Merry Christmas to you too! :3

I can't believe I forgot to wish people a Merry Christmas on this thread... In any case, Merry Christmas everyone! Even though it's almost eight at night...
Even though it's nearly the end of the day, Merry Christmas people's.
You guys get watcha wanted from Santa? :smalltongue:
I did! :3
I got a new computer chair (a really comfy one), some Dr Who DVDs, some new clothes (mostly pajamas), a bunch of lolies/chocolates, a couple gift cards, some money and a coffee mug (It's M&M's themed and came with a box of chocolates. The face on it has an odd smirk, so I've dubbed it the "Coffee Smug" :smalltongue:).
Merry Christmas to you as well as everyone else!
I got a $60 Westfield Gift Card (which I didn't expect), an iron (Dad's "joke" gift), a bag of chocolates from an old church friend from when I was little (Jean, she hasn't changed a bit, bless her) and a big teddy bear from church.
Also, just so people know, not usually a churchgoer ever, mainly went 'cause Dad bugged me about it, was much better than I expected.
Not trying to reference religion or anything your modships, just.. yeah.
Oh and also... Practically getting a boyfriend for Christmas too. Just what I wanted.
I'll be in Brisbane for New Year's Eve. Who wants to make a meet up of it and watch the Fireworks with me?
Additionally, who wants to watch The Hobbit in Vmax HFR 3D with me on New Year's Day?
Cool, those dvd's are generally ridiculously expensive.
I got a pack of mustache cards as my joke gift, and congratulations on getting in a relationship :smalltongue:
I got some gift cards for JB and EB games, an encyclopedia on Marvel stuff, the mustache card things, some money, Injustice, tin full of lolly snakes, and a kiss from the girl I like. So just what I wanted as well. :smalltongue:
Hey, at least you remembered on the day. :smalltongue:
Happy Boxing Day people!
I do. But as I won't be in Brisbane, I don't think I really count.
And considering I'll be spending my New Year's Eve helping paint my church/early learning centre, I don't think I'll really be in the mood to do anything on New Year's Day.
I wonder if I should wear my sunglasses? That's cool, right?
Quick update: I've had a forumite contact me to say they'd like to see the fireworks, but want to do so anonymously. Perfect, two people who won't want photographs taken. :smallcool:
You in Elemental? Also, which timeslots are everyone in for? 8:30pm, midnight, or both.
Where do we want to be? I'm thinking South Bank, seems like the best spot from what I can gather. But you should be there early for a good spot.
Who wants to watch The Hobbit? This is important because I'd like to pre-book my ticket and they are allocated seats. If we don't all book around about the same time, we might be all over the place.
I'm in for either time, probably both, at most locations I can reach by train.
Gaaaah! Okay, well, I could possibly make it to the 8.30pm fireworks on new year's night, but I will probably be wanting to get the bus to this party of mine before they stop for the night.
I could be interested in The Hobbit at about 2.30pm or later.
Elemental: By being in for either time, I assume you mean fireworks? I'm definitely down for both, especially midnight.
On fireworks: How is everyone contacting each other in case of being unable to make it/find each other? I have a smartphone with internet access, and I will be checking the forums. Post here or PM me if you need to, otherwise we might want to get a central contact point for people to phone/phone everyone.
On The Hobbit: How's 2:30 PM, New Years Day (Jan 1st) at Brisbane City Myer Centre Event Cinemas sound? It will be the Vmax HFR 3D session (HFR = High Frame Rate, 48 FPS instead of the traditional 24 FPS on all other cinema presentations).
Assuming my sim card is still okay and my new phone arrives soon, you should be able to use my old number. Otherwise... I'm not sure :/
8.30pm fireworks at South Bank on New Years Eve, and The Hobbit at 2.30pm at Myer Centre on the 1st, right?
Word of warning, South Bank is likely to be PACKED. Might like to consider going somewhere like the park on Dornoch Terrace, but maybe not.
Dammit SMEE, you got me all excited :smallfrown:
8:30pm and midnight on New Year's Eve (Dec 31st) for the fireworks, yes.
2:30pm for The Hobbit at the Myer Centre on New Year's Day (Jan 1st).
Yes, it will be, thus we should get there early. Plenty of time to sit around and chat.
Alternative locations should be suggested and considered, but I've been told that this will both be the best and the cheapest.
going down to melbourne later (at about 10) haven't been there in a few years
any playgrounders in melbourne? :smallconfused: (may or may not try to organise a meet-up, if enough people would want to)
Yes, there are, I've met them and they were all nice people. Would meet again (guys, find me some short contract work down there that would at least pay the plane flights and accommodation and I'll visit again, willing to stay at someone's house to save on the accommodation).

FYI: If you have a Telstra mobile, Telstra landline, or other Telstra service, you can get tickets to this session for $16 + $1 glasses (save $1 if you already have 3D glasses) from this link: http://www.telstra.com.au/latest_off...es.html
Alternatively, RACQ also offers cheap tickets which may be valid for this session if you are an RACQ member.
Yes, I mean the fireworks. Going to both gives me the opportunity of going home early if I get tired.
Hmm... I have Serpentine's number, but I have no phone of my own. However, there is my anonymous friend, so I should be fine in that regard.
Shall I pack sandwiches?
Everyone has Serpentine's number. Wait, that didn't sound right. Everyone important has Serpentine's number. I nominate her as the central contact point in case of emergencies.
Is your imaginary friend's phone a smartphone, can it access the forums?
If you like, but there should be places open if you don't mind lots of queuing...
You should, however, all pack your 3DSes. We can play Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate.
Guys, I might have a phone number but I won't know whether I'll have a phone until I get home tomorrow evening...
Well, hopefully you will, or can borrow one. :smallwink:
I mean, it would be good for you in an emergency, even if you're not the central point of contact...

So, so far we have the following:
{table=head]Who|8:30|NYE|Hobbit
Me|Yes|Yes|Yes
Serpentine|Yes|No|Yes
Elemental|Yes|Yes|No
Elemental's Imaginary Friend|Yes|Yes|Yes[/table]
8:30pm and NYE fireworks are at South Bank on Dec 31. Be there early. The Hobbit is at 2:30pm at The Myer Centre on Jan 1 and will be in Vmax NFR 3D.
Anyone else? Any corrections?

BTW, has anyone made sure Mynxae knows it's on?
I've got this thread subscribed Rawhide. :smalltongue: But yes, I am aware that this is all happening, but I both don't really have enough money to go out as well as the fact I have my boyfriend over currently and we're spending New Year's Eve at my place. Probably drinking a bit. But thanks for the offer anyway.
Just one question, how early is early?
In that case, let me know what time you'll be getting there so I don't arrive too early.
