'Nother house rule then? None of the canonical stories that include memory loss feature a loss of levels to go with it.

Eh, I wouldn't rule out the possibility of Psimax "farming" the place, but theres really no indication whether its the memory wipe or the reset that takes away any experience gained while in there... I say assume hes not getting experience unless it comes up later (though it does seem like something Minmax - and thus his alter egos - would likely do.)
If nothing else though, its pretty clear he has gained a fairly intimate knowledge of the place. Hes been studying it... Making sure he knows every turn before making his move. The others don't have this luxury, but he broke the dungeon (my guess is it was an accident that he discovered how to do it, but one hes running with).
So, technically, this prophesy's already been fulfilled (in all of the times before this almost 2,000,000th time). Or maybe the face was talking about an alternate reality? He was from the shield of wonder...
Also, I just started wondering what Forgirl must be thinking about all her alternate selves being male.
Probably nothing, given that her character is male. Also, they're not ALL male: bottom left.
Speaking of that comic, did anyone else notice that in the AR with the goblin in the party, Minmax is wearing a distinctive trapezoid pendant which reads "This is a helmet"?
I think that girl was who he was talking about.
Thunt mentioned on Twitter that in that reality, Forgath is already dead, and Minmax is depressed about it. Its probably just something he carries around in memory of dead Forgath.
Okay, I'm confused. We went from the door opening in the last comic to Psinimax killing a Forgath and a Kin in this one. Are these "our" Forgath/Kin, or Psinimax's? And if it's the former, what happened to our Minimax?
I'm talking about the characters, not the players. The female Forgath must have a few questions.
Glyph: That's the Forgath and Kin in Psimax's universe. Notice Kin's different hair, and Forgath's apparent fetish for knives. This is happening at the same time as our Minmax, Forgath, and Kin are talking in the previous pages.
The latter, Forgath is hard to discern (since the only shot he's missing his head) but Kin has different hair than our kin.
Also, there's a lot of complaints about this stuff, does anyone just see it from the same viewpoint as I do ie: "This is intense, I wonder what's going to happen!"
The hair, right. I wasn't certain if that was just lighting from a different angle, or my computer screen. They're different then, yeah.
What will happen, I wonder, when Psinimax and Minimax meet? Psi is clearly the 'boss' of the dungeon.
Registered in order to shed light on the lone Minmax in the "jedi outfit". Thunt has confirmed on live feed that he is indeed a sci-fi reference, but not Star Wars. He is a reference to
SpoilerAce Rimmer, from Red Dwarf.
What a guy.
His belt buckle probably says "Smoke me a kipper".
This might actually be the solution for the dungeon. Break the counter, get back your memories of all the times you've been through before, and suddenly you have a preset map with a list of traps and wrong turns you've encountered. Anyone who doesn't break the counter is still stuck going through the maze on a cherry run, where only blind luck could help them.
Indeed, sounds like something I'd throw in a dungeon like that.
One wonders how exactly this team formed. I mean, Psimax doesn't strike me as good company to begin with.
So he broke the thing probably by mistake, died, remembered it, died a few more million times, remembered those, probably spend a few resets just wanting to Get Out, can't find a way to do that either then SNAP! Crazy psion deciding to try the Ender's Game solution where the way to win is to be crazy enough to do something no one else would dare.
Maybe he's decided that the place was only ever a trap to begin with, the "eventual guaranteed win" was a lie, and that he was doing everyone a favor by freeing them from their futile hope. It's the sort of no-I-really-do-know-better-than-you-what's-best-for-you garbage a high mind can fall into. Especially in a stressful circumstance.
WMG: Psinmax is actually Tezzeret from Magic:The Gathering in disguise. He is there to find the secret of the teapot for Nicol Bolas! Just look at the arms for proof!

PsinMax's arms could be some form of Claws of the Beast, perhaps enhanced with a few more powers along the way. It's a very Psion/Psychic Warrior thing to do.
Some Kins are not wearing GS's collar, so they would be able to use their psionic powers too...
New comic.
SpoilerThe eye on NoseringMax's arm is kinda freaking me out.
The idea that Minmax would actually describe somebody as an idiot is... appalling. How dumb do you have to be?!
The other guy has MM carved into his shoulder.
He's trying to stab through the wall....
My guess here is that the stone blocking the door is attached to the same mechanism as both walls, so for, say, our Minmax to get out, he and his team have to push the spiky wall to the right right -- enough for a gap in the door-blocking stone to slide into place. Unfortunately, it also means pulling the other Minmax's spiky wall enough to the right to kill them.
I'm guessing the dungeon's like a tournament, then -- two (or more!) teams enter a room, one leaves, the rest die, rinse and repeat.
hehe this one made me lol:smallbiggrin:
Room looks like something you would see in tempts fate though.
Wouldn’t work. if our MM wants to move the spike-wall at all they will just wind up killing themselves. it might be that it's the hole-wall that moves, and each team needs to push it enough to exit through the other's door, thus requiring the other to die.
though that seems like something you would see in a saw movie.
I might guess that the first group to the door gets to exit and the other group dies.
I could see there being enough space in between the spikes to move the wall without dying. Maybe they need to hurt themselves to do it, which is part of the sadistic challenge. Or maybe they need something flat and hard, like a good shield, so they can push the spikes and thus the wall.
Why is pushing the hole wall more plausible? Both doors are closed. Woo, they made it to the... other closed door. Besides, there are lights hanging on the ceiling. It doesn't look like the wall's designed to move.
That's not much of a race. Forgath's pretty much there by the third panel. :smalltongue:
