What did Matt do? He's Matt. That should answer everything.
It's Poke-week!

I won't say anything about composition or such, because I know buggerall about that. But I liked the dialogue and that we got to know more about Matt (he used to be a really crappy thief...)
You just answered the question. :smalltongue: Thanks!

Hmm...Tobeem seems to be a very cold country, ah, I like the place already.:smallwink: (That last panel is from there, right?)
And I like the detail that you draw the long sleeves on Matt.
So, is that what sprouted his elf-hate or is it just an example?
Oh, and my guess is that the last party member will be a female elf with angsty personality and inferiority complex. Just because it's the exact opposite of Matt's description :smallamused:
Glad I could brighten your day! And yes, that is Tobeem in that last panel.
In April.
It's an example. Actually, Matt's elf-hate stems mostly from jealousy. They're natural rogues. Naturally graceful, stereotypical image of an absurdly beautiful and graceful creature firing perfectly accurate arrows of death from the cover of the treetops, textbook Mary-Sues when improperly done; it drives Matt up the wall.
Once again, you'll see! :smallwink:

Is that last line the reference i think it is?

Uh, does it count as a shout-out if you only remembered it was from there later? :smalltongue:

Call it a subconscious shout-out.

Re: Murphy's Law (Thread 2!)
Also, a minor nitpick: could you move Matt's dagger a bit? I spent All this time thinking his tunic had a split on either side.

I thought it was a reference to 0th-level NPCs, which were proud parts of the D&D universe until WotC came along.

Uhm, how about I try to make the daggers a bit larger? I feel that they're good where they are, you know?

Tobeem is like a cross between Russia (Read: Siberia :smalltongue:) and medieval Switzerland.
And I don't know what WoTC is either.

Wizards of the Coast
And I thought of Kung-fu Panda too (maybe because I saw it a few weeks ago).
EDIT: Forgot to mention: nice update! I think Matt's right to complain (maybe not during four days).

The climate still sounds quite homelike.:smalltongue:
...
...Okay, okay, it's not that cold here. Though there was still pretty much snow around in April. Actually, I'm rather suprised it really melted away before May, considering the amount of it.:smalleek: I thought it might still be around in June...
Oh, but Tobeem probably doesn't have any coastline, or has it?
Too bad, I die if I stay long inland...:smallfrown::smallwink:

Tobeem does have a coastline, but it's all polar ocean and icebergs and icebound and ice floes and icy and COLD.
Also, the eastern coast was a war zone up until about 30 years ago.

Bah, minor details! As long as there's saltwater and sea wind the rest is purely insignifigant! :smallamused:

Are you a Deep One, born of an unholy marriage between man and an ancient being that lives under the sea?
-
Re: Murphy's Law (Thread 2!)
Or a Nimmy?
Those things are certainly smart enough to figure out how to write and draw despite a crippling lack of opposable thumbs.
Flipping sea-monsters, always finding ways to make up for their weak spots!
They also watch television...
GAH DEHYDRATION! :smallannoyed:
That's what you get for being out of the water for more than a month or so at a time.
Also, they can kills things with electric shocks, just ask the guy who got electrocuted when he tried to poke one with a stick.
...People always do say they look a little bit like miniature Cthulhu's crossed with a green dragon...
...
...
...
TINDER!!!
What have you been doing?

No, I just think that if all the others were listened to when they refused going to Kago or picking the orc, and if Matt really has some good reasons not to like elves, he shouldn't be ignored.

Well, unless an elf caused major psychological trauma to him (Janine with orcs) or a bunch of them will have him drawn and quartered the instant he steps foot on their land (Tinder with the Kago paladins), his reason to argue against going there is less potent. naturally, given his track reocrd, both of those are still quite likely.
EDIT: Holy typos Batman!

Re: Murphy's Law (Thread 2!)
Yay, more character developement! Its like a mix of plot and a special treat, and word-covered candy! Woo!
...
Okay, oddest metaphor I've used today, that's for sure... :smallconfused:
By the way, are those Dire Squirrels gnawing on Matt's arm and leg? And if so, do you have stats for them and/or the trap they're related to?

That may be, but there really were no other good, reliable options. Also, Matt really didn't give a good reason. (Trust me when I say that Janine's got a good reason.)

Like that. That's a good reason. :smallwink:

Weasels. Like with Radic from before, only it wasn't Radic this time. She was several hundred miles away and probably practicing spells in her room.
Aw, but noodle incidents are the best!

Hey, guys, hhm...Would I sound like an attention whore or a jerk if I voiced my desire to have a TvTropes page on Murphy's Law? I mean, it would be pretty cool...

Time to add the tropes!
(Oh, just one thing; it might be best to add links to the Finagle's Law page, just in case people get them confused. Also, you should mention that Janine's also a cleric of Astrid, and clarify who Astrid is. :smalltongue:)

Re: Murphy's Law (Thread 2!)
Nice update, Coffee; I found the last panel especially amusing.
Hm... After four days of travel, according to The Vaarsuvius Theory of Random Encounters the party's due exactly one incident...
Nice page, Herpestidae, but it still needs to be indexed and get a list of tropes and get referenced in the trope pages it lists and stuff, doesn't it? That, of course will be quite an undertaking and the page itself is going to need regular maintenance... We might need to set up some kind of system for this...
