Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds
Plains
The group of monsters sniff the air, but for the most part seems preparing to take a pause in their hunt for prey. The large one rests in the center of the group, while the smallest ones are on the edges.
Currently, they haven't noticed Freddy or Morbit.

Acacia manages to pull up enough that, although the tusk hits her left thigh, it only scores a glancing blow rather than goring it. She screams in pain - it's still a bad injury, but not an immediately crippling one. Her thigh is lacerated and bleeding heavily, but she can still use her leg.
She continues to climb until she's out of range of the tusks and blows a dart from the blowgun she keeps around her neck. The darts are dipped in poison harvested from local jungle plants, which means the boar creature may have resistance or immunity. She's aiming for the eyes.

Ha!
This will be easy!
Freddie shoulders the Claw of Chatturgath, the weapon taking on a rather rifle-like appearance as the Huldra aims at the closet critter.
And then?
A small iron projectile is launched at the dinosaur at incredible speeds! Pew pew, bullet! Freddie is rather surprised by the recoil and the Claw goes spinning out of hisr grip.
Whoops!

Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds

And there goes one of the small beasts. Unfortunately, this attracts the attention of the rest of them.
The largest beast spots Freddy, and let's out a wolflike howl, which causes the pack of the smaller beasts to swarm out in Freddy's direction, while the not so small ones gets themselves up from off the ground.

Aiming for the boar monster's eyes is hard - they're small and beady compared to the size of its head. It probably relies more on its smell and hearing than sight.
Still, the dart hits the soft skin near the eye. It seems to slow the razormane down a little, but it doesn't seem to have noticed it much yet. It lets out a roar, lowers its head, runs forward and smashes into the tree Acacia is sitting on.

Acacia hears a howl in the distance, and recognizes her mate. He'd obviously heard her scream and was coming to help.
Dammit, Furball, this is my kill... :smallmad: is the thought that goes through her mind.
Then the razorback lowers its head for a charge. Perfect. She wouldn't have attempted another leap when it might knock her out of the air, but now she has a moment when its focused on hitting a tree instead of her.
She drops out of the tree again, just before it hits, with the intention of grabbing hold of its neck and punching into its jugular with a dagger.

Trisha gives a small nod at Michicora's response before putting her sword away and pulling off her socks to run her feet through the grass with a small sigh of relief. "I'm a bounty hunter to make money, so I suppose I hunt people for the most part. Haven't tried anything here yet."

Morbit glows white as it activates its illusion abilities to create a ball of light to fly up into the air behind to one side. The light's not above Morbit, although it's IME might mean that Morbit is spotted anyway. The purpose of the light is to distract the creatures attacking Freddy.
Morbit doesn't stay still for long, it's constantly moving. Headed primarily towards the dead dino-critter.

Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds

Uh oh!
Things!
Things which probably want to nom Freddie! Not sure how well that will work out for them, but it looks like we'll soon find out. The first beast to rush himr will find itself charging right into one of those flame-covered tails of hisr, the limb lashing out to cleave into the animal's face.
Blade-like AND really hot. A winning combination right there.
Just in case that isn't enough the Huldra BLARGHS a gout of ghostly blue flames out of hisr mouth! The foxfire will cling to whatever it sticks to like napalm. Ouch!

Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds

Morbit attempts to attack one of the smaller creatures. It'll attack from the side, darting in quickly and biting and stabbing with its tail before retreating back into the grass. Morbit's teeth are those of a pig, and rather sharp, whilst the tail has a wasp's stinger complete with venom on the end. It's only wasp venom, but Morbit's larger than a wasp so there's more poison injected.
Morbit's aim with the bite is to gain blood, which it can analyse for useful hereditary abilities, one of which it will copy.

"For money?" Michicora asks, raising an eyebrow. "Guess we all need to live but now you hunt for hate, yes?" It felt strange to even ask that but at least she could look at Trisha while she was speaking at her. She was thankful her pupils weren't visible thought.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds
[Plains]
Did the swarmy things avoid the flame-thrower breath? Or was it forgotten?
Anywho!
Finding an opening on Freddie may prove difficult. Hisr four tails strike like serpents, aiming to spear or cleave anything that gets too close to himr. And the Claw of Chatturgath somehow ended up in hisr hands again in the form of a polearm.
She moves deftly and with grace, though if they all jumped himr at the same time it might be difficult to avoid the attack.
Should the not so small critter leap at Freddie she'll aim to ram the polearm into its underbelly and use its own momentum to hurl it over hisr back.

"So what do you want to hunt?" Michicora asks, glad to have a common subject. With a woman no less. She hadn't met many female hunters in her days, the last one had been Hope but that... was a closed chapter of her life.

Trisha rolls up her pant leg to look at her wound again, and with a slight nod, removes the bandage before tossing it into the fire. Oddly, the "blood" on it seems to burn a dark green color. "Anything really, but I should be hunting something smart enough to hunt us back. Or at least be able to show that it isn't just an animal or beast."

Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds
[Wilderness]
"Might be hard to track that down. But we could try. I need a few hours of meditation first however. Such creatures tend to be awake in the daylight hours so we might need to wait anyway." The elf replies, letting her gaze fall on the wound meanwhile. That was a bit odd but she still was convinced Trisha wasn't some monster. She was just another type of servant which served a kami rather then a god.

Acacia lands on the razorback and manages to hold onto its neck just as it smashes into the tree, which shakes violently - if Acacia hadn't jumped off, she might have had trouble staying on it. As it is, her attempts to hit the creature's jugular are successful, and blood pours out. However, just as she manages to do so, the beast roars, turns around and tries to hit the tree with its back, hoping to squish the little ape.

"I'll keep watch then." Trisha says before going to the top of the nearby hill and taking a seat. After a while, assuming that Michicora goes into meditation, Trisha pulls out a small bag from her belt and opens it up to the sound of water sloshing around. The slight scent of lilac coming from it makes her smile and once she gets a rag, she begins to scrub her skin. Just because she wasn't alive, doesn't mean that she wants to smell dead. The pouch had cost her a year's worth of earnings, but the ability to always have access to clean water was priceless.
Even though she's somewhat distracted, she's still more than able to keep an eye out for any creatures headed their way. Should none attack, she'll be there when dawn arrives.

Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds
Rainforest
Acacia doesn't guess what the beast is about to do in time to dodge. She's trying to drag the knife through its neck when she's suddenly smashed hard into the tree. She escapes without any broken bones but she's heavily bruised and stunned. The trick is successful in its goal, and she falls off its neck. She hangs for a moment with her weight on the knife before her dazed mind tells her to let go.
A three metre drop is something Acacia can handle with ease if she is prepared. But with her vision tunnelling and the left side of her body screaming in pain, she can't react in time, and only the thick vegetation keeps the fall from finishing her off. As it is, she's having to fight hard just to keep from slipping into unconsciousness. It's the only thing she can do, as she waits for the beast to end her.

Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds
[Rainforest]
Bleeding from a neck wound and having to deal with a spear still stuck in its back, it takes the razorback a moment to turn around and focus on the irritating little ape that caused it pain. When it finally manages to do so, it takes a step forward and tries to stomp its hoof on Acacia's chest, putting most of its considerable weight behind it.

Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds
[Wilderness]
The elf closes her eyes as she start to meditate but the sound of water calls for her attention as Trisha starts to wash herself off. She opens her eyes but quickly closes them again.
That was not something she meant to see.
The temptation to look again is great but she didn't want to make more of a creep then she already was. Never the less, the image of Trisha still stayed in her head as a reminder of her own flawed morality. Hopefully she would get used to be near a woman soon enough, she couldn't keep doing this.
And after a few moments of deep concentration she manages to repress the image and go back to peaceful meditation.

Well... the dragon's gone. Though something's bothering Ruber. He can't quite...
Ah well, he'll think of it later.
The scales are tempting, probably worth a lot, but Ruber has his own set and really didn't need to tow around any more.
Besides, that's not the problem. It was something else...
That woman... where was the woman? There are four of them now, where's the woman that he'd found fighting the dragon at first?
Ah well. It needn't concern him, and even had he known she was trapped under ice, it's doubtful it would concern him then either. Ruber was only here for a fight. And now that that's over, rather than seek a new fight, he turns to leave the hunting grounds. He'll need to fix his First morph before he can do much else.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds
[Desert]
Dragon is so totally dead.
And the scales and bones left behind aren't just your average scales and bones. They're made of Blue Ice. Pure elemental gemstones. They can be used to make some pretty nifty magical items.
But if the shifter insists on departing...
Also!
Electricity produces heat when moving charge from an area of high potential to an area of low potential. If the charge has nowhere to go then no heat is generated. Just like how a hydroelectric generation won't make any electricity if water isn't moving.

The boar will find its side being barreled into by a huge werewolf, roughly 8ft tall and heavily muscled. Furball gives a roar as he does so, trying to protect his mate.

When morning comes, Michicora will find Trisha putting her armor back on methodically and the rest of the gear packed. "Any idea which terrain we should head to next?" She asks.

Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds

Acacia is just going to lie here and try to catch her breath after the double whammy of the tree slam and 3 metre fall. She's barely able to register that she just got rescued from certain death by her mate. She's going to be out of the fight for at least one or two rounds, and maybe more, while she tries to recover her senses. (Which is to say - carry on without me until I decide to jump in again.)

Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds

Just as the razorback is about to finish Acacia off and probably eat her, Furball hits it like a cannonball. It staggers and almost falls, then gives a pained squeal as it tries to swipe at the werewolf with its paw.

Furball raises his arm to try and catch the incoming paw, to wrap his arm around it and hold it still so he can give the shoulder joint a powerful blow from a hooked warhammer, trying to shatter it completely.

As he runs, sword held in one hand, Damon makes a small ball of black fire form in his other hand and throws it in an overarm motion, aiming to hit the dragon's wing ideally. On impact the fire will immediately start to spread rapidly across the creature, which would be rather painful...and will also start to suck in the light and threaten to envelop the dragon in darkness.
If it misses, it'll fizzle out. Damon isn't particularly happy to have to work with this other fellow, but he'll at least be kind enough not to set him on fire.
Oh hey, Damon has decided to get involved now.
With fire.
Now, when Yolvich ran over and drew his blade across the wyrm's hide, it proceeded to bleed and growl.
A reasonable, calm reaction.
But when that ball of fire flew near, the dragon flips out just a little, jerking away from both of the men in a burst of wind.
Black, pink, or orange, fire looks like fire and it seems this particularly monster is really not very fond of it.
Which would explain why it spends a moment deliberately trying to expunge the flames with trails of wind, rather than trying to bite off Yolvich's head or something.
Fire scary!
