I really liked this chapter, both how Urtear for a while managed to make me belive she had killed Rogue, and the situation that made her change her mind.
And that certainly was a solid clifthanger we got there, though i really dont think its enough to get though the plot armor of a main cast member, then i still want to see how the situation is resolved

I think you need to read this chapter.

Um...holy ****. I mean...a part of me REALLY thinks this will get time magiced away because it's GREY we're talking about, he's the secondary main character. There is NO way he's dead for real.
Also, Scissor Runner is a REALLY stupid name. Revire is less so since it's not two words put together.

I'd argue the hero eating someone's heart is still darker :smalltongue:

I forot about that. I hope this turns out to be a stupid translation for "someone doing something really stupid and dangerous".

Well yes, it is, but the door is open for darkness.
Naw, from what I can tell it's more or less "correct".

If i had to guess whats going to happen i'd say either Wendys going to get to show off her healing powers or Grey made an Ice clone, seems to be abit to much blood for a clone though.

Agree, its not even close.

While it'd certainly be interesting and dramatic if Gray died here, I'm personally guessing that it's a clone or illusion meant to goad Juvia into going all vengeance-mode on the dragon. Not sure how that will work out.

Re: Fairy Tail II: Second Generation Thread Slayers
Hmm this is shonen so I'm totally not buying it. Its either a trick or will be undone before the end of the arc.
Would be REALLY gutsy to do it that suddenly and stick with it though.
Afterall....

First up, good on you, Ultear. Don't give in to despair! The first step to recovery is realizing that you have a problem. ;)
I quite like that Ultear is having this moment, more seriously. I was always a little surprised that she didn't get any blame for being responsible for almost everything bad that happened in the first half of the series.
As for Grey... whoof.
I'm pretty sure that he's still alive - not many people have died and stayed dead in Fairy Tail, especially not good guys. On the other hand, Simon stayed dead, and this would lead to unnecessary drama, so he might stay dead for a while.
We shall see.

Are we sure that 'Scissor Runner' isn't just a bad translation? Remember this is still fan translation.
He may have intended the dragon to be named "Blade Runner" or something similar that doesn't translate well, and the translator just goofed on it.

I'm pretty sure it's meant to be Scissor Runner. Same with Atlas Flame and such.
From the Fairy Tail Wiki...
Motherglare (マザーグレア Mazāgurea)
Atlas Flame (アトラスフレイム Atorasufureimu)
Hmm, Scissor Runner doesn't have an entry like this yet. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

I am pretty sure Grey isnt insensitive enough to pull a stupid move like this.
Especaly since as a regular wizard she wouldnt be able to do anything anyway.

Can she drown a dragon?
I am assuming she goes after one that isn't amphibious...:smalleek:

There have been a lot of not so subtle hints that there's more to Juvia than meets the eye. There's a lot of fan speculation that she might actually be a Water Elemental with a human form rather than vise versa.

Still how would Gray KNOW that. Honestly I think Gray is actually dying but I am not sure if it will stick. Maybe Juvia will fill the holes with some kind of magic water type thing that allows him to live? Would be weird but I could see something like that. Ice clone would be lame though, ice clones don't make massive amounts of blood and the other ice mage and water mage present should be able to recognize it decently well >.>

I really dont think she can do anything besides being blown away if she tries to.

Does sound like that isnt anything but speculation, and the Water elemental part is more or less proven wrong by her flashback in the guild war arc.
-
Re: Fairy Tail II: Second Generation Thread Slayers
I'm asking myself "What hints?" personally.
Can we even confirm there are water elementals in Earth Land to get this speculation started?
-
Re: Fairy Tail II: Second Generation Thread Slayers
Yeah, while her skill set is very unique nothing we have ever seen even points towards the existence of Water Elementals or anything like that. The only thing - apart from some weird character traits but this is Fairy Tail - that points towards Juvia not being human is her one skill. I'm not buying it.
edit:
Taking bets on Gray's fate.
1) Stays dead (hahahaha)
2) Resurrection by time travel
3) Clone all along.
4) Not quite dead yet, sir.
5) ???
-
Re: Fairy Tail II: Second Generation Thread Slayers
Ill place 10.000 beri on 2) Resurrection by time-travel.
It certainly does look like several fatal wounds, but i dont belive the author is hard enough to kill a member of the main cast.
And considering we just got introduced to time travel... :smalltongue:
-
Re: Fairy Tail II: Second Generation Thread Slayers
Has Wendy used her new "Galaxy" (Or whatever it was called spell), because i'll go for 5) That.

I'll take number 2 with a side order of number 4.
However we should divide that one into two clear possibilities:
2A) Temporal paradox shenanigans
2B) Ultear actually can effect humans after all (possible sacrifice play)

My Money is on 5) Sacrifice save by Ultear.

Re: Fairy Tail II: Second Generation Thread Slayers
My money is on 5) Juvia pours water from herself into Grey until he becomes a water thing like her, thus allowing him to reconstitute after awhile, and ensuring that they have to be together forever.
That, or Ultear killing herself to time warp Grey back.

Re: Fairy Tail II: Second Generation Thread Slayers
Urgh, I'll have to admit to not considering that. It would be in line with the recent focus on Ultear's character... and considering how her magic doesn't care about plants either. Maybe Gray is in fact a plant? We'll have to see....

Loved the "aaah, I considered doing something Eeeeevil for, like, two seconds ! I don't deserve to live any more !". I know Ultear has serious self-loathing issues, but that was just ridiculous.
It is also convenient that this one-minute precognition doesn't work for the dragons, eh ?

It did, but for them they saw them wining, so they wouldn't change what they were going to do. Only the humans would.
Also, even though I knew this was going to happen, I do love how Ultear dies not knowing she saved everyone with that "one minute" of life.
