In effect, the incantatrix is a specialist in the school of Abjuration (gaining all the benefits of specializing in a school), and the incantatrix must choose an additional prohibited school or schools using the rules on page 54 of the Player's Handbook (although an incantatrix can never choose Transmutation as an opposed school). The incantatrix can never again learn spells from that prohibited school or schools. She can still use the prohibited spells she knew prior to becoming an incantatrix, including using items that are activated by spell completion or spell trigger. If the incantatrix already is a wizard specialized in Abjuration, she does not need to choose another prohibited school. A bard or sorcerer who becomes an incantatrix must still choose a prohibited school to gain the benefits of specialization.
Emphasis mine. Incantatrix provides an additional specialization in Abjuration (and all benefits thereof) unless you are already specialized in abjuration, in which case it does nothing.

That's an article from 2001, and therefore must be the 3.0 version of Incantatrix. The current version of the class doesn't work like that.

There's also the variant kobold, which slight build, gaining bonuses for counting as tiny whenever it is a benefit.
Darrin (in the same post) also pointed out that a hengeyokai sparrow (OA) is a fine-sized (smallest category) creature when in sparrow form.
Savage Species, pg 54: Ring of Shrinking (aka continuous reduce person, 3,000 gp) shrinks you a size category. However, since it is based on reduce person, it cannot affect hengeyokai since they aren't humanoid.

Yes, but this is another scenario where you must rely on the discretion of the DM.

Bit of a curly one. Snowsong (Frostburn) is a Bard 6 spell. Is there any way for a Beguiler to add this spell to his class list or spells known?

What's a hairy spider PC? Drider are LA +4, but if you just want spider hair all over your body and a couple more eyes, then as Troacctid said, there is no rules-only way of doing this short of creating a new player race. (However, that would be homebrew and still need DM approval).

Hairy Spider is a monster that was printed in some book I can't remember the name of with +0 LA but Int -. So while technically a playable race, it really shouldn't be.

Races of Faerun. I don't think you could, unless your DM rules that awaken could apply to vermin, backport vermin heart from PF (in the PFSRD), or applying a template that gives an int score, such as Vivacious creature (Planar), Celestial, etc.

Q 432
I've already searched with no luck, but I thought it was worth a try...does Restoration appear on a 3rd level arcane spell list anywhere? I've found it as Healer 3, but that doesn't work for my purposes.
If it helps, it's to get it into an Eternal Wand. I guess a Healer with Southern Magician might work....but looking for other options.

No, but it is a 4th level arcane spell on the Fatemaker, Knight of the Weave, and Taker spell lists.

Re: Simple RAW Thread for 3.5 #33: Doesn't everything popular die when 33?
Q 433
The section on Sneak Attack for the Rogue class specifies that the extra damage isn't multiplied in case of critical hit.
The Craven feat (Champion of Ruin) adds 1 point per character level to sneak attack damage. Is this additional damage not multiplied either in case of critical hit?
Q 434
The Stunning Fist feat allows an attempt to stun an opponent only once per round. Most other ki attack feats (with Stunning Fist as a prerequisite) also allows only one use per round.
However, can you use both a stunning attack and a different ki attack strike on the same round?

Q 435
Does the Gold Dwarf Dweomersmith (Races of Faerun, p. 163) feat grant access to those spells listed to a spellcaster, or are those examples of spells that the feat grants +1 caster level to?
-
Re: Simple RAW Thread for 3.5 #33: Doesn't everything popular die when 33?
A 433
That damage is multiplied on a critical hit as only extra damage dice are not.
A 434
It depends on the wording of the feat in question.
A 435
The feats says nothing about adding them to the character's list of known spells.

Re: Simple RAW Thread for 3.5 #33: Doesn't everything popular die when 33?
Q 436
Is there a default way to determine the effective spell level of a spell-like ability that does not duplicate a spell? If not, how would you determine the correct answer in the below situation?
For example, a Bard's fascinate bardic music ability is a SLA that doesn't duplicate a spell. If the bard tries to use it on a creature inside a lesser globe of invulnerability, which blocks spells & SLA's of 3rd level & lower, how do you determine the effective spell level of the bardic music SLA?
Some SLA's specify a spell level (summon tanar'ri, for example), but neither the the generic SLA rules in the MM1 glossary, nor the bardic music ability tell you how to determine it.

