Eophyn
SpoilerThe cave goes pretty deep. You can't see anything as far as you can see into it.
Eophyn
She backed away from the cave entrance. "I think we lost the element of surprise. I can't see anything in there but I definitely hear gnolls."
"Your call guys, but I would suggest the greatest strategy even invented. Lets turn back and run like hell!" Serph yells and starts running away, hoping Eophyn and Dromet will follow.
Dromet will try to light the stack of wood hastily.
Spoilerwhat is that? a survival check? [roll0]
Eophyn
"Serp, we were hired to do a job!" she yells at her retreating friend.
"We don't know how many of them are going at us! Our job won't get done if we get killed!" Serph stops, turns back and yells at Eophyn. "We need to retreat! Now!"
Eophyn
She shakes her head, turns to the cave and stands her ground with her blade in hand ready to use.
"Oh for the love of..." Serph yells, but, after a moment picks up his bow, puts an arrow and runs to get on the top cave, to shoot Golls from behind.
"But if we're gonan die, it's all your fault."
"Will you shut up, I need to concentrate," Dromet says as he fiddles with the sticks.
As Dromet lights the flames, Eophyn can clearly hear multiple footsteps running towards them from inside the cave. By her guess it will only be a minute or two before they arrive.
SpoilerYou have 20 rounds to prepare.
Also, sorry about taking so long to post. New work schedule is really beating the crap out of me.
SpoilerIts okay, we can all understand that.
Once the fire has caught, Dromet will move to the side of the cave and wait for the gnolls to emerge. "This shouldn't take long," he says to Eophyn. "Hey Serp, any large rocks up there you can roll down on them," he calls to his other companion.
Spoiler[roll0]
Serph looks for any larger rocks, and takes position so he can easily fire at the Gnoll's back from above when they will run out of the cave. His plan is to shoot them once they try to engage his commrades.
SpoilerTaking position that will allow sneak attacks.
SpoilerThe area around the cave is pretty sparse of rocks large enough to really make more than a slight tickle to a living being.
Eophyn
She narrows her eyes, not to see through the fire and smoke, but to concentrate. Reading herself she waits slowly preparing a spell and tosses it, then begins her battle dance.
Spoiler
at about round 15 or 17 she will cast grease near the entrance of the cave, start her battle dance then gets ready to cast chord of shards.
Only a few moments before the gnolls leave the safety of their cave, Eophyn coats the ground in front of them with a greasy liquid, and then starts her combat dance. As it is now more clear, you can see three gnolls coming out nearly side by side to each other, with another four following behind that.
SpoilerI'm gonna say that was two rounds on your battle dance. Since you've been waiting, i'm gonna use group initiative and give you lot your round first. Post in any order
As the first line reaches his range, Dromet will bring his sword down on the gnoll.

cast Chord of shards
Ref sve DC14 or [roll0] damage
As Eophyn launches her spell, the shards shoot through two of the three gnolls tearing them up badly. Dromet leaps into action on the uninjured one, but the same quick movements that allowed it to avoid the spell allow it to slip out of reach of Dromets attack. As it regains its posture, it raises its spear for a quick strike, and stops in its tracks, an arrow clean in its back it collapses to the ground with a resounding thud. The remaining gnolls start backing off, and one starts speaking in a language foreign to most.

In Gnoll
"We surrender, we surrender. Don't kill us!!"
"He says they surrender." Serph tells his friends, but doesn't stop aiming at them.
"Throw away your weapons." He tells Gnolls i ntheir language.
The two injured drop their weapons where they stand, just in time for the followers behind them to catch up. The first of the two stops dead, looking at the two in front of him, and then barks out at them in their native language. After a quick response, the speaker spears the gnoll who first gave the surrender, and pushes him to the side before stepping forward and speaking in Common. "I can see we are beaten. Without the human who had helped us, we were already lost. Which among you is the leader, I wish nothing more than to negotiate for the lives of the survivors."
Serp
SpoilerThis is what was spoken in Gnoll
First: "What is the meaning of this? Why do you drop your arms?"
Second: "Too strong. We've lost"
Serph looks at Eophyn, knowing it's best to leave negotiations to her. He tries to tell her he sees nothing suspicious in gnoll's words. So far.
Eophyn
She looks up at Serp and nods "Drop your weapons and have a seat while we tie you up. We'll lead you to town after that," and then points to a patch of ground away from the fire.
The gnoll leader shakes his head. "I will give you my weapon, but you can't tie me up. You can tie up my men, but leave the others inside alone." As he spoke, he pointed to where Eophyn had pointed before, and the other two gnolls dropped their weapons and moved there obediently, clearly listening to his orders. The leader in turn placed the head of his spear into the ground, holding it there to prove no more violent intentions.
Eophyn
"There are others? You mean you brought your families here?" she asks with surprise. She looks at her friends for directions.
"This has always been home. Caves go deep underground. Many tunnels to make home in. We kept to this area until the human came to speak with us."
"If the man made them attack, maybe we can convince them to leave village alone?" Serph says to Eophyn.
"I don't think they would disagree. Why don't we just take the leader for negotiations and leave the rest," Dromet calls to his companions.
Eophyn
Thinking that was a good idea she says to the gnoll, "If you can speak for your people then come with us to talk and negotiate."
The leader nodded, turning to his men he spoke to them quickly in gnoll, and the others ran back into the cave as though their very lives were on the line. He then turned back to Eophyn and began to speak directly to her. "I will come with you. They will stay."
