I'd say "have fun with that", but that's a stupid thing to say.
So, I shall say "good luck" and leave it at that.
Good luck!

Elemental! *hugs* I found this video of a huge wild budgie flock this weekend, and it made me think of you for some reason. At any rate the footage of budgies drinking water made me melt on the floor in a puddle of warm squee.

My great delight is that I haven't, nor will ever, get over the costumes. The pleasure is perennial.
Now what's all this kinky talk of tying up maids?

Yeah, it confuses me too. Why would you defile something that is already so terrible?:smallconfused: Dubsteps are traditionally remixes of a good song, where they place the first 20 seconds to get your nostalgia running, they they play the same music as every other dubstep song and try to instigate riots, then a autotuned verse or two, then more of the same dubsteppy sounds.

Everyone was cute in the past.
I will forever be enamored of the costumes, but it's just, I have so many other places to ogle beautiful costumes, so I really have no interest in slogging to a silly little lives of fictional people for hours to see them, when I can get better with much less time spent on things I dislike.
August sent ninja maids to kill me.

I'm either still cute or I'm in that transition period between 'kinda cute' and 'holy carp-fish hawt' or 'ugly'.

You just can't appreciate the incredible over-the-topness of Gangnam Style, Sheep. Some day you shall rave and someday you will learn. :smalltongue:

Question. Do you yourself get it? Just curious, and I wouldn't doubt you if you do, but it IS a parody of things after all :smalltongue:

The song? I get he isn't Gangnam style and it's making fun of that. But what I meant was that Sheep doesn't like the song. The little fool. I'm going to master that dance for some stupid school event. It shall be glorious.

My, that is a lot of budgies...
Unfortunately, living in a suburban area as I do, far from the habitat of budgies, the largest conglomeration of any particular kind of bird is either that of the crows that like to look over the school oval for food in the afternoons, or the galahs that sometimes do the same.
But I do not mind, for I am fond of both kinds.

Re: Serpentine's Secretly Sapphic Salacious Sacrarium of Random Banter #180
Last night was spent mixin' and maxin' at a bar with what must have been at least half the residence building.
Tonight was spent watching A Clockwork Orange with a handful of awesome folks, at a free outdoor screening, while sipping hipster beers. Sadly, a good number of folks left before the movie was over, including the cute girl from two doors down.
Well, two doors down right-wise. The cute girl from two doors down left-wise wasn't there.
edit: or was it the other way around... either way, the point is that one cute girl was there and then left, the other cute girl wasn't there and so didn't have the opportunity to leave.

Sounds like fun, Gwyn. I went home this weekend, so I missed out on most of the revelry. :smalltongue:

Oh it's been lots of fun.
Kinda getting tired of the monotony of conversation. "Hey, I'm XYZ, what's your name? Where you from? Oh, whereabouts in Toronto? What are you studying? What rez/floor are you in/on (replace as needed, depending on whether the event in question is a rez-specific one or not.)

Talk about.. wait for it... CLOCKWORK ORANGE. :smalltongue: Really, try it. Then talk about it here because I still haven't seen it. >_<

Yeah, well, I'm mostly just trying to meet a lot of people right now.

Haha, that's why we went to see the movie rather than go to a club with 200 randoms.

Yeah, but I can only meet so many people before they all blur together. I'm the kinda guy who likes having his small core group of close friends, and then other people come and go.

You and I seem to have a fair bit in common, Gwyn, my man. :smallwink::smalltongue:

P'raps.
Oh, also a few of the guys and I are gonna be jammin'. Floor fellow has a drumset, and between the rest of us we have guitar, bass, and saxophone.
SAXOPHONE. AW YEAH.
Um, and also harmonica?

And so you have expressed -- however given that we both enjoy birds, and you being Australian [and yet no more privileged at seeing wild budgies than I], I wanted to share it with you.
Aren't they cute drinking water?

It sounds like a delightful evening, and the beginning to a year of just the kind of borderline debauchery whose account I shall slaver over like a starved vampire.
edit I have a rash on my wrists which is making me paranoid that I somehow caught scabies again...

Indeed they are.
And such manoeuvres!
So acrobatic! So coordinated! Such artistry!
I have always marvelled at the ability of birds to not only manoeuvre individually with such grace, but in large groups also. It is almost as if they are possessed of one mind.

More realistically, nothing would happen, but since my trademark humour relies on obfuscation, I'd have fun nevertheless.
Poor working conditions and lack of outside contact, as well as worried family and friends are obvious cons, however...

How likely do you think it is that a bullet hit on a modern soldier is going to be fatal, for example?).

Forgive my ignorance, but doesn't this combat advantage stem from right-handed people not getting sufficient training in fencing left-handed people as compared to the vice versa, because the odd angles are going to be exactly the same versus left-hand fencing people as they will be for them (although mirrored), and thus, wouldn't learning how to fight left-hand fencing people properly with your right hand (assuming that's your on-hand) ultimately prove to be more efficient that fencing with your off-hand, which inevitably will be more clumsy, and thus give them home ground advantage (assuming that they've sparred against other left-hand fencers as well)?

Why wouldn't there? I once found a dubstep(-ish) remix of something that probably was sung in the... I assume 20's or 30's judging from context. Not all that dubstep-y, but still.

Re: Serpentine's Secretly Sapphic Salacious Sacrarium of Random Banter #180
Man, I found a dubstep/skillrex edit of Wakko doing his "classical burp music" thing from Animanics. I'm with Teddy here, you can ruin ANY song.

Re: Serpentine's Secretly Sapphic Salacious Sacrarium of Random Banter #180
*sigh*, all the dubstep hate.
I remember when dubstep was new, and nobody knew what it was, and it sounded nothing like what it does today. And the bits that did sound roughly like what it does today were TASTEFUL.
Nowadays my ipod is full of dubstep and people are like :smallconfused: and I'm like IT'S NOT WHAT YOU THINK :smalleek:
-
Re: Serpentine's Secretly Sapphic Salacious Sacrarium of Random Banter #180
I'm not saying dubstep is bad, just that it's really easy to make bad dubstep.
-
Re: Serpentine's Secretly Sapphic Salacious Sacrarium of Random Banter #180
What Lala said. And since only one in 4 million dubsteppers try (and only ?<one million have ever tried to make dubstep), we got a bad crop. Also, I don't like how generic it got in the matter of like, three weeks.

Re: Serpentine's Secretly Sapphic Salacious Sacrarium of Random Banter #180
I'm not all that much into dubstep, prefering a bit more melodic music styles, and music that is a bit more down or dramatic rather than... something that closely resembles the ambient sounds of a steel mill, but I can appreciate it nevertheless when it's well done, and the context is right.

I just recently found out it is Skrillex, and not Skillrex. As in, Skill Rex. Like a dinosaur. Sounds so much cooler, though.

Right, I keep on making that mistake.
