That makes me wonder whether a transatlantic is someone whose national identity doesn't fit their side of the pond or whether it's a trans merfolk. :3
That would actually be quite interesting, underwater LGBTA! Sub-queerine!

Maybe you are hyperflexible? Apparently that allowed someone a friend knew to go far enough down in splits to take a nap! :o
I wonder if I could learn to do that, though. I seem quite flexible despite only practicing my gymnastics every purple moon. ^_^'

No, it's a parasitic insect that holds up the sky, that is unhappy with its birth sex.

Re: LGBTAitP - Part 22: The Best There Is
Lucky you, Arachu, I'm as flexible as a broom with rigor mortis.
Yes, I'm pretty certain brooms can get rigor mortis under the right conditions.

I'm nearly that bad. I don't even come close to touching my toes. Or even my ankles. I'm lucky if I can reach past my knees.

:smalltongue: I'm actually been weirdly flexible for my whole life, but I was also really unhealthy so I haven't been able to properly exercise it yet. Now, though, I'm losing a lot of weight and drinking a lot more water (which is remedying that dehydration I've apparently suffered from my entire life). I still can't move as well as I've always felt like I should have been able to (yet), but I have more freedom of motion than I ever have... It's just great.:smallbiggrin::smallbiggrin:

O_O Okay, I don't think I'll ever top that... I dunno, though, I may be able to do a front-back 'splits' someday (that'd be so cool!). I've really been neglecting that muscle group.
I don't even know how it's physically possible, but I think just about anyone could do it with enough practice. It may take a couple years, though... I'm not sure how I've been practicing, considering how I wasn't able to do that until a couple of hours ago. ^_^'

No, interestingly enough, there aren't. It's not that cameras can't capture our image, it's more that our field of inherent magic twists probability around us, so no one ever quite manages to get a decent photo. This is generally not a big deal, but it was a bit annoying when the people I worked with over the summer wanted a photo to put on the website and I was like "I, uh, don't actually have one." and they were like "It doesn't have to be fancy or anything, any little photo will do." "No, I really just don't have one!". This is a true story.

Re: LGBTAitP - Part 22: The Best There Is
So! I bring something forward from another online community I thought you all might benefit from hearing.
On Tumblr, there's a person going around finding closeted LGBT posters and getting their addresses (Tumblr is kinda stupid in this aspect? There are a lot of things called giveaways and such, and so addresses are kinda handed out wily-nily) and then sending letters to their parents.
Its happened before off and on for a while, but it was brought to my attention when a "TumblrFamous" tumblr Daf made a video (Warning: There is ONE BAD WORD repeated FOUR times. Young ears should beware)
This same person also stated they were starting a database of online closeted LGBTs in the intention of outing them not only to their parents but also their entire communities.
Just thought I should send out the signal. Be careful guys :smallfrown:

I'm not that flexible, but I'm very jumpy, much to the annoyance of people who are seen with me. :smalltongue:

Re: LGBTAitP - Part 22: The Best There Is
By the way, sorry, but I'm not going to participate in the Skype voice group. I have an intense dislike of speaking through devices, and English not being my first language, I still have have a bad French accent and a tendency not to understand everything I hear right away. I'm not going to make you all repeat yourselves slowly just so I can participate.
But seriously, I hate phones and similar devices with a passion. That's the most important point.

Does the guy give a reason for this outing?

I'm moderately certain that person is breaking a law of some sort... Harassment, perhaps.

They used to have a tumblr that was deleted for harassment, but on it they stated it was part of their project to stamp down on homosexuality. They state its all in good intentions, sort of like the gay camps where they try to condition the gay out of people :smallyuk:

Re: LGBTAitP - Part 22: The Best There Is
Alright, so I had an interesting talk with a friend of mine. At the end of it, I realized we stopped using the physical pronouns for the other, and it felt really nice, for both of us. He's not the girl I met a long time ago.

I thought that's what you were thinking of... I'm not quite light enough to be that flexible yet, but I admit I've thought about it...

Ooooo. Now here's an interesting one.
Gender: Male/Female/I would rather not answer
Is your gender identity the same as the gender you were at birth? Yes/No/I would rather not say
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual/Gay Man/Lesbian/Heterosexual/Prefer Not To Say

You know, in Australia, it's illegal to even ask these questions on applications or at job interviews.
-
Re: LGBTAitP - Part 22: The Best There Is
Even sex?
...
Wow. I've never actually applied for a job in Australia. I did not realise that. No, that's a lie. I just haven't gotten a job I applied for in Australia, and don't remember not putting in that info.
But I think it has something to do with their equality stuff, something like data recording or something. I'll post the statement from the next job I apply for.

Employers in the USA have started requesting Facebook passwords.
So Australia cares about privacy, and the US couldn't give less of a rat's ass. :smallannoyed:

Which is either even more illegal, and increasingly frowned upon by Facebook, either a trick question generally used for sensible jobs.

Yes. Certain exceptions apply (e.g. requiring a female employee to clean female toilets while in use), but in general, yes.

I should hope so about sexuality at the very least. Highly inappropriate, that.
