Sometimes, they don't even have that. Thai Nagas, from what I've seen, have somewhere between three and seven snake heads instead.

... I am legitimately surprised. I could've sworn there were other gods who got nailed up by humanity.
There's plenty, actually. Odin might be the best known, but that wasn't done by humans. Still, we can't talk about it.

And sometimes they do have human upper bodies. Naga can really come in any combination of human and snake features. And I wouldn't be suprised if there are also stories of nagas being able take the form of full humans.

Re: D&D Demotivators III: My PCs Did What?
Probably. Looking aroudn online a bit at least turns up that they can get pretty ridiculous with the number of heads:
I can't shake the feeling that somewhere, a long time ago, a noble went to an artist and said: "Paint me a Naga with 100 heads!"
To which the artist replied: "But... that looks ridiculous!"
At which point the noble replied: "I'm paying you, so paint what I say, you hack! And make it look strong and impressive!"
So the painter made this.

Re: D&D Demotivators III: My PCs Did What?
However that particular naga is a god. It's allowed to have 100 heads.
The greek were putting the requirements for 100 heads and 100 arms a lot lower.
-
Re: D&D Demotivators III: My PCs Did What?
The Greeks had a monster with 3000 heads, top that.
-
Re: D&D Demotivators III: My PCs Did What?
Problem sleuth had a "black-hole" with literally infinite heads :smalltongue:

Hydra? Dragon? Typhon? Because I don't remember any.

I thought he was referring to Typhon. I seem to recall he had something like one-hundred snake heads in place of each hand, and although the older stories have a single human head I've also heard versions where he had one-hundred snake heads. I also recall tellings where his heads were innumerable and could not be counted by man.

I believe he's going for Typhon. I've heard his number of heads ranging from 100 to thousands so 3000 seems like it would fall into the latter range.
Or go with Lyndworm, that works.

I thought it was Typhon, I remembered it from this Greek myths book I have. Percy Jackson and the Olympians must be clouding my memory, though it is accurate most of the time.

The version of Typhon I read had 1000 heads atop his shoulders, and had 1000 heads in the place of hands, for a sum total of 3000 heads. They were a mix of human, snake, tiger, lion and ram heads for the most part. Not too suprisingly, most his children (chimera, hydra, hydra's 100 headed broter who gaurded a golden apple tree and cerberus among them) also had multiple heads.

Let me know if I screwed these up somehow. They should work, I put them on photobucket.

Wouldn't it just mean that the Cat had a better Hit dice, more skills and flurry of blows in addition to it's natural attack routine?

Hrrm, I misremembered. I thought cats got pounce, which would go a long way towards making monk class features work. But they don't. That makes me a sad panda.

See that lake? Look more closely. Pay close attention to the far shore.

It's just a picture. see that line just over the first rise? that's where it changes from a landscape to a picture
-
Re: D&D Demotivators III: My PCs Did What?
but it fits so well, it looks like the landscape! it seems more like a highway road.
I'm confused :smallconfused:
-
Re: D&D Demotivators III: My PCs Did What?
A highway that moves in a straight line across distant mountains without changing size?

I said it SEEMS like a highway, not that it IS. but thats not important
what is confuses me is how well it fits. my front part of my brain is going "oh hey some guy put a picture over the landscape through photoshop or something"
while the back part of my brain is screaming "how!? this doesn't make any sense, it matches too well to be fake! how!? they just seem too similar for this to make any sense!"
