Re: Our Comic Lab in the Playground: An experimentation class
Or a sci-fi fantasty like Warhammer 20,000! Or a world that incorpates all these generes a la the Nexus?
-
Re: Our Comic Lab in the Playground: An experimentation class
I always wanted to make something like Cyber Punk Samurai
-
Re: Our Comic Lab in the Playground: An experimentation class
We could do that, as long as ninjas are in it. Ninjas with LASER swords
We could actually do that in a Nexus webcomic, and gain bunch of viewing from about every FFRPer on these fourms.

Is this a new tabletop game from Gamers Workshop? I must play it! :smalltongue:
If you don't get the joke, it's Warhammer 40,000.

I must play anything from Gamers Workshop... since I live in Brazil the minatures are pretty expensive an no one plays it around here .__.

Re: Our Comic Lab in the Playground: An experimentation class
If I don't have minatures for a game I make them out of cardboard and paper. I also meant Warhammer 40,000.
I have the Cursed Slaad DnD minature, which is one of the rarest. Lucky me :smallcool:
Anyway, who wants to illustrate the webcomic?

I think the best way to go (after a couple of collaborative experiences) is to first approve a script and after that the first artist online draws it.

Re: Our Comic Lab in the Playground: An experimentation class
Alright. Who's going to be our main character? A ninja, knight, or a samurai? Or something else?
-
Re: Our Comic Lab in the Playground: An experimentation class
A useless nobody to happens to be a programmer... After developing a way to decrypt files using a newly developed mathematical method he is being chased by the government, the mob, and everyone.
A few comics later he is looking for personal protection and stumble upon a female rouge renegade laser samurai. Laser Samurais are humans enhanced by technology to become ultimate combatants. She uses illegal tech and updates, so she can even beat government soldiers.

Re: Our Comic Lab in the Playground: An experimentation class
Perhaps if we decide this in the Nexus (which gives us literally limitless possibilites), this could take place in an obscure area of it.
And a ninja with a laser sword (which may or may not look like the one in Halo) must be a main character :smallamused:

What the heck is Nexus? ^.~

Re: Our Comic Lab in the Playground: An experimentation class
*gasps* It's a FFRP setting on these threads, where just about nearly every person on these fourms have seen or posted on sooner or later. It can have Cthulu-style monstrosities, a DnD Barbarian, a Space Marine, and a Sniper Cat IN THE SAME tavern!
It has numerous groups such as HALO (Heroic Anti-Law Breaker Orginization) And GLOG (Good Leauge of Good). It's where all the multiverse meets, and can have anything in it.

Hm.... What is FFRP? :smallconfused:

Re: Our Comic Lab in the Playground: An experimentation class
Free Form Role Play. You create a character that fits in the setting and posts what they do. You interact with other players, NPCs, and battle bad guys. They have Halo ones, Ghostbuster Ones, Kingdom Hearts ones, etc.
FFRP is a sub-fourm in the Silly Message Board Games fourm on this website.

OHHHH!!! I've been there for a while... I got a bit bored since I expected it to be a bit faster, but it was fun. I had a mad wizard.
Anyway, I still vote for the Cyber Punk Samurai setting.

Re: Our Comic Lab in the Playground: An experimentation class
I dunno... I've never been on Nexus. I thought of it, but I didn't. I'm a part of the AnimeITP RPs anyway.
-
Re: Our Comic Lab in the Playground: An experimentation class
Okay then. I usually stick around the Kingdom Hearts thread, my FFRP games, and a couple others.
I vote for Nexus. If we do the Nexus, then every FFRPer on these fourms will check out our comic, and we could possibily get advertised by the various Nexus Threads. Plus it has freakin' Cat Snipers!
-
Re: Our Comic Lab in the Playground: An experimentation class
I could go for Nexus, but you would have to give me some background... if there is any... and still vote for the programmer useless main character trying to hire a black market body guard
-
Re: Our Comic Lab in the Playground: An experimentation class
Alright, the Nexus is a hub point where every universe in the multiverse intersects. There's Jedi, Sniper Cats, Ninjas, etc.
Basically anything you can think of is there.
-
Re: Our Comic Lab in the Playground: An experimentation class
Ok... I'm thinking of an introduction comic. But lets solve the main character issues first
-
Re: Our Comic Lab in the Playground: An experimentation class
I vote for a ninja with an energy sword! But it doesn't have to be that as long as one important character is a ninja with an energy sword.

There is enough room for a character that is a ninja with an energy sword :smalltongue:
My vote remains with the programmer
-
Re: Our Comic Lab in the Playground: An experimentation class
Perhaps the ninja could be the programmer's bodyguard?

The Ninja could be a female?
-
Re: Our Comic Lab in the Playground: An experimentation class
I don't know about that, but maybe the programmer has 2 bodyguards, the ninja, and the female Laser Samurai?
-

That could work. I'm going for a romantic pair.
-
Re: Our Comic Lab in the Playground: An experimentation class
Could they be rivals, as ninja and samurari traditionaly are? Both wanting to protect the programmer better then the other, which could lead to a running gag?
If not your idea works.

Re: Our Comic Lab in the Playground: An experimentation class
Great idea
So, have we decided why the programmer needs body-guards?

I think so...
