Tinder's in the back. And who knows? :smalltongue:

Eh, if this were an actual DnD game, I would rule that she gets a bonus to any commerce-related skill checks.

Now, see, if it was "salt", I could make some dreadful pun about Zakhar rubbing salt in the wounds.
But it doesn't, and "rubbing sugar in the wounds" just doesn't make sense.

From sugar? I'd imagine that one would be better off using dirt.

What's the Russian word for sugar then? And actually, I was looking for the Russian equivalent to Zachary. :smalltongue:

Plus she probably has at least a few ranks in Appraise.

Well, I know, I said it just because I didn't have something better to do at that moment, apparently.
I don't follow the thread discussions so I actually have no clue what Zakhar is.

Сахар. Don't know if it shows up right, because of the different alphabet -> different encoding/encryption etc.
Well it's actually nearly the same, only without the K and with an S. "Sahar", if you write in the roman alphabet.

Got that right. :smalltongue: She'd also provide massive funding for public works projects and park and the like.
Update Friday. Be extra nice in case college admission people come looking. Hi college admission people! It's me, the author. Thanks for taking the time to look at this!

And for that matter, it's me, your friendly neighborhood academic, saying
(1) I would be honored to count Coffee as a student at any school I taught at,
and
(2) This is perhaps the most unusual venue for a recommendation letter I've ever written.

I haven't commented before but I've been reading for a while and I think this shows a lot of talent and commitment.
Also, I really like the comic

Wow. Ha...Thank you, Mucat. (And you do know that the second sentence is begging to be explained further, right? :smalltongue:)

Coffee is a wonderful person and wonderful writer, and I'm glad to call her friend, and honoured if she reciprocates. :)

It wasn't meant to be an unexplained mystery.
Ordinarily, when I write to an admissions committee to recommend a student, it's on official Department letterhead, in a dignified typeface, and so on. I just found it funny to be dropping a recommendation on an internet forum for random passing admissions officials to read: "Hey, c'mon. Anyone who can write like this and keep a discerning and sophisticated audience like us on tentherhooks for the next episode, has got to be a valuable addition to your school, right?"
(I offer bonus points to any admissions official who can define "tenterhooks". To the best of my knowledge, they're hooks that relate somehow to tents, but googling the exact definition would just ruin the mystery.)

Okay, I'm quoting your post on the front page when I update the comic on Friday, because it would be too much to ask the admission officials to slog through nearly 50 pages of posts.

Re: Murphy's Law 4 (4 Times The Mayhem!)
It's not hyperbole when we call this one of the most popular webcomics in the fan section.
You have a lot of readers, Coffee. O.o
Keeping in mind that a portion of those are people who read all the threads, but that's still arguably tens of thousands of people.
-
Re: Murphy's Law 4 (4 Times The Mayhem!)
Yeah, enough readers to get to four threads of commenting. And that's after accounting for people like me who's been reading since thread 2 but only just got to posting here.

And me, the same. Actually, the first time I saw this was on thread one, then I went a while about my business and eventually thought "Where'd that one fancomic go? I liked that one. So I tracked it down, that was mid-late thread 2.
As a student myself, my opinion may not weigh in much on the college admissions people, but I throw my support in for Cof, too.
-
Re: Murphy's Law 4 (4 Times The Mayhem!)
Reading since... thread 1 I think, but never really cometing till late thread two...and I am somewhat inconsistant on comenting, but I really enjoy Murphy's Law.
I am amazed Coffee's ability as both a writer and an artist, and for what it's worth, she has my full support.
-
Re: Murphy's Law 4 (4 Times The Mayhem!)
Yea, yea I support Coffee or whatever. Anyone who acknowledges the flaws in fantasy and goes about fixing them earns my approval.

Same here, but I started posting at the beginning of thread 3, but maybe nearer the end of thread 2.

My first post on thread 1! It seems that I keep the same... :smalltongue:
Do I really need to say that I love this comic?
