Re: IC Ljonarian Enigma: Tournament Chaos
Hawke stops in reaction to the, apparently a bit sluggish, woman's words. He looks at her questioningly for a moment, and then his gaze shifts downwards to the ground in front of him. He gives it a questioning look as well, putting his flask of rum away in the meantime.
He picks up a nearby rock (if any exist) and tosses it at the strange looking ground.

Re: IC Ljonarian Enigma: Tournament Chaos
Aerin returns her sword to its sheath and abruptly runs forward, directly through the location of the vibration.

The rock flies about ten feet forward before hitting the floor. It breaks the twigs that it hits first and slides under them and out of view, like into a hole.

Re: IC Ljonarian Enigma: Tournament Chaos
Hawke winces at the loud noise and covers his ears. "Dah, sore losers." His ear drums hurt, but they seem to have barely avoided any serious damage.
He notices his horse getting jumpy again, and turns to them, petting them. "There there, you were very brave. Shhh."
Once the horse settles, he heads back to the path and remounts. "Despite that last little move of theirs, I believe we've scared them off," he tells the others.

"Aww...", the girl looks forlorn, but obeys Eglantine's order.
As the head assistant heads towards the plaza, she catches sight of a well-dressed half-elven man with a carefully styled moustache, standing on a waist high stand. Two guards flank him on both sides. He's speaking loudly to the crowd that has gathered to listen.
"...and so, good people of Springhaven, there is not the least reason to worry. The castle will remain sealed for now, as we investigate the matter, but you can rest assured that we will be swift. At the moment we suspect it was some kind of experiment by our Imperial guests that went wrong, but of course nothing can be said for sure yet. I am sad to confirm that there may be casualties, but please, good people, remain calm and wait for official news. Listen to your community leaders and recite your prayers at the temples. If you notice anything suspicious however, do report it to the City Guard at once..."
People listen to him, but mutter and gossip quitly among themselves.

Being alerted by the noise, the party looks around for its source. It doesn't take them long to notice a huge tall shape in the forest to their left, moving in the same direction as they are. It's hard to make out the details through the thick cover of the forest, from this distance the being only looks like a moving mound of green matter.
