Re: WW Classic XIV - Tea Strainers of Terror! - Recruiting
I have good news and I have bad news.
The bad news is that I have to withdraw. :smallfrown: I really wanted to play a game of Classic.
The good news is that my dad told us yesterday that his chest has been tight and/or painful for about three weeks. He finally said something about it.
Figures....
So off to the hospital we went, where he had a small heart attack last night. No damage though, so it's ok. He needs a triple bypass.
So why is this good news?
This is good news because they're going to fix him so that he won't keel over dead on us unexpectedly any time soon, like he probably almost did numerous times over the past month without ever knowing it.
Sop I'm going to be taking care of him for a while, and I'd probably forget to even check on the game if I stayed in, so alas, I must withdraw.
But I'll make sure to hop into one when he gets back on his feet again.

I hope your dad is okay, Shadow.

Best wishes to your dad Shadow. I was really looking forward to playing with someone who I've heard is an excellent player, but your stuff sounds a bit more important. :smallwink:

...This is the third person I know of who discovered they had heart problems and/or heart attacks in the last three months. I'm starting to think there's something going around.
Best wishes and hopes for a speedy recovery.
EDIT: Baahhhh, I'll join the game.

Re: WW Classic XIV - Tea Strainers of Terror! - Recruiting
I will be re-opening the Wolves Bane again.
Empty shot glasses will again be placed upside down on the shelf for all the dead.
And I'm sure that I will once again be beheaded, and the bar urinated in desecrated by Wolves.

In, with CAKE! ...or DEATH!

Re: WW Classic XIV - Tea Strainers of Terror! - Recruiting
Sorry to hear that Shadow, best to the both of you.
38 players now, and a co-narrator, not doing too bad! There's another week of sign-ups, then we'll get started.
-
Re: WW Classic XIV - Tea Strainers of Terror! - Recruiting
Good thing it's not 38 co-narrators and one player. :elan:

Re: WW Classic XIV - Tea Strainers of Terror! - Recruiting
Update for anyone interested:
They did a quad instead of a triple. Smooth as silk. The Doc said that when they took him off the heart/lung machine he heart started up like a Corvette.
After the surgery, when they got him to ICU, but before we were allowed to see him, my aunt came downstairs. My uncle was/is upstairs after a knee surgery and it happened to be his birthday. So she brought down cake and we celebrated his birthday without him.
As I said on Facebook for those of you that saw it, people give you funny looks when you're eating cake and laughing in the ICU waiting area.
Oh yeah, and they were planning on leaving him intubated until this morning. When he started snoring in the middle of the night while still sedated they decided to yank the tube.
Figures.
Even when he's sedated with a giant tube down his gullet, he still won't stop snoring. So all is well.
And if things keep moving at the rate they have been I'll be signed up again by the end of next week.

Re: WW Classic XIV - Tea Strainers of Terror! - Recruiting
Well, that's good news. And slightly humorous.
Still kind of upsetting/sad/whatever that he had to be there in the first place, though :smallfrown:

...This is *somewhat* humorous, in hindsight.

Glad it was the former; hope everything continues to go well shadow.

Re: WW Classic XIV - Tea Strainers of Terror! - Recruiting
Woah, how did I almost miss this one? In of course.
-
Re: WW Classic XIV - Tea Strainers of Terror! - Recruiting
What does that make it now? 41?
People aren't kidding when they say Classic has no trouble gathering players.
-
Re: WW Classic XIV - Tea Strainers of Terror! - Recruiting
Never been in a game this large before, unless you count Central.
To rephrase my previous statement, this will be an interesting game at the least.
-
Re: WW Classic XIV - Tea Strainers of Terror! - Recruiting
Just out of curiosity, how much longer will the signups be up? I'm sure it's in here somewhere, but, ya know, laziness. :smalltongue: Anyways I've been trying to pressure a friend of mine into playing werewolf games with me and I want to know how much longer I have. :smallwink:
EDIT: Nevermind. It's right there on the front page!

Re: WW Classic XIV - Tea Strainers of Terror! - Recruiting
I'm gonna be gone from the 21st to the 22nd, so I'll probably miss the first day.
-
Re: WW Classic XIV - Tea Strainers of Terror! - Recruiting
Pops is doing extremely well and only needs a few hours attention each day, so pencil me back in.

Re: WW Classic XIV - Tea Strainers of Terror! - Recruiting
I'll join. I might even write a fancy 'I'm in' message later, if I remember (or look up) the rules for haiku.
