A bit about stuff from Haleo and Julelan.

It should be noted that this quote contains some heavy spoilers for that story. Read on your own risk.
While I'm posting in this thread, I would like state something: Please don't joke around or discuss things in this thread. Every time I see a new post in this thread, I open it, expecting a new quote by the Giant. Often, I'm disappointed. Knowing the fan-base, I doubt I'm the only one.
Normally, I don't mind off-topic chatter or discussion too much, but for this thread, I really think it would be good if we tried to keep the off-topic discussion to a minimum. Now, granted, I suppose I now have "bumped" the thread without adding a quote, which I apologize for, but I figured that I could combine this suggestion with a warning about spoilers.
Now, I'd prefer it if people didn't respond to this message with things like "Okay, will do", or "Sorry, my bad" or something like that, since that would bump the thread and possibly mislead other forum-goers. I want you to know that I don't blame any of you for writing in this thread, but I do think it would be better if people did it elsewhere, unless it's related to the thread. Thanks in advance.
Before I finish, I would like to note that I'm not moderating this thread: This is simply my suggestion. I do believe that my argument for keeping posting to a minimum is reasonable, though. So yeah, have a good day, everyone, or night, depending on what time of the day it is when you're reading this.
To the dismay of all crazed prophets on this board, Geoff is not Miron and is not related.
Note that this post does not say Geoff isn't a traitor, or anything like that, just that there is no familial connection between the two.
Related: Miron is old.
Lots of stuff about racism, the cycle of violence, and whether or not communities 'deserve' to suffer for the actions of the few.
Also clarifies what he meant by 'karma' in War & XPs.
I think it is a Must Add given how much talk there is surrounding the Sapphire Guard, Azure City, and Redcloak. Plus related issues with 'Always Evil' races.
I also think we shouldn't discuss it here since it has the high likelihood going off the rails. Not to mention discussing things from a locked thread, which is a bit of a no-no. :smalltongue:
No race deserves to be extinguished, ever, under any circumstances. Despair that this needs to be mentioned.
Also, the conquest of the Azurites was a terrible wrong.

...Good gods.
The number of people who are trying to argue based on the Giant's wording that this theory should still be taken seriously have done more in a single day to make me consider quitting the forums than 110 discussion threads worth of Tarquin apologists.
That's because the Tarquin apologists are entertaining. Even moreso than the Miko apologists. Actually the people who argue back, implying that defending Tarquin infers some RL moral equivalence problem of the poster in question ("How can you possibly defend this fictional character? Something must be wrong with you! You must approve of killing people in reality!") I find far more irritating than the apologists themselves.
But yeah, this ah, theory... I can see why this might even trump either one. WHY does it exist, again? To what end? The point of story twists is that they're supposed to at least be INTERESTING. What would be interesting about these guys being related? We barely know Ian, and Miron hasn't spoken a word until just this last comic.
EDIT: anyway, let's move on. I just felt the need to vent. Thread should be about the original topic.
Gosh, sorry to annoy you to the point of near-quitting. Or worse, multiple smilies. How about this, though: the objection isn't about pushing a wild theory, it's about interpreting what the Giant says accurately.
He does not say that Geoff and Miron are unrelated. He takes a dismissive tone towards a person who suggests the two are related on the sole basis of skin tone for reasons, and I think that's a response to the person's statement on skin tone rather than a statement about the plot. RNGGod interpreted that as him saying the two were not related, and I was correcting that with a literal interpretation.
The theory is, oh, 90% less viable after 915 anyway, but unless the Giant makes an explicit statement that the two are not related, the comment should not be included in ThePhantasm's roundup.
EDIT: After reading some counterarguments, I take back all objections to its inclusion. The context of the comment does make it overwhelmingly likely that his intent was to shoot down that theory.
It absolutely SHOULD be included. The name of the link can be changed (say, to "Similar stick figures are STILL not always the same person," but to simply argue it should be discluded due to it not being 100% iron-clad is just silly.
((Additionally, I would argue that when Rich takes time to post specifically to refute a theory, the theory is refuted. Period. I don't buy into the "Rich is lying to us all" theory, but your mileage may vary.))
Let's get it clear that this is not what's happening - The Giant said that there are two bald old men with brown skin in the world who are not related, but to claim that, in that context, he is talking about two _other_ men than Geoff and Miron is not 'accurate' or 'literal' - it is desperate.
Simulacrum*
Sunkon Valley's theory was that Geoff was a simulacrum of Miron. So I wanted to know if :smallconfused: was a simulacrum of :smallannoyed:. One smiley being a simulacrum of another smiley makes about as much sense as Geoff being a simulacrum of Miron.
There's also this.
Spoilers for Sticktales: Haleo and Julelan.
Sorry if this has been asked, but
What if The Giant posts in this thread? Will it divide by zero?
I believe he has. There was one quote of his that he asked not be posted on his "permanent record".
The thread didn't divide by zero, but if you click on the link to that post, it opens an infinite loop. Redirect to Giant's comment, redirect to Giant's comment thread, redirect to Giant's comment...
That is a post by Rich in this thread, but it's not the one littlebum2002 was referring to.
