Re: Murphy's Law (Thread 2!)
In my first ever d&d campaign, in the first encounter, a CR1 trap performed TPK.
The DM intervened and lowered it to one dart each. It still critted and knocked my partner unconscious.

Well, I avoid TvTropes for the life of me since I've had some bad experiences with my friends about it sooo...
You're not getting any help from me, sorry.

Re: Murphy's Law (Thread 2!)
It's a black hole and a scourge against all those with finite time. :smalleek:

Also, if you think Matt's unlucky, I'm playing in a PBP game here, and I've rolled a natural one in every single god-dammed post.
I'm DMing a PBP here, and one player was unlucky enough to roll 4 1's out of a possible 6d6.

Also, it's not exactly fair if I add tropes to my own comic, you know? :smalltongue:
Actually, TvTropes helped me get a 98 on my first English essay this year, and helped me earn lasting respect with my English teacher!
Update AND a banner on Friday!

Re: Murphy's Law (Thread 2!)
But seriously, I want the stats for a Dire Weasel trap. Are they launched out a spring-loaded trap mechanism, dropped from cages on the ceiling, or released from bolt-holes along the wall? :smallconfused:
I'm currently recruiting for a pbp game for a few of my friends, and I need some zanny traps and such to throw at them. :smalltongue:

...I honestly have no idea. I just put those in to add to the humor.
Oh. Oh my god. Yes. Step on a pressure plate, and dire weasels shoot out from bolt-holes along the wall. DEAR GOD YES!!!

Re: Murphy's Law (Thread 2!)
Here in Brazil, female elves are WAY sexier than humans.
Let's say "Niele" is a good example.

Re: Murphy's Law (Thread 2!)
Alright, how does this sound?
If the player triggers a pressure plate, spring-loaded launching mechanisms lining the walls and ceiling fling 2d4 Dire Weasels which do 1d4 gnawing damage each, and the target is Slowed and suffers 1d4+1 Ongoing Damage. Save Ends Both. Increase dice size at DM's discresion and/or sadism.
Also related trap Matt may know about - Bucket o' Axes, & Tingle Napalm.
Bucket o' Axes is, naturally, a bucket of axes. Set over a partially closed door, it does Level Equivalent damage to whoever walks through the door first, unless disarmed by a Thievery check. Tingle Napalm wreaths the target in fire, but rather than burning them, it gives them that annoying tingle sensation you get when your arm falls asleep. Only over their whole body. :smalleek:
Y'know, I actually have an idea for how to impliment these traps in my upcoming game... But I don't want to derail the thread any further.

Re: Murphy's Law (Thread 2!)
Thank you.
If you ever need crazy traps or silly plot hooks, just ask. :smalltongue: Would you like me to pitch the idea I had for the tomb that would feature those traps, or would that be too far off-topic?
Link's broke. :smallfrown:

Reminds of the Spring-Loaded Cat: (Coined by The Phantom of the Movies) The ubiquitous kitty that invariably jet propels itself out of closets and cabinets during horror movies, creating a false scare.

I suppose that I can try helping out (this is going to cause me to start and never stop isn't it?). However, I've never edited in TvTropes before, plus there's the issue that I can't go back and check things whenever I want due to my university not allowing me to see stuff on photobucket. I'll see what I can do.

Re: Murphy's Law (Thread 2!)
I feel sorry for Matt. I hate elves too! (but half-elves are awesome cause they have some human in them)

Albeit quite flat-chested; Radic's not exactly endowed and she's even smaller in that department.
Besides, there is precedent; look at Lirian. :smallwink:

Re: Murphy's Law (Thread 2!)
And Matt get's used as a landing pad, first by an elf, then by a cat.
What's up with the look on Janine's face in the last two panels?
And Radic looks like she's about to slap her hand over her mouth in the last panel.
CAT ATTACK! *Defends face from falling cats trying to use my face as a landing pad*

An elf just jumped out of a tree and landed on Matt, quickly followed by her cat. Of course she's like WTF?!
Radic's just rubbing her chin thoughtfully. It's a habit of hers; look at previous comics.

Re: Murphy's Law (Thread 2!)
I'm currently wondering how old this elf is. She talks like she's rather young; I bet she's not even 90 yet!

when i wanted my elf at 17-18 i'd put him at 146.
I put this one at 97, 98. At most.
