Perhaps. :smalltongue:
You guys like these updates? Or the new character? She's the one I'm a bit nervous about; remember what I said earlier about how each character has a teeny-tiny piece of you in them? Well, she may possibly have the most of me, and I'm a bit worried because that's how Mary-Sue characters are born...
Also, it's just Grandparent and Other Grandparent. Her human grandparents are dead.
Well, honestly, Coffee, it takes some really bad writing (or intentionally bad writing) to reveal a character has strong Mary Sue tendencies in such a short space of time. No writing that bad has been transgressed in the past few comics, so the new character is still rather ambiguous. If you're worried about her, keep an eye on her and we will too, but, at the moment, you're the only one who knows enough about this character to make an accurate and thorough evaluation of her.
Here I sat, buried in physics (electricity, magnetic fields and some quantum mechanics, not that anyone's interested) and now I find this great diversion to slip from my studies!:smallwink: A nice strip, pretty much an introduction for the new character, but hey, better to do it now than in the heat of combat, right?
Oh, and the last panel made me giggle!:smalltongue:
Marketing expert druids! Our doom is truly at hand!
And-...
*a hand lands on shoulder*
Rigorous Me: What do you think you're doing, young lady? *dangerously calm voice*
More Lazy Me: Um...reading a webcomic...you know, Murphy's Law... the one-...
Rigorus Me: Is that a pile of unread lecture notes I see there beside you? *same tone*
MLM: ...Mayybee...
RM: *glares*:smallfurious:
MLM: ...Aah...okay, okay! :smallannoyed:
...
...
Artist Me: ...Is that a hint I see there?:smallamused:
RM: *cough*:smallmad:

*scurries off*
Hmmm... Interesting. I'm wondering if you are going to put the extra plot point in...
you could probibly avoid the whole mary-sue thing by either
A: letting her get beat up by bad guys once in awhile, or
B: let her kick sticky rear-end and not cower behind tinder all the time.
Gicko, trust me. This new character will never *dream* of cowering behind Tinder.
Maybe that's why her gender is disinguishable.
I guess Grandparent and Other granparent are the elven ones then.
The alternative is that her human parent is even more adrogynous than the elven one. :smalltongue:Quote:
(Or not. Look at albis from the LGBTitP thread.)
I've noticed quite a bit of off topic and spam this week; I'd like to remind everyone that this thread already got a warning because for such offenses and that it's very likely that it'll be locked if they continue on such a regular basis. So if you care about this comic, please stay on topic. Thanks.
Considering Coffee said twice that the human grandparents were dead, they are.
I feel we'll see this Lord Byron in the future.Quote:

Also, "There is now a Level Zero." isn't necessarily a Kung Fu Panda reference. It's not exactly a difficult quip to come up with given the correct circumstances - such as Matt's ground-shattering failure.
I wonder how Remus and Fir will get along. There's not much stereotype in the comic, so I doubt they'll be at each other's throats. Remus's size makes him a better riding dog for Fir than for Radic, for example. :smallwink:Quote:

Radic's father has much knowledge of the dealings of Tinder's parents and their effects, hinting towards either working for the watch, the administration or as a merchant. Seeing's Radic's skills with advertizement, chances are it's the last one.Quote:

Also, "Genki Girl" decided it was a good idea to surprise, in the most "OHMYGODIT'SASURPRISEATTACK!" way possible, a group of complete strangers who could have been, for all she knew, a bunch of murderous psychopaths who torture teenagers for fun in their spare time?
She has a negative Wis modifier, hasn't she? :smallamused:
Thanks. Exactly my point.
THANK YOU!!!

Uh-huh. :smallsmile:Quote:

Ooh, that would be funny. Fir likes to stay around halfie's head though, because Fir's a familiar.Quote:

Fir has a higher Wisdom score than she does. (It's not as low as Matt's, but it's close.)
You're welcome.Quote:

He's been mentioned by name by none other than the first main character, who appears to know him. Byron's dramatically forbidden not to appear in the comic. :smallwink:Quote:

Cats have 12 Wis... But it's closer to Matt's than to the cat's. Ouch. :smalltongue:Quote:

As if Matt didn't give the party enough headaches. :smallwink:
Or it could be that he just knows the temperament of a foreign leader. :smalltongue:
Headaches in a different way! :smallbiggrin:Quote:

It'd be funny if one of ML's many encounters started this way.
Fir: *is curled up in a ball asleep on Half-Elf Chick's head*
Random but Powerful Vegan or Equivalent: Is that a fur hat?! :smallfurious:
Half-Elf Chick: *giggle* Well, yes, in a manner of speaking. More like a Fir hat...
*Vegan doesn't get joke and battle ensues*
Lloyd: *facepalm*
Still, he knows him. He must appear. Especially that he is the leader of the oft-mentioned Kago. :smalltongue:

I like the half-elf. She can be the party cheerleader. When, y'know, she isn't kicking bad guy butt with her arcane might.
True. :smalltongue:Quote:

Aw, but doesn't she need to be a bard to do that?Quote:

Thank you! Always best to get the planet-conquering alien on your side!
This is why I shouldn't just skim through the previous posts. Looking back, I just repeated what had already been said. :smalltongue:
The wink makes me think that you're talking about shipping them.Quote:

That adrogyny is what makes them attractive.
To elves.

You're welcome! And having a planet-conquering alien on your side is always a good think!
