In #489 the Belkar evil chart has a slight peak just before new year. This matches up with when Belkar murdered the prison guard and tried to make Miko fall. The big drop afterwards represents the Mark of Justice stage where he couldn't be evil.

It was pointed out a while ago that Tsukiko has a Xykon plushie, but I don't Think I noticed Before that her slippers match her Eye colors.
Wow... Star Wars fan that I am, I had never spotted the lightsaber duel taking place in the last panel of #371...
What is the "Book of Odad?

(2nd panel)
Especially given it's a memorial strip for Dave Arneson.
Belkar's Opinion on fangs has changed:

Eh, I don't know that his opinion changed. Knowing Belkar, what he said in that earlier strip comes across more like "we get away with killing those folks with impunity because they've got green skin and fangs", as opposed to people without those traits, which he's just as happy to kill, but knows he can't get away with that. IMV it's not about his opinion of green skin and fangs, but that he gets to kill them. Then again, that strip was early enough that characterization might have been inconsistent back then.
If I'm recalling correctly, vampire Gontor hasn't used any spells. He used vampire powers to get to and from the airship, and to summon the rats. This makes sense, as Gontor had already used up his high-level spells that day.
I never noticed Trigak's last words were "Gak! Gak! Gak!".
... You know, three Gaks. A tri-Gak even...
I never noticed that Elan said "rescuinged" after getting caught in the net.
Is there an extra word in #562? Therkla says:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...iv/therkla.gif Sure, the mission that you approved was sanctioned to capture – not kill – Hinjo's bodyguard.
but it seems like
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...iv/therkla.gif Sure, the mission that you approved was to capture – not kill – Hinjo's bodyguard.
or
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...iv/therkla.gif Sure, the mission that you sanctioned was to capture – not kill – Hinjo's bodyguard.
make more sense. Is this just me?
She's trying to rules-lawyer her way out of not killing Elan, so no, it makes sense that she'd choose her words more carefully rather than less, and therefore make a distinction between what the mission was sanctioned to do and who approved it.
In everyday conversation, sure, you can mesh together "the purpose of the mission" with "the approval of the mission" but by adding two steps, she distances her even more from the orders: she followed orders that were to capture, and those orders were approved by mustachio. This outright states that there were two mistakes: 1, not crafting the mission with broader parameters and 2, approving those narrow parameters without realising they were too narrow.

Therkla's not in 652.
She is in 562, though. I assume littlebum2002 made a typo.
I have no idea what you're talking about. My post always said #562.
In addition to the obvious connection to the dinner party, the frog-battle memory in #963 is somewhat relevant to the battle that led to Durkon's death. ("If one member of the team is being eaten...")
In #1081 (today's strip) I noticed Hel got discolored teeth.
in a bit of Meta-ness, I just noticed that Haley still hasn't replaced the diamond on the cast page. Here. Now I think what it would be if it stays the same for the foreseeable future, then anyone who reads the cast page before they read through the comic will get a neat little joke.
Wow. In the decade or so I've been reading and re-reading this strip, I never noticed that the pirate uncorking Haley's wine has a hook for his right hand.
In #1083, Hel in the flashback has a slightly different appearance. Her dress had a different design (strapless vs plunging neckline), and her hair was slightly longer.
Roy cuts off part of Durkon's beard in #1009; you can see him do it in the big final panel, and the beard is noticeably shorter after that.
