I stopped being surprised when I read that Lixie (your nexus persona, i think? can't remember) was somehow in multiple monogamous relationships at once. :smalltongue:

My net persona. And yeah, it involves clones. :smalltongue:

I have a theory about that... it would make a fantastic TV show.

Matter and Energy?

A joke like that was made in the last Bibliography thread. Go down about two thirds of the page, it starts with one of Qaera's posts.

So I made ponified versions of all of Team Gale (except Tinder, since he's a dragon, but I'm going to try something with that) on the hub ponymaker game. Now to put them on inkscape...
Why not just draw him as a dragon like Spike?:smalltongue:

We did just say this was Lix, right?
Cause making sense was obviously not a point.

Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
Einstein's equation is possible because God said "I care about energy",

High Sorcerer Newton's First Law of Magic-Science Relations:
An object within physics remains in physics, unless acted upon by something outside physics.

Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
Coffee, when I read that you used inkscape I was pleasantly surprised because I've been playing with that program to work on art for my website .. yay vectors! I wanted to make something that can stretch to fit tablet screens when zooming in without getting pixelated ;)
Anyway... then I found a tutorial on drawing OOTS style chars with inkscape and I've been playing with that, let's just say I had no idea that it took so long to draw these lol (I just figured some people were incredibly adept with their tablets!)
and.. inkscape is such a kickass drawing program. Everyone should try it out lol.
Anyway, I thought I'd share a drawing.. sorry for copying Serrin, she's my favorite character (and then I tried to OOTS-ize myself lol)

Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
Haha, it's fine! And thanks. I'm working on the comic as we speak; HOPEFULLY it'll be up by at least the start of next week. By the latest.
Also, another use for inkscape: Drawing organic chemistry reaction mechanisms, then manipulating them in space. Useful if I forgot to bring my modeling kit with me.
-
Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
lol, modeling kits :D I haven't used one of those in a long time, but my device physics class is jumping into chemistry right now. I'm loving it lol. Good luck with everything :)

^ This is pretty much why I decided to study engineering:smallcool:, good one.

[Accent=Scottish]Bah! Ye engineers can build stuff, but I CAN BLOW IT TE SMITHEREENS![/Demoman]
And you probably don't know how to run a bead. So ya gotta hire people like ME who DO!

The first part is me pretending to be the Demoman from Team Fortress 2.

Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
Ah I see, I haven't played TF in my life..
-
Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
A quick search yields that "running a bead" relates to arc welding. :) I wouldn't be surprised if some engineers knew how to do that.. but I do appreciate other people's work ;)
TF2 is a funny game :)
-
Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
I am actually learning how to wield using electrodes (I think the correct term in English is Shielded metal arc wielding)
-
Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
I'm taking welding and woodworking, and will probably take Electronics and Computer Programming. Building appeals to me more than designing in most cases (ranged weapons seem to be the exception. Rifles, bows, crossbows... I love reading up on designs for those).
-
Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
I love building; but designing appeals to me just as much (if not more), so I am taking some course so I can do both.
-
Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
But designing is building! It's building WITH YOUR MIND! You can take a piece of paper and a pencil, and with nothing else but your own intelligence, you can construct a virtual device in the imagination of whoever looks at your design. The only thing left to do after that is to transfer that idea to reality.
Storytelling is also like building - you construct an entire world, an entire universe with people that have motivations and emotions, all in the minds of whoever is listening to you or reading your story. I guess this is why both engineering and writing appeal so much to me.
-
Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
You can tell a character is good when you stop telling them how they react to a situation, and start asking them if your plans are alright.
(At which point they tend to say no.)
There's a good question!
Coffee, have any of your characters rebelled against your plot yet? If so, can you tell us who and how?

I agree with you on principle; but I think Jade Dragon and I meant building physical things.

I'll remember this when it comes time for my organic chem class.

You're only crazy if your character talks back :smalltongue:
