Autumn smiles lightly, "ah well, i wasn't expecting it," she turns to the people around, "anyone else want a fighting type shifter? Willing to trade for another type shifter or a pokemon if anyone wants it."
Sylvia over heard Autumn attempting to make a deal with Russ and how it go well. "Autumn I have a grass shiftier that i'm probably not going to use. do you want to trade for it?"
Autumn lights up, "a grass type shifter would be perfect," she says, holding out the reddish-brown type shifter.
Russ, in fact, has no idea what in the world the girls were talking about, and it showed in his face.
Sylvia reaches into her bag and produces the leaf green shifter. She hands it over to Autumn and accepts her's. After the trade she moves away from the ring and opens her bag to inspect her egg, making sure it was still okay.
All of your phones buzz simultaneously. -Thank you for waiting. Your contact will be available shortly. We hope to see you soon.- Within a few seconds of reading the text, you get...a sort of feeling, suggesting you head to the back of the Dojo. There is a calm, business-like sense to the feeling.
Emma's face screws up in what seems to be a mixture of anxiety and a silent scream. She chances it and sends out a telepathic message to the group. I don't like this, at all. Be on your gaurd.
Sylvia does a mental nod as she guards herself as she makes her way to the back of the Dojo.
Autumn gives a subtle nod as she walks to the back of the room, the type shifter now stored in her pack. She keeps an eye open for whoever it is they're looking for.
Russ it's now even more confused. "What's a type shifter? And why in the world is that voice in my head?" Both questions are totally ruining his after show, and he was ready to tile up the crowds. So instead he just hops out of the ring.
Emma huffs exasperated and grab's ST's elbow and pulls him towards the rest of the group. It was me you dullard, now shush before someone puts 2 and 2 together. Follow me.
Damien nodded at Emma as the rag tag group passed him, placing Darren back where he belonged in his back pack before following the group. While he hadn't expected to have killed time quite like that, he couldn't really argue with the results. In truth, he was now more anxious about tonight than he was about meeting this Sigma fellow; he really hated the wait.
As you move towards the back of the Dojo, you spot a door lightly ajar, though clearly few people have used it. The feeling tells you to head there. Inside is what looks a lot like the rest of the Dojo. Weights, punching bags, etc. Visible as well are several targets, each damaged by something different to each one. Cracks on one, singe marks on the other, and one just plain lacks the target and is partially melted. Most interesting is a large computer, wires running every which way into the ceiling and walls. It's quite quiet, however.
"Hey, sorry about the delay, though Sigma tells me that you were able to stay occupied." The voice comes from an exceedingly tall man sitting in a chair by the computer, hair greying a bit, but still in excellent shape. Around his neck is an odd red and black Pokéball. His voice is quite relaxed as he introduces himself. "Damian Voiron, leader of the Dojo, co-leader of Saffron. And you have already somewhat met Sigma." There is a click from the supercomputer as a simple -Hello- appears on the monitor.
"I still have no idea what the type shifters are!" Russ complains.
"Little bits of metal that change your pokemon's type," Autumn says quietly to Russ.
"It's nice to meet both of you," she says to Damian and Sigma, though she was still obviously wary as the ranger had said she should be, "I hope you don't mind me asking, but why are we here exactly?"
"That would be better for Sigma to tell you, seeing as he was the one who suggested the meeting." The computer hums again.
-First off, Leonard is a MUKING LIAR! I am fully operational and my ethics were properly programmed! All malignant virii were purged from my system and I am not a freak! I am-
Damian types a command into the computer. "He's a bit chaotic at times. Sigma, be nice."
-Apologies. I simply detest falsities be made about myself and the leaders of Saffron. Anyways, I requested your arrival for a multitude of reasons, and after some digging, Damian gained some interest as well in your group. First, I am thankful for your reporting of that foul trainer on the road. Poor execution, but good intent. Always focusing on the ends. Get things done.
For the next part, I'll let Damian speak, as it was his interest more than mine. Back to training.- The text vanishes from the computer and feeds from several cameras flash onto the screen. In the distance you can see a small red dot suddenly appear before it changes color and a blinding flash of disorienting lights flash from it towards a target. It's a tad too far for your Pokédexes to scan from here.
