Roy too, though he seems only surprized. Since Celia probably didn't meet Miko in person, she maybe didn't recall who this person who died, among many others, is. And Belkar, well, is Belkar. And interesting panel with mixed reactions.

I hope it hasn't been said before... In strip #572 , panel 7, the oracle says he has an important client flying in. We later know that ABD saw the oracle to know who killed her son.
Foreshadowing of the ABD sub-plot!! Duh Duh Duh!!!!!
Yeah, that was actually a speculation when that strip came out, and when we then saw ABD, it came up again, and then we got it confirmed by ABD herself.
In #586 when Therkla hits the guard in the lower parts the onomatopoeia is actually "nuts!"
In strip 741 the poster at the end Roy is the guy getting choped in half! crazy!
In comic 365, Nale mentions how he doesn't think his Elan disguise will work forever, except for maybe on Belkar. Ironically, he is the one who sees through the disguise first.
Here we see what really compelled the goblin army to victory.
In the splash page, you can see a HOBGOBLIN with a halberd!
Only on my 5th time through did I notice that the Background of Strip #606 is Belkar.
Okay, that's one really hard to notice because it's small and over a dark background, but the dwarf caught in the "grey area" between Hel and Thor in 737 has "???" just over his head, definitely setting his expression as puzzlement.
In comic 688, Mr. Scruffy's acute cat senses hear the sandworm coming, and he starts running away two panels before it surfaces. He runs so far that he can't even be seen in the next comic until Vaarsuvius and Durkon chase him down and try to force him, hissing and spitting, onto the worm.
Probably a long time ago. Let's see.
One spellbook: 100 pages.
Each spell, as noted there, takes a number of pages equal to its level. Each cantrip takes one page.
Each level, a wizard gets to choose two new spells of any level s/he now has access to, in addition to spells gained through adventuring (scrolls in treasure, looting the spellbooks from defeated enemy wizards...).
Vaarsuvius has cast Power Word Stun, so s/he is at least (probably exactly) level 15.
First-level Vaarsuvius had a spellbook with all cantrips except those in his/her barred schools and three+Intelligence bonus first level spells. Each spell and cantrip took up one page. Assuming, for the sake of minimizing established used pages, that first-level Vaarsuvius had an Intelligence of 11 (much lower than it has any real chance of being), call it 10 pages.
Second level: Two more pages get taken up.
Third level: Assuming Vaarsuvius chooses two spells of his/her new spell level, 16 pages are now taken up.
Fourth level: 20.
Fifth level: 26.
Sixth level: 32.
Seventh level: 40.
Eighth level: 48.
Ninth level: 58.
Tenth level: 68.
Eleventh level: 80.
Twelfth level: 92.
Thirteenth level: S/he needs his/her second spellbook.
All of this assumes that s/he never found any scrolls s/he could copy into his/her spellbook, never captured any enemy wizard's spellbook with spells s/he didn't already know, didn't get, oh, access to any random city rulers' magical libraries...Normally, a fifteenth level wizard can be counted on to have several spellbooks; and a basic spellbook is standard adventuring equipment which can be purchased as readily as iron grappling hooks or 10-foot poles.
I never noticed the running gag about goblins loving gouda cheese.
What I meant is, he quoted a post that said "Mr. Scruffy notces the sandworm in 688, and runs away so far that he can't be seen in the next comic nutil they find him.". And then he said, You can see Mr. Scruffy in 688. His quoted post already said that, so what was his point of saying it again?
Is Kubota reading a Fourth Edition manual? :smallconfused:
I always interpreted this as two voice commands in a row. That is, "Two" triggers the desired action to not use Heat blisters of eternal pain, and the reapeated "Two" comprises the beginning of the spell name that the ThorPrayer voice recognition system thinks Durkon wants to select. Hereafter, Durkon confused by this chants "three" mistakenly, and exclaims something to do with excrement, so the system makes the obvious chice of colon tumor ...
... I just killed any joke still left in there, didn't I?
I never noticed the Master Swordsmith was a woman.
In #653 Tsukiko walks in with a small Xykon stuffed toy.
In the first panel of #700, you can see that toy on her bed.
One of the pirates here is uncorking the wine with his hook-hand.
The female Cliffport Police officer is eye-level with human men.
