Iglaf
"Very well then," Iglaf bows to the Sultan one last time, with a "your majesty" before turning and moving towards the doors.
"Now, does anyone want to hold on to this map? I can't make heads or tails of it." he whispers to the group.

Iglaf
"Very well then," Iglaf bows to the Sultan one last time, with a "your majesty" before turning and moving towards the doors.
"Now, does anyone want to hold on to this map? I can't make heads or tails of it." he whispers to the group.
Meier Qkel
The half-orc nodded to the Sultan as well, before turning. When he heard Iglaf's statement, he nodded. "I'm pretty good with geography; I'm pretty sure I can guide us there without too much trouble."
Taern
Taern also bows to the Sultan and waits to be dismissed.
Seilan bows as well, with a flourish of his cloak, and exits the audience chamber with the rest of the party, never turning his back.
You all move politely from the chamber back out into the waiting room, where the same guards are waiting with your weapons lined up in a rack next to the door. You retrieve them and the leading guard speaks again, "We will lead you outside. The palace is quite circuitous, and many get lost attempting to traverse its halls without a guide." He leads you through the palace and out the front gates rather than the side entrance you took before. You walk out onto the bustling market street, which runs from the massive palace at the center all the way to the gates at the city's edge.
Seilan
SpoilerYou scoff slightly under your breath at the comment of getting lost. You know these halls fine.
Savian
Once we are all ouside the Sultan's Palace Savian asks: "Does anyone else need to get some supplies? I would like to buy some food and get some water before we start. Maybe some other stuff would be useful as well. Anyone else?"
Taern
"Perhaps we might go have a light meal first. We can talk about what supplies we might need for this expedition, and then go get them together. I would also like to just learn a bit more about you all."
"Fine with me. Any recommendations?"
Seilan nods and smiles, "An excellent idea. Follow me." If the group follows, Seilan leads them through a couple of alleys to a small, bustling bar. "How's this?" he asks.
Taern
Taern is puffing a bit to keep up with the others as they wind through the alleys. When they arrive he looks at the press of people in the small establishment, then down at the panther at his side.
"Looks...busy. I was thinking somewhere quiet, where we might sit and talk," he says after a moment, somewhat apologetically. "And while my companion is well trained, taking her into such a small, crowded bar seems...unwise. There are plenty of teahouses in the merchant quarter. The Green Lotus, perhaps."
"If your pet is a problem maybe we could buy some food and eat it somewhere peaceful, outside the city. I don't really mind where I consume my food."
OOC @guardinal: your color is DarkGreen, using my DarkSlateGrey is confusing :smallwink:
Taern
"But then we'd have to come back in, if it turns out that we need to get supplies. I think the Green Lotus will be perfectly fine...quiet, open, not so crowded. It isn't far."
Taern waits to see what the group wants to do.
Seilan nods contemplaintively. "Of course, I should have considered that." Mentally he cursed himself, the superior man always places others before themselves.
Seilan and Taern:
SpoilerYou both know of the Green Lotus, a calm and well known teahouse in the merchant quarter, possibly a good spot to talk, and close to supplies. You also both know of and have stayed at the Slumber Sand Inn, the biggest inn in the city, which generally has some quiet back rooms for customers who want them, and is more comfortable of a place when it comes getting a room. It is quite a bustling place however, in general.
"If a safe place to converse is our problem I do have a home in this city."
Seilan laughs, "Seems the Sentinels have grown lax, not got an eye for foreigners at all. But yes, that sounds wonderful."
Taern
Taern smiles. "Indeed. Lead on, saer."
Savian
"That is a great idea!"
With a nod he says "This way.", and starts down a side street.
After about a 20 minute walk that takes you most of the way to the edge of the city, you come to a worn down home. Many of the windows are broken, and plants are long overgrown, what is particularly odd is the door. It is unusually tough looking but appears to have taken quite a beating over the years, before you can ask about this you get your answer. Barazinbar gives a great kick to the door; it swings open and amazingly it stays on it's hinges, its sturdy design held.
With a mighty bellow he shouts "I'm back, out of my house!" and you think you can here people scrambling out the back of the building.
Iglaf
Iglaf stands, puzzled by the exchange.
"Who...?" he mutters quietly, not sure exactly what question to ask.
Seilan starts at the sounds but then realizes it was only squatters. They had a habit of occupying the run down hovel's on Serdet's outskirts. Although Seilan had never heard of anyone allowing them the use of their house before. He shrugs and follows Barazinbar inside.
Taern
Taern watches the dramatic entrance with a raised eyebrow and follows the others into the house.
If there is a place to sit Taern does so; otherwise he leans against a wall. He pulls out a handful of small, ripe figs that look unusually lush and ripe. He offers two to the panther walking beside him, who looks up at him with some reproach before delicately claiming them from his hand and swallowing them whole. He pops one in his mouth and offers the rest to the group.
"These are goodberries, for anyone who is hungry." he says.
Savian
"Thank you!" Savian says, accepting the offered berries.
Noticing some confused expresions "Only squatters, when you travel through the desert for twenty years at a time, people tend to think that the place is abandoned."
Seilan nods, "Well, now that we're here, we should become aquainted. What brings all of you to Serdet?"
Savian
"Once I had to fight in order to survive. Now I travel the world, looking for causes to fight for. It seems I have found one here, one that even pays well. The best of causes usually don't."
Taern
"I am called Taern," the older man says quietly. "My companion is Bubastis. I have been out in the wastelands for most of the last year. I came to call on an old friend and catch up on local doings."
OOC:
SpoilerJust a reminder, we haven't learned some of the other PC's names IC.
Savian
Savian nods to Taern "The name is Savian"
"I go by Barazinbar, I am here because that was my last order."
Taern
"Ordered by whom, if I might ask?"
