I know, it is isn't it?
I still haven't quite shaken the idea mentioned several threads back of the fact that, for ponies, putting clothes on maybe more risque than wandering around naked all the time...

Is somepony bringing up my brilliant idea of reverse strip clubs?

But... what does that mean for everypony getting "dressed up" for the Grand Galloping Gala?
Guess we know why it isn't "that kind of party" now. :smallwink:

I think reversing angle and Flutter in that scenario would be better. "It's okay Angle, I forgive you. I forgive you because I love you. And I love you TO DEATH."

I believe we called them clad clubs. :smalltongue:

I think that's where we get into the question of intent. Kind of like how it's okay for women to wear bikinis, but walking around in their underwear is a bad thing even though there's often little difference. The Gala is a formal affair so everyone dresses up nice.

That was your idea was it? Well, now I know who to blame...
But yeah, I was.

Re: My Little Pony XI: "Mmph!"
It occurs to me. The clad club is shaken by the fact that only Rarity had problems with Spike watching them get ready for the gala.
-
Re: My Little Pony XI: "Mmph!"
You know, this whole discussion makes Rarity's concern about Spike seeing them undress realistic ... but it also throws everyone else into a whole lot of deviancy. :smalleek:

Personally I'm sticking that in the category that Rarity doesn't like being seen unless she's at her best. Don't forget she locked herself in a personal dressing room for the Young Flyers competition too. She's just one of those ponies that absolutely must have her make-up on before anyone's allowed to see her.

Re: My Little Pony XI: "Mmph!"
And to think. The original reason for my theory that dressing was attractive to ponies was my questions on what ponies would find physically attractive due to them mostly being palette swaps of the same body shape.

Either that or the ponies are Ferengi.

Spike just needs to show Rarity how good of an ear masseur he is.

Re: My Little Pony XI: "Mmph!"
Hi everypony, watched this show today. I liked it, although it is not something I'd watch all of. I can certainly see the charm with tons of memes, aesops (good for kid's shows although it is not on in the UK) and potential theories of the underbelly of Equestria (like the caste system of the three types of ponies and that Celestia is a bad role model because she is at worst a tyran and at best a severe Dumbledoor).
I do ask: why does the poster known as Trixie named after such an unlikeable character?
Bye Everypony

Trixie was Trixie before the Great and Powerful Trixie was Trixie. And we like the Great and Powerful Trixie (and the Trixie before). She's so Trixie it's Trixie.

Alternately, color.
... and now we know why Sapphire Shores is a pop star.
"WOOOOO SHE LOOKS DIFFERENT WOOOOOOOOOO."
Although you could argue that the ponies see minor differences we don't.

And I would and do argue that, because I refuse to accept "flash animation" as an actual part of storytelling and world building. The world ponies live in is real to them - it has to be or else the stories produced from that world will ring hollow - and a part of living in that world is noticing the things an outsider wouldn't pick up on. :smalltongue:
Although Sapphire Shores being so different probably does help her popularity. She's huge.

Color can be faked easily via hair dye.
But that is my original theory. MLP doesn't show the minor details that attribute to hotness in ponykind.
That and smell.
Spike thinks Rarity smells good.

Spike: Sorry, but you ponies all look alike to me.
Random Background Pony: Oh, so you're a speciesist, is that it?

Y'know, I'm reminded of the old Homestar Runner cartoon "everyone is different." Link.
Everypony is Different.
Some ponies wear glasses. Some ponies wear dresses. Twilight Sparkle is being fangoriously devoured by a gelatinous monster.
Applejack has freckles and a southern accent. Freckles and southern accents are hot.
Pinkie Pie has dissociative identity disorder. That makes her hair change!
Sapphire Shores is ridiculously tall. She should play in the WNBA!
Everypony is different. No two ponies are the same, except in background shots.

Everypony is in background shots at the bar/nightclub.
Here's another question? Because of the ease of dyeing hair, do you think Equestria would have a comon issue of ponies obsessively changing their colors to match those of celebrities?
Was there a lot of Fluttershy lookalikes and wannabes walking around when she was a super model? All you had to do is go to the salon and poof... you look just look her.