"Always focusing on work in the end. Perhaps I give him too much leeway. Anyways, I took an interest because of why you were sent here, bringing an egg to...Pewter, if memory serves." As he looks at you, he seems to sense the sudden discomfort at his comment. "No, don't worry. I simply wished to tell you that if all goes well, you may be able to find some work from me. What you are doing is likely quite important, and I might find something for you to do for me if you are successful with this delivery. Gotta stay here and run the Dojo, do nightly patrols with Sigma, and so on. Inter-leader actions get difficult to find time for." He looks at Emma as if he knows more than he lets on.
He was a bit taken back by how similar both his and the man's name was; from what he'd heard about these guys, and given what his own nana had taught him about omens, he wasn't too happy with the fact. That said, he had little else he could do now but here them out. Though after hearing him out, he felt a bit more comfortable.
"What do you mean by Co-leader. Are you and your friends the mayors or something?"
"One of two, I guess you could say. Gym leaders tend to act as town leaders. Due to the unfortunate division of our town, two leaders is probably for the best. We're working on uniting the city. It's part of why we adopted Gallade as our town's symbol. Fighting and Psychic in one entity, neither more important than the other. Anyways, Arte controls most of the more outward matters with the town while I focus on internal problems. Crime, riots, so forth." He tilts his head. "Something bothered you when I introduced myself. What was it?"
Emma's face flushes red. Do you know how much trouble it is trying to not draw attention to ourselves when we are getting special treatment everywhere!? If you had our mission as your priority, you have a funny way of doing it. She almosts spits as she talks. She is obviously still flustered from earlier.
"So one of the reasons you called us here is to ask us if we want a job?" Sylvia raised a brow at this. "Well at the moment the egg is a priority and even when get done with the delivery, we have our own goals we'd like to work towards. I am not speaking for everyone, but no thanks."
"I never said it was a priority, and I am hardly giving any special treatment. I simply decided that if Sigma was going to call you in for something I might as well wish you luck on your job. If you do well delivering this egg, you've proven yourselves capable. Now please do not speak to me like that again.
Not exactly. I'm simply stating that if you are successful, myself or Artemis could have something for you to do. And you'd turn down funding for your journey? You won't win every battle you come across, and all those potions cost money. But suit yourself."
Sylvia think about it for a moment. "Now that you've put it that way it would be helpful to receive some financial aid once in a while, But I still hold my decision until after this mission is completed."
"I'd like to hear what you have to say before accepting or declining," Autumn says, "I think it'd be rude not to."
Russ nods. "Like pills, huh?" Russ is only focused on one thing right now, though. "So, you're the FIghting gym leader here, huh?"
"Of course, finish your old job first.
Hey, it's what comes up. It could even be as simple as having to pull guard duty one night for me, or a similar relay to what you're doing now. Oh, and some advice. Schedule your gym battles on the other side. Arte tends to get busy. Sudden 'hey, let's battle' matches will get you thrown out. Sometimes literally, depending on the presentation.
Pills? I do not know what you are talking about. And who said I train fighting types?" He points to Sigma. There was a smoking hole in the wall. And the one behind it. "Judge it, Sigma! I said be careful!" He rolls his eyes. "Does that look like the work of a fighting type? When we changed leaders here we changed specialization."
"Looks like the work of a fire, electric, or dragon type if you ask me," Autumn comments, if it's fire or dragon I wouldn't stand a chance in a gym battle here.
"Ah." Russ was disappointed, as he wanted to challenge the man. Oh well. "Yeah, I was asking what type shifters were." He said, nodding. "So, if you're not the Fighting gym leader, who is?"
"Well I will say that Sigma is an abnormality. I don't normally use him in battles. But no, I don't specialize in a type. Not all the Gyms do. If it can weather a long battle, that's my thing. Well, what I chose to specialize in. Not very good for my job, however.
Nobody. I am the leader of the Dojo. While fighting types are well liked here, I don't use them always, in part because it allows me to keep an edge over the others here."
You can almost heard a dramatic crack come from Russ. "Aw, man. I wanted to challenge Fighting gym leaders... maybe some other region! Or I can battle with some of the guys here." Russ quickly nods and then remembers. "Wait, what do you mean uncle Leonard's a liar. He's one of my dad's best friends, and my dad would never be friends with a liar. Always, he says, 'make sure you know who you're talking to' and 'you shouldn't blah blah blah.'"
"you said you're working on uniting the city. What can you tell us about why's so divided?" Sylvia questioned.
