My mother, for one. She doesn't even know you exist.
But seriously. I was half joking. I was planning on making something for the fan comic section and the name of the antagonist was going to be Mr. Silver. You had to put a sabot in that little plan, didn't you? :smallannoyed:
I probably wouldn't have noticed if you had, I don't think I've even on the fan comics section in over a year. Nonetheless, I shall still take this opportunity to have a maniacal laugh at having thwarted your schemes :smallamused:
I am a little curious as to what these other grievances are now, though. I honestly don't recall any interactions with you before this exchange*.
*I get the feeling that fact may find it's way onto said list of grievances
Ey! Eyedazzler! Love that album.
My collage confuses me. I added an artist only one, too.
One of my favorite records easily. And I love all the spoofs that've been made of it. Like Songs About Nothing and Songs About ****ing Steve Albini.
Okay, cooked one up. Last 9 records I listened to:
And, list in text form:
Erasure - Union Street
King Crimson - Red
The Cure - Wish
Aphid Moon - Super Collider
Coheed and Cambria - The Afterman
Nurse With Wound - Soliloquy for Lilith
Opeth - Watershed
The Toasters - Skaboom
Luna - Bewitched
Not a lot of my usuals. And just fell off the list were a couple scores, as if my list weren't eclectic enough! (not counting listening to my own stuff of course).
Oh, and nice list, Faulty! You know I definitely approve of the Swans, TG and Coil  I haven't listened to Monte Cazazza in ages!
I've been trying like mad to get people to listen to Abandoned Pools. It's alt rock made by the awesome Tommy Walter. They just released a new album called Sublime Currency. It's more mild than the last two, but the older stuff is still really good.
I'm just surprised nobody I talk to ever has heard of them. They're not big big, but they're on a major label (I think), and Tommy Walter is a pretty famous guy. He was one of the original members of The Eels. I'm not particularly fond of them, but I hear they were pretty big at one point.
Red is a great album. My favorite King Crimson album is Discipline. I really like their '80s stuff.
I've heard of them, but nothing beyond that song. I think I will try to dig deeper at some point.
Taylor Swift also did all of her best work in the '80s.
Taylor Swift is crunk.
In other news, I gave my brother My Bloody Valentine's EPs 1988 - 1991 for his birthday and now he's a MBV fan!
The gift that keeps on giving! Glad he appreciated it!
I wonder what odds are in Vegas on MBV actually getting a new release out in the next year...or five....
The world needs more music influenced by Arabic Folk. Why don't we all take a break from Americana for a while and find other nations whose traditional music we can plunder?
Amr Diab, (DJ) Nickodemus, Armen Chakmakian, the Ulaim Az Zama Orchestra. And also Orphaned Land because Orphaned Land is awesome.
It's out there, if you know where to look.
Adding to the list Muslimgauze (that'll keep you busy for a while) and Niyaz (former singer of Vas, also pretty good). But, yeah, lots of it out there, in pretty much any genre you like!
Me, I plunder gleefully from Celtic tradition (mostly Scottish)!
Melechesh, of course.
This is all relevant to my interests.
(I'm taking Arabic, and I have so little Arabic music right now it's terrible. I have like... Abdel Ali Slimani, one song. I have some Tabla music which has some Arabic people playing. I have one Ihab Tawfik song. Lots of sub-saharan west african stuff, but that's not the same)
Y'all know where I do my plundering...
:smallcool:
Totes forgot about Al-Namrood.
Shame on y'all for not mentioning Tinariwen.
Love me some tabla. Turns up in a lot of world fusion. Wish I had more, actually. But world fusion influences are sometimes so mixed it's difficult to tell the influences apart.
I've also got a bunch of compilations of north and west African stuff, but nothing really from famous artists. "Guy sitting on the street corner in Timbuktu" isn't really a recording artist you can reliably follow. Shame, cause that tends to be the best music.
So, looking at my past 7 days 3x3...
Man I have been so addicted to that Taylor Swift album. 2avant4u
I had this lying around, might as well put it here. Not completely up to date and a few glaring oversights, but it's pretty good I think.
Moff, I am not surprised that I own around half the records on your list!
Is that yr favorites list, Chumsy?
