Durkon (as Vampire), High Priestess of Hoder, High Priest in Blue Robe, High Priest with Viking Helmet, Roy, Veldrina, Wrecan
It's early to make assumptions about priests' allegiances.
Anyone else excited that with 5 more appearances Wrecan becomes a Supporting character?
Here's hoping he makes it to 25 and his cameo portrait is immortalized - it would be fitting.
998: Celia, Heimdall (+1), High Priest in Blue Robe, High Priest of Heimdall (+1), High Priest of Hoder, High Priest of Loki (+2), High Priest of Odin (+1), Hinjo, Loki (+1), Mr. Scruffy, Phil Rodriguez, Roy (+1), Shojo, Vaarsuvius, Wrecan (+1)
The four other bodyguards get (+1); only the one in the kilt has appeared before. I think the grey-bearded dwarf bodyguard in 997 appears in the top right of panel 3, page 3.
The other priests to have appeared before are the man with three lines on his head, and the woman with earrings.
and the high priests of Loki and Heimdall were in the last panel. And e have titles so no speclation.

That's gonna take a while...
EDIT: Done!
Oh man, that's a heck of a lot to put in, Martinmister. Thanks so much for taking care of that!
I have two minor points to add: First, the Bodyguard Orc should be Bodyguard Half-Orc - orcs have tusks on both the top and bottom of their mouth, while half-orcs, like this bodyguard, only have tusks on one of them. Second, Heimdall appears on page 37 of Start of Darkness, so he should get a bonus appearance for that. (To those of you wondering why I didn't put that in spoilers: trust me, it really doesn't spoil anything worth mentioning.)
I don't see a High Priest with shaven hair. I see a bodygiard with shaven hair.
Also is the guy in the white robe with a blue sash in the list. People giessed he was the rep from the Southern Pantheon (so probably not a High Priest) but we do not know for sure.
Okay i have now systematically checked and I still think there is an error. Bodyguard Dwarf - can't see him, though I know who you mean from 997. Perhaps we can't see him in ths strip because he's Redcloaks' niece.
Was 998 the most complicated strip ever in terms of characters?
If you're not counting redshirts, there's this one.
Well, if you're not counting redshirts, then 998 wouldn't come particularly close anyway, since so many of the characters in it are random high priests and bodyguards.
We have names. we have names. So many names.
Since the gods themselves are speaking, looks like Odin needs a retroactive appearance for the yellow speech balloon in the previous strip.
...well this one's gonna be fun to count.
Bodyguard Half-Orc
Bodyguard with Kilt (+1)
Bodyguard with Side Shave (+1)
Durkon (as Vampire)
Heimdall (as proxy)
High Priest of Balder (appeared in 998)
High Priestess of Frigg (+1)
High Priest of Fenrir (+1)
High Priestess of Freya (was High Priestess Blonde)
High Priest of Freyr (appeared in 997)
High Priest of Heimdall
High Priest of Hel (as Durkon)
High Priestess of Hodor
High Priest of Loki
High Priestess of Mani (appeared in 998)
High Priestess of Njord
High Priestess of Odin (+2)
High Priestess of Sif (was High Priestess with Earrings)
High Priest of Skadi (+1)
High Priestess of Thor (was High Priestess Dwarf)
High Priest of Tyr
High Priest of Sunna (was High Priest with Shaven Hair) (+1)
High Priestof Vafthrudnir (+1)
Loki (as proxy) (+1)
Representative of southern pantheon (was in 997, 998 - was Priest in Blue Robe?)
Roy Greenhilt (+1)
Veldrina
Wrecan (+1)
Yes it was fun!
Marduk, Tiamat, and Ishtar as statues.
Don't all the gods need to be listed as well, since they have names and have spoken?
Grey Wolf
I agree we should specify their use of their High Priests as conduits for their voice (e.g., "Odin (through Odin High Priest)"), or if we want to throw in a LotR reference, as "Mouth of (god name)" (e.g., "Odin (as Mouth of Odin)"). But I believe it is fairly clear that the yellow speech bubbles indicate that what we hear is the god's voice, not that of the High Priest.