Re: Simple RAW Thread for 3.5 #33: Doesn't everything popular die when 33?
Still looking for answers to the below questions:
Q 404 A
Suppose a great beast (we’ll use the Tarrasque as an example) was imprisoned in one of the bubble-like voids that composes Agathion, the fourth layer of Pandemonium. If an adventuring party were to want to find the Tarrasque, could they go to Phlegethon, cast Find the Path, in search of “the portal to the Tarrasque’s prison” (that’s a location) and successfully find the portal to the void they seek?
What if they asked about finding “the Tarrasque’s prison in Pandemonium?” Would that not work, because the prison is on a different layer of Pandemonium, and Find the Path specifically only works "on the same plane as you are at the time of casting?"
Q 404 B
If Find the Path works to find these places, how have people never found the supposed lost treasure troves that deities have stored in Agathion (MotP, p. 99)?
Quote:
… The portals that connect Agathion to the rest of Pandemonium open into the otherwise unreachable bubbles, but the act of stepping through a portal always sets off a windstorm.
Unless you know where the portal is, the closed-off spaces of Agathion are almost impossible to find. For this reason, forgotten spaces have been used by deities (and other powerful entities that predate the current deities) as vaults where items are hidden away. Such items may include uncontrollable artifacts, precious mementos, lost languages, unborn cosmologies, and monsters of such cataclysmic power that they couldn’t be slain or otherwise neutralized.
For example, why couldn’t someone use Find the Path to locate “the Agathion vault of Ao, where he stored the original prototypes for the Orbs of Dragonkind?” (Assuming the information was true.)
Q 406
If a psionic yuan-ti has Detect Hostile Intent running, which is a Telepathy [Mind-Affecting] power (and for transparency, all Telepathy powers count as Enchantment), and an undead creature (or some other creature immune to enchantment [mind-affecting] effects, such as a Half-Fey) approaches within the range of the DHI field, does the Yuan-ti notice their approach?
Note that Detect Hostile Intent has no target line, nor does it allow a saving throw.
Quote:
Detect Hostile Intent
Telepathy [Mind-Affecting]
Level: Psion/wilder 2, psychic warrior 2
Display: Olfactory
Manifesting Time: 1 standard action
Range: 30 ft.
Area: 30-ft.-radius emanation centered on you
Duration: 10 min./level (D)
Saving Throw: None
Power Resistance: No
Power Points: 3
While the duration of this power lasts, you become aware of the presence of any creatures with hostile intent within 30 feet of you, and their direction from you...

You must have both line of sight and line of effect to the target of a spell. A closed door will typically block both.

Only if you think a portal is a location. That's a philosophical question for which you should expect table variation. (I would argue it is not.)

That's more of a story question than a rules question. There could be all sorts of reasons. And maybe some of them have been found—who knows?

If a creature has hostile intent, immunity to mind-affecting effects won't prevent you from detecting them with that power, as the power targets you, not them. Their immunity only bypasses the part of the effect that would prevent you from being surprised or flat-footed by them, as per the text of the power.

There is no default way to determine the spell level of a SLA that doesn't duplicate a specific spell; usually, such an ability is explicitly given a level (for example, the Emerald Immolation of a Jade Phoenix Mage is described as equivalent to a 9th-level spell). When it isn't, it's an oversight.
If the level cannot be determined from other clues (like a given DC, since most saving throw for spells equals 10 + spell level), a rule of thumb is to find the spell with the closest effect (in the case of the Fascinate bard ability, it would be hypnotism, a 1st-level spell). Or to consider at what class level the SLA is gained, and equate it to a caster level (most spells can be cast by a caster of level roughly half the spell level, rounded up). In both cases, it would equate the Fascinate SLA to a 1st level spell, and thus it would be blocked by a lesser globe of invulnerability.

But note that according to the spell, "the exit to a labyrinth" is a location. How then, would a portal into a location not itself be a location?

If anything, the difficulty would be in defining the location without resorting to creatures or objects ('the subject could not find the way to “a forest where a green dragon lives” or “a hoard of platinum pieces.”'). It's debatable if "Ao's vault in Agathion" would define it sufficiently.

As to the first, it's required to follow your commands, but not to follow the attack pattern recommended in the Monster Manual.
As to Q438... I'm AFB at the moment, but I recall a barbarian-based PrC that allowed you to survive while in a rage up until the rage ran out, regardless of HP total.
