Re: [Steam] Thread XVI: The biggest in-joke in gaming
I miss the funny trailers. Its not as if anyone playd left 4 dead as a serious game.
Also, Im giving in and buying the pack - Not that I think its a good idea to charge for items, but more because I want valve to give more money to valve for tf2. I dont think I have to, but I feel that if I can, I should.

Re: [Steam] Thread XVI: The biggest in-joke in gaming
Hey guys look at what I found.
Err.. Just sharing. Thoughts?
-
Re: [Steam] Thread XVI: The biggest in-joke in gaming
That's silly. I'm wondering if all of the other stuff in the list is craftable. Buy only items are pretty stupid.

I want to play a campaign of this with some people this weekend, if possible. I'm free most of Saturday and all of Sunday.
I would love to play that, but I'm busy all of Saturday and some of Sunday. Perhaps Sunday evening GMT?

Re: [Steam] Thread XVI: The biggest in-joke in gaming
I'm downloading it. Feel free to message me on steam if you want to try it.

Re: [Steam] Thread XVI: The biggest in-joke in gaming
I am now never to say a bad thing about Sigs again.
Not only did she trade me for an Engie hat (I lurve Engie hats), she then GAVE me the stuff to craft a Sydney Sleeper.
Now all I need is the Ol' Snaggletooth and I'll be set for life.

Alas, I have the Tyrant's Helm, and thus do not want the Soldier's Stash...Ze Goggles, on the other hand, are appealing, but that may not be the greatest trade ever on your end.

Re: [Steam] Thread XVI: The biggest in-joke in gaming
So I bought the polycount pack last night.
Coincidentally, I now have buyer's remorse.

BUT YOU HAVE THE CROCO-STYLE.
All the stylishness of a Crocodile, and all the MANLINESS of an Australian!
Sydney Sleeper + Jarate + Bushwacka = Jarate Master
Also I have taken a vocational specialisation in Jarate, and will spend the next few days shooting Jarate at people and chopping Jarate-covered things in two.
I wish to trade my three reclaimed metals for a Master's Headband. PM me please.

I've got one Byrn, and I might be interested in that deal.

Re: [Steam] Thread XVI: The biggest in-joke in gaming
Anyone have a Vintage Tippler's Tricorne they want to trade for a Vintage Pyro's Beanie or Masters Yellow Belt?

8pm GMT, by the Server Entrance.
The refined metal will be in the box to the left of the door.
Put the headband in, take the metal and only the metal.
We will be watching Jibar. We will be watching very closely.
-
Re: [Steam] Thread XVI: The biggest in-joke in gaming
And while you're watching Jibar, Linker comes by and snatches the metal.
I like this plan.
-
Re: [Steam] Thread XVI: The biggest in-joke in gaming
So I had four hats. Beanie, Vintage Vintage Merryweather, Yellow Belt and Bonnet.
Then I get a random hat drop. As my first drop since the update.
It's a Yellow Belt.
After the prerequisite WHAT GUYS, WHAT; it turns out Magnus has a brain slug and is willing to trade.
My luck amazes even me sometimes.
-
Re: [Steam] Thread XVI: The biggest in-joke in gaming
I crafted a random sniper hat yesterday.
It was a Professional's Panama. :smallmad:
Also, tell me that I am not the only one who is annoyed that there are buy only items.

So much for the value of a hug. But sure, message me whenever.

Nope. If I get any crates, I'm trading them away because I refuse to buy keys.

Nope. I really don't like this. I'll stop here to save you the rant.

Imagine if happiness was a substance. We'll say that a piece of pure happiness the size of, say, a fist, is roughly equivalent to an orphan whose loving parents just came back to life.
With that hat, I could fill the grand canyon.

Especially since, according to that screenshot, it's possible to find standard items inside of them.

Re: [Steam] Thread XVI: The biggest in-joke in gaming
I'll just pop in for a moment to say that I hate this update and TF2 is now ruined forever.

Chocolate Hammer IRC: A how-to
Quote:
You have chosen, or been chosen, to relocate to one of our finest remaining Internet Relay Chats. I thought so much of this IRC channel, after having been elected to establish operator powers , here, in this #chocolatehammer, so thoughtfully provided by our benefactor. I am proud to call #chocolatehammer my home. And so, whether you are here to stay, or passing through to parts unknown, welcome, to #chocolatehammer. It's safer here.
Join us in #chocolatehammer on irc.sorcery.net, using the password of chha
There are many ways to connect to and enjoy IRC, either by using a web client, a traditional desktop client, or by using a plugin for your browser / game. If you already have some experience using IRC but would like to know more, once you're inside the channel, any questions you might have should be answered by those already present.

Mibbit
One of the most popular and easiest web clients around, Mibbit only asks for a nickname, server and a channel. It runs on all sorts of browsers, both mobile and desktop variant. To connect to #chocolatehammer, connect to the server first (irc.sorcery.net), after which you type in
Code:
/join #chocolatehammer chha
However, Mibbit is terrible and you should get a real client.
Desktop

There's a Brobdingnagian amount of desktop clients available, like
mIRC and
XChat, both of which are the easiest to set up, and with the latter useful for different operating systems. Beside those, there's
Pidgin,
Colloquy,
Adium,
ircII if you're adventurous,
MirandaIM, and a whole slew of other such clients. I'll briefly describe mIRC, XChat and Adium here.
mIRC
Once you open mIRC after installing it, a screen should appear which asks for your name, email and nickname. Only your nickname is of importance, the rest can be gibberish. Once you have set these credentials, you have to choose the server. You can select Sorcery.net from the dropdown menu, or enter irc.sorcery.net and once you connect, it will ask you which channels you want to visit. You can type in #chocolatehammer chha where it's needed, and it'll connect you, but you might want to set it to join the channel automatically, should you wish to return.
XChat
XChat works pretty similar to mIRC, and following the steps above will work just as well. Otherwise, when you're in a terminal, type
Code:
/server irc.sorcery.net
and after that,
Code:
/join #chocolatehammer chha
Adium
Adium works like so;
Plugins
Spoiler

One of the more popular ways to connect to #chocolatehammer is the
ChatZilla plugin for Firefox. Once you have it installed, all you need to do is open it from your Tools menu, configure as desired, then type
Code:
/server irc.sorcery.net
and
Code:
/j #chocolatehammer chha
once it finishes connecting.

I wish you could trade/craft purchased items. Or at least bonus items. I have a spare new spy gun that I can't do anything with.
