieu, the man responsible for the First Silver kerfluffle.

I am sure Sette will free Stockyard to be with silver.

Re: Unsounded, quite possibly the (2nd) best webcomic I have seen.
Something tells me Sette isn't going to like what she finds in those letters.

Re: Unsounded, quite possibly the (2nd) best webcomic I have seen.
BAJESUS. This comic looks fantastic. I like how it's set up. Reminds me of the motion comic in Neopets, with the background area of the comic looking wonderful and suiting.

As you probably remember, she still can't read. What would she do with them? Showing them to Duane would probably amount to painting a target mark on papa Nary. Maybe Jivi or someone can read them to her.

I actually forgot she can't read. Foolish of me. Still, however she plans or manages to learn of their contents, I think she really wants to find out just what her father really thinks of her whether he really just used her as bait to get Duane to Cresce quietly.
