Besides, there is precedent; look at Lirian. :smallwink:
 A clearly female elf?!?!?! Aww man. :smallfrown: I was hoping this would turn into a "let's identify Varrsuvius's gender" debate.

Now, if she was gender-ambiguous, GOT AN ARMY FROM EVERY RACE THAT CAN FIGHT? it would make shipping more... interesting.

Let's get back on track.
CoffeeIncluded, I don't know how, but you have managed to update faster than Darklord Bright, master of fast updates.

...that's a good point. :smalleek:

Re: Murphy's Law (Thread 2!)
Coffee, Fir looks nice. Though, I imagined he had sort of a pattern to his fur coat. It would fit his personality better I think.

Re: Murphy's Law (Thread 2!)
A new update?!
Coffee! If we get spoiled rotten, it will be entirely your fault!
Not that I mind, of course...
Is this the last party member? Quite convienient that excatly what they needed (literally) fell down from the sky. Well, tree. And on Matt, as is only fitting.:smallamused:
A cat character in the comic! I love cats!!
Okay, I'll try produce a at least half-intelligent comment.
Hmm...
...hmm... I love Matt's expressions when the elf/cat fall on him!
The elf's clothes are quite colourful; she has a blue cloak! I love colour blue!
Okay, obviously nothing smart is coming out now.. But since it's over 2 AM here, I hope I'm forgiven.:smalltongue:

Re: Murphy's Law (Thread 2!)
Lix, Darklord, please try to stay on topic.
But thanks, guys! And I've got ANOTHER update for tomorrow or Saturday morning!
...Then back to the "Friday updates" until Memorial Day. After that, it's back to this wonderful, wonderful schedule FOR THE ENTIRE SUMMER!

I'm currently wondering how old this elf is. She talks like she's rather young; I bet she's not even 90 yet!
Or she could be as hyper as I am. :P

I might add that I had a hand in helping create this character. Right Coffee?:smallamused:

Re: Murphy's Law (Thread 2!)
YAY, NEW UPDATE!! ^___^
And an obviously female elf?! :smalleek:
Thank you! I was worried we'd have to argue and debate it, and this balances out the party and adds more possible character interaction/developement/relationships! Excellent!
Although... a hyper elf? I just realized how odd that is. Elves are normally reserved, self-controlled, and stoic. This one is... not. Should be interesting to see more of her... :smallconfused:

Please. Is this the type of comic that will blindly follow species-wide stereotypes? :smallamused:
And yes Silverraptor, you helped me with the inspiration here.

I'm actually a Tolkien reader.
In general or in this comic? Elves have just been portrayed that way by most fantasy authors since Tolkien. Tolkien's elves were actually different in several ways (most notably, they couldn't die of old age). A lot of fantasy authors (including myself) didn't want elves to be immortal in their setting, so they felt free to borrow more from more recent sources. Once people are convinced that something is true about a fantasy race, you had better have a good reason for changing it or you risk people not seeing it as the race you called it. (Note: MANY things are a good reason).
Anyway. I worked out how to edit TvTropes and have made some additions to the Murphy's Law page. However, clicking main entry still redirects to Finagle's law which is a problem that I don't know how to rectify.

D&D elves are canonically smaller than humans, but it varies. Tolkien's Noldor elves were quite a bit taller than humans, for example. But the influence of Gygax is far-reaching. He said elves were smaller and so... they are smaller still.
-
Re: Murphy's Law (Thread 2!)
they just arent as small as the "elves" who work for Santa. those are totaly gnomes, or at the most Dwarfs.

...Not really. All the characters have a tiny characteristic of me. You start out with a character who has a tiny characteristic like yours, even if it's a simple as a chocolate addiction, and you use that as a sort of building block, so you can get inside the character's head better, and then the character becomes a character all their own, and that seed is still there, but the rest is different.
This new girl may share my hyperness, but she is NOT me. She's just as wonderfully flawed as the rest of the characters.

Murphy's Law is already a trope. I had to make the namespace "Web/MurphysLaw," which according to syntax, makes it a subpage, just as "TroperTales/SkinshipGrope" is a sub-page of "SkinshipGrope"

Does this mean that Coffee is unflawed? :smallconfused:
I think it does. :smallwink:
