Okay, yes, very funny everyone, really waiting until the last minute to better fit the theme, ha ha. Just so you know, I don't usually give 24-hour warnings, and I'm not doing that today either. You all have 4 hours from the timestamp on this post, then Quiddle wins by default.
(Not to knock Quiddle's actual entry, of course! Redact is fine.)

Re: MTG - You Make The Card VIII: Escape - Exile 7 MTG topics to create this thread
Okay, nice! The trigger condition is bizarre, in that it seems like it would happen practically never, but in reality happens weirdly often, especially in the most popular/decadent formats. Also, you can theoretically play multiples one after the other and be really annoying about it. Annoying, but not oppressively so - you are, after all, at 1 life the whole time.
Quiddle still wins though!
Yeah, fine, it's just a white counterspell, but it's a white counterspell that's technically legal in the color pie, and technically legal is what Redaction is all about!

Yep, that's a sliver all right.
Sliver decks have two perennial issues: they need to spend a lot of mana over many cards to build an effective board, and they're vulnerable to having their board wiped in the process. Deep Sliver is a dedicated solution to the first after the second has occurred.

It's cute that you can cast several Steelfang Orcs in one go at a discount, and they all grow when one of them dies.

If you meet both conditions it's a draw 2 mill 1 for {1} with flashback? Are you trying to get your card banned in Legacy?
Granted, each side is generally a bit worse in practice than a draw 2 because of the opponent's veto. But a line like "turn 1 pain land, Sardonic Wit" pretty much ensures the hand size will stay large enough for future discounts. It's a pretty oppressive engine, but easy enough to disrupt with discard and graveyard hate that it's not completely out of balance.
It's also in no way limited to a UB deck; other decks can build for both full hands and self-damage.

I see the cost and effect and my brain skips the discount and goes straight to a Goblin Welder prison deck.
Flicker/Welder shenanigans aside, this is basically a delayed action Aethersnatch. Putting spells on the stack yourself to discount this will generally cost mana, so you aren't casting it with fewer than six untapped lands. It works, but it's complicated for what it does - this discount condition would be more meaningful on a slightly cheaper card.

Unfortunately, I'm unfamiliar with dungeons in practice so I can't fairly evaluate this. It seems reasonably powerful as a two-card combo. While the cost reduction intuitively makes sense, it doesn't account for the difficulty of the dungeon, so easy dungeons like Phandelver get short-changed; it plays well with the others, though.
Notably, this card can reasonably be splashed with no other colored mana source besides Goblin Bazaar/Mine Tunnels because you always have the treasure when you need it.
However, it's at its most expensive when it does nothing(?) because you aren't in a dungeon. Add cycling?

Re: MTG - You Make The Card VIII: Escape - Exile 7 MTG topics to create this thread
Thanks. I thought it as an interesting design and tricky to cost because it plays very differently to delve in most constructed decks that try to stack the graveyard to get value from delve cards whereas that plan doesn't really fly well with slivers and, as you said, it's very much a plan B. Felt it could be relatively aggressively costed compared to other delve cards because of this being a much more reactive card.
Challenge: Make a team-up card (doesn't have to be the same plane) or a saga transforming to/from creature (such as the recent praetors or Fable of the Mirror Breaker).

I like the idea and they fit well together. It feels as if it could be abused for self mill but it being a creature means that it'd interfere with itself so you'd need a high enough X that winning the game as a result feels reasonable.
