A 407
While I'm not certain the term is defined beyond the basic usage of applying one's Base Attack Bonus plus Dexterity modifier (plus modifiers for size and range if applicable), the Player's Handbook does explicitly call out ray spells as being aimed with a ranged attack roll just like a ranged weapon (albeit typically targeting an opponent's touch AC). The same rules apply to orbs and other "weapon-like" spells that require an attack roll to hit at range.
So yes, a spellcaster should be able to apply that feat to spells provided the spell requires a ranged attack roll.

Q409 (if I'm not mistaken?
The Divine Magician, on CM page 33, reads:

Benefit: You can add one 1st-level abjuration, divination, or necromancy wizard spell to your cleric spell list.
Each time you gain the ability to cast a new level of cleric spells, you can add a single wizard spell of the same level from one of those schools to your cleric spell list.
Emphasis mine.
Q409A: Does a Cloistered Cleric gains two domains? (If so, can he give up the Knowledge domain for porpouse of taking this ACF?
Q409B: If you gain by other means the ability to cast a new level of cleric spells, do you still get the benefict of Complete Mage? (I'm thinking about PRC and Archivist)

The archivist can learn and thus prepare nonclerical divine spells in this fashion but the two free spells he gains for advancing in class level must be selected from the cleric spell list.

Re: Simple RAW Thread for 3.5 #33: Doesn't everything popular die when 33?
A409A: A cloistered cleric is not a cleric (it is its own distinct class), and thus can not take the Divine Magician ACF.
A409B: Yes.

A 409A Contention Where does it say that variant classes can't take ACFs?

I'll admit it's daft, but this is the RAW thread. Some alternate class features require a class feature, which the variant character classes are fine for acquiring. Some alternate class features require levels in a specific class. Divine Magician requires cleric level 1st, and only taking a level in cleric can satisfy that requirement.
From the SRD on multiclassing with variant character classes:

The classes are very similar, and any sane DM will allow a cloistered cleric to qualify for cleric alternate class features, but RAW the classes are not the same. A cloistered cleric is not a cleric.

Q410
Say I use a proficient unarmed attack to start a grapple, and my BAB is +6/+1 but don't have Improved Grapple.
Do I get to try twice using a full attack?
If I do, is the bonus on the grapple check itself on the second attempt 1+STR instead of 6+STR?

Q 411
If a character wielding a greatsword with two hands has girallon's blessing cast on him and uses the extra pair of hands to swing the sword what is the damage multiplier for strength? I seem to only be able to find the 1-1/2 strength for two handing.
Thanks

Re: Simple RAW Thread for 3.5 #33: Doesn't everything popular die when 33?
A410
You can initiate a grapple with an attack, this includes your second attack in the full attack
Though you take the usual -5 penalty to your melee touch attack, your grapple modifier remains the same (str+6 in your case)

Re: Simple RAW Thread for 3.5 #33: Doesn't everything popular die when 33?
A 411
Savage Species, p42 (a 3.25 source, but the only one I know of dealing with 3+ hands) section titled Three or More Hands has rules for using a weapon with more hands. The weapon has to be specially made for more hands, and the cost is poorly defined. I'm not sure if we're allowed to go into the specifics of the mechanics since Savage Species isn't OGL.

Q 413
An Incarnate/Wizard with Lightning Gauntlets (Magic of Incarnum, pg 76) bound casts Whirling Blade (Spell Compendium, pg 238). Does the electricity damage apply to all attacks, or only the first?
Q 414
Is a Kensai's (Complete Warrior, pg 49) Signature Weapon limited by his level in total power, or just added power?
For example, let's say a 1st-level Kensai obtains a +2 weapon which he wants to make his Signature Weapon. Can he not actually do anything with it aside from declare it his Signature Weapon, or could he make it a +3 weapon?
(The book's example for improving a magic weapon doesn't give the level of the Kensai in question, just the XP cost of doing so.)

