SpoilerSCREW YOU, TIDE. [roll0]
[roll1]
Using the momentum he gained from the thrill of breaching the surface Theo pulls Gartrand behind him. The waves begin coming in harder, crashing into Theo's face from the side filling his mouth and nostrils with brine. He makes distance between himself and the rocks before the water pulls him down again.
Spoiler
Perpetually two successes away from salvation, eh?
Spoiler*sigh*

SpoilerOne last Swim. Fail, we're screwed. Succeed, Gartrand's maybe screwed. Nat 20, we're alive. Gods, don't fail me now.

Okay. I'm burning a hero point to improve my roll. Since this is after the roll, that's a +4. That makes the final roll a 15. Let's hope that's enough.

After bringing himself and the wizard back above the surface Theodric is abruptly brought back under by a strong current and a flying kick to the face delivered by a wave. He quickly gets the two of them back to the surface, spiting the strength of the depths.
Dastria throws a rope from Theo's backpack out to him.
Spoiler
Alright, one success here and you'll be back at the docks, Theo!
Also, I will need a Con check from Gartrand, here.
I derped the drowning rules...should have had you roll one a sec ago, but since that was my bad I'm handwaving that one. However, Gartrand is unconscious and submerged at this point, hanging on by a single hit point. Failure here spells death for Gartrand, and I really hope that is not the case.
Theo pulls strength from within and pushes hard to bring Gartrand to the dock. He has succeeded in bringing the wizard to the safety of the solid, wooden ground upon which the party stands.
Spoiler
And...now to see if Gartrand failed that check or not.
Plus, I'd rather not handle this bit for Das. I don't know how Xela would have her react to this particular happening.
SpoilerCould you roll for me Necro? I don't have access to my sheet and am using an iPod for this.
SpoilerI don't think anyone knows your Con. >_<
Spoiler
I suppose I can.
Con's 11...so no mods. 50% chance of success.
Here goes: [roll0]
EDIT: Well, that almost could not have gone worse. :/
SpoilerThats what I get for trusting you.
Well this stinks. Is he going to somehow be revived, or should I make a new character? Or we could have a heal check to get the water out of his lungs or something.
SpoilerCan I use my other Hero Point to give him a reroll? Y'know, something like how Theo might have just flopped him on the dock with such force it expelled the water? :D
Spoiler
Erm...y'know, yeah I'll allow that, Turt.
Gartrand will get a re-roll.
Sadly, failure still spells complete death.
If someone wants to give a heal check for mouth-to-mouth I'll count that as aid another, I suppose.
If he does end up dead though, I'd definitely say to write another up and I'll try to get you worked in mid-module if possible. What with no one having any diamonds and Dastria being only level 1. D:
SpoilerCome on! Big money, no whammies!
[roll0]
SpoilerHuzzah!...And in other news, Theodric now has 0/3 Hero Points. Oh well, it was worth it to save the wizard. (Though, it should be noted that had Gartrand not been stupid enough to try to follow Torrim around the building, none of this would have happened. None of it.)

Torrim's eyes twist back forward, and the glazed over look is lost for quick action. "Where are they, and what have they done?"
He slips through the open door, closes it quietly behind him, and rushes out to the dock, muttering a few choice words -arcane and, erm, otherwise- for the wizard and fighter currently drowning.
SpoilerCasting Levitate on the wizard (lifts 50 pounds), which might be enough to give a circumstance bonus or something?
Spoiler
He's already back up on the dock. :p
AAAAAAAAAAND Derp. Well then, the spoiler really doesn't mean a WHOLE lot, but he just uses it to pick up the back end of the wizard and try and dump the water out.
SpoilerEr...um, this was from the IRC.
So, I dunno how useful those Channel Energies will be.Quote:
Arkive: Das can channel engergy once they're within 30 feet
Turt: Channel energy doesn't help for -HP.
Necro_EX: This is true, but if he failed that check, it won't do any good. :/
Arkive: ah
Necro_EX: It would normally, Turt.
Turt: Oh.
Necro_EX: Just...given the particular circumstances...
You deleted it and repoasted. :P
Spoiler
Silly Xela, I thought I explained heal checks don't restore lost hit point like that. :p
Though, that will be enough to determine that he is in fact not dead and to do the basic resuscitation. However, to get him up out of those negatives you'll need to either expend some channeling or a spell until he's up in the positives again. :3
SpoilerWAIT. I thought you said in the IRC that channeling wouldn't work in the situation!
Spoiler
I meant that if he had failed the save there he would have been dead, which channeling or cure spells do nothing for.
Spoiler...
...
...
Oh.
P.S. Get your butt in either Kong or IRC.
SpoilerTurt told me I couldn't channel! Balls!
"My god!" Dastria exclaims, staring down at Gartrand and then flicking those accusing eyes to Theo. "Next time, I'll just drown myself!" She then spares a caring look for Gartrand, bends down to his side and begins her healing spell. "I'll do it as many times as needed," the elf mutters, "Just freaking hold on."

Torrim slips over, quietly reminding Das, "Panic never helped anyone. Why don't we just remain calm, heal the wizard, and maintain a perimeter. We need to seek our objectives, too: of course, only after we get our teammate back solidly into the land of the living."
He stands up and scans the area around the docks, and then walks up to Theo.
"Hello, my brave friend! Are you alright? Any bones broken, or damage done?"
SpoilerPerception check of the area, looking for any suspicious activity and/or the girl.
[roll0]
"What's a bone? And I'm fine! The water tasted a little funny, though. I think it might be muddy. Or from what I can tell, anyway. I've never tasted mud." Theodric continues to mumble, but his ramblings are now unintelligible.
Spoiler
Gartrand - Alright, that should be enough to get you back into the positives, how much does this put you at?
Torrim - You see no signs of the girl, but you do see a few people looking at your party whispering things among themselves. They appear to be normal peasant folk.
"Everyone, we should note that the incident was not one of... stealth. Such is regrettable, but we have certainly drawn significant attention. Quick movement is necessary." He begins to look a little bit antsy, glancing again, searching for guards or authorities.
SpoilerI'm pretty sure that puts me at 5. Thats one less than what I normally have so good enough.
SpoilerWait, what? Your max HP is 6?
SpoilerNote to self: Theo can one-shot Gartrand.