Q 416
I was always of the belief there was no "official" CR guidelines for Awakened animals. I just discovered this article that lists an Awakened Dire Wolf Barbarian 1 as CR 6. Bearing in mind that stat blocks are notoriusly "hit-and-miss", would this indicate that an awakened animal has a CR increase of 2?

The Poison Immunity feat (BoVD) allows you to pick one poison to be immune to: is the Poison spell a valid choice?

The Dust Wight (MM3) has the special ability to damage armor with each slam attack: is hardness applied to this damage?

Q 419: Is there a rule that let's you make a slight of hand check to get around the need for making a somatic component for the spell? If so, what book is it in, and were is it listed in that book?
-
Re: Simple RAW Thread for 3.5 #33: Doesn't everything popular die when 33?
A 419
Races of Stone, page 133.
EDIT: Wait, you said "eliminate the need" for them. Sorry about that, this just lets you do them unnoticed.
-
Re: Simple RAW Thread for 3.5 #33: Doesn't everything popular die when 33?
A 419 Clarification
The check in RoS p. 133 only allows you to obscure somatic and verbal components, not eliminate the need for their presence. The check does not let you get around ASF, it just makes the somatic component less noticeable.

Q420
If I Summon a Fiendship Monstrous Centipete via SM3, can I ask it to attempt to grapple an enemy? or is it supposed to act with its usual attack rutine, as showed in MM? (Fiendship Monsters have an Int score of 3, allowing them to talk a language and making them magical beasts).
Q421
I started my action 10 feets appart of a large creature (threat area: 10 feets), take a 5 feets action as a misc action & Then ready an action to move away of my enemy as soon as it approachs 11 feets appart, do my readied action provoke an AoO? I would technically been interrumpting my enemy move action with my own move action, but would be 11 (15) feets away when I move.
(withdraw is not an option in this particular case).

Re: Simple RAW Thread for 3.5 #33: Doesn't everything popular die when 33?
Q422
I was about to die when a fellow goliath barbarian fell on me after I took 10d6 of falling damage myself. My GM allowed me to use close wound to prevent the deadly damage, and a friendly warlock healed me after that. Question is: are you able to close your own wounds as an inmediate action with said spell?
It kind of.. doesn't make sense.
PS: Barbarian was ok. 10d6 of damage was a scratch to her.
-
Re: Simple RAW Thread for 3.5 #33: Doesn't everything popular die when 33?
A 421 Invalid Question - A 5' step cannot be combined with any form of actual movement in a round, therefore one cannot ready to move away having taken 5' earlier in the round.
A 422 Yes - The rules and conventional reality often don't bear much relation to each other so it is not a useful guide to whether an action is permitted. Close wounds happens as the damage occurs (if cast when someone takes damage) so yes, you can use it while you pass unconsious so as not to die.

Re: Simple RAW Thread for 3.5 #33: Doesn't everything popular die when 33?
Q. 423
The spell Enlarge Person, Mass works just like the 1st level spell, in that it is Dismissible (D). Does this mean that if the caster subjects 2 medium sized characters to such a spell and chooses to dismiss it before the spell expires, can the caster choose who gets the buff removed, or are both buffs dismissed at once with a standard action leaving both characters back to medium size?

-
Re: Simple RAW Thread for 3.5 #33: Doesn't everything popular die when 33?
[A423]
Enlarge Person Mass is a single spell. It affects multiple targets, but is still a single spell.
About dismissing:

You would be dispelling the single 'Enlarge Person, Mass' spell, so anyone enlarged (and in range) would be back to their normal size.

Yes, but the DM always has discretion to allow certain types of attacks to bypass the hardness of certain objects.

Focused Specialist allows you to prepare two additional spells of each level, which must be from your specialty school. Since you have two specialty schools as a Changeling Wizard, you can choose spells from either school for the bonus slots.
Incantatrix does not provide any additional specializations; it only bans an additional school.
