"Good. You want some breakfast?", she asks, going to, though somewhat reluctantly, stand.
[A Pleasant Cul-De-Sac]
"Yeah!" She certainly looks excited. The bunnygirl hugs her skates to her chest and is almost bouncing up and down.
Celie laughs a little and says. "You two have fun. I'll send some lunch out to you in a while." And with that she leaves.
A Pleasant Cul-De-Sac
"Thank you!" Emmi tells Celia as she leaves. "Alright, let's get those skates on, then we can get started," she tells Angie as she kneels down, offering to help.
[A Pleasant Cul-De-Sac]
Angie nods and sits down. It shouldn't take too long to get them all on properly with Emmi's help. Once done, she tries to put a foot under her to stand. That, predictably, fails. Luckily she hadn't even got off the ground yet. :smalltongue: "I need help up."
A Pleasant Cul-De-Sac
Emmi stands up and offers a hand to help Angie up too. "That always happens the first time," she says with a giggle.
[A Pleasant Cul-De-Sac]
Angie gets up slowly with Emmi's help. The girl clings the her hand, having trouble standing with any amount of stability. "This looks so easy when you do it."
((Sorry about the delay, but on the bright side, I'm back from work now.))
A Pleasant Cul-De-Sac
"I've been doing this since I was ten. You just need to get used to it. Let's just walk to the street before we get to really get to skating." Emmi will slowly start to walk on her skates, still holding on to Angie's hand. "Try to keep the weight straight down on your feet. Don't let them roll on you."
[A Pleasant Cul-De-Sac]
Angie nods, a determined look on her face. She takes a slow, careful step and manages to not fall over, and another. On the third step, however, one skate rolls forward, and the other slips out from under her as she tries to recover. The bunnygirl yelps as she falls Hopefully Emmi won't have any trouble stopping her from landing on the floor.
A Pleasant Cul-De-Sac
Like she said, Emmi has been skating for a long time. She might as well be standing flat on the ground when in her skates. Heck, she's probably better off. She manages to keep her balance as she holds on as tight as she can to Angie's hand and tries to grip the girls arm with her other hand. Angie probably won't even touch the ground with Emmi holding on.
[A Pleasant Cul-De-Sac]
Angie is saved! She manages to get her feet under her again, and will stand with Emmi's help. "Phew, thanks Emmi." Despite the minor setback, she's still determined. The girl wastes no time in walking again.
A Pleasant Cul-De-Sac
"No problem." Provided there are no more, or at least minimal and skippable, slip-ups, Emmi will have lead the way to the actual cul-de-sac. "Alright, to skate you just lean on one leg, and kick yourself forward with the other, then swap." She demonstrates while standing, shifting her weight to a leg and lifting the opposite back without actually pushing herself forward. "Wanna give it a shot?"
[A Pleasant Cul-De-Sac]
The bunnygirl watches Emmi very carefully, absorbing as much as she can. "Okay." She nods. Alright, she can do this. Angie put her weight on one foot, and pushes with the other as instructed. She doesn't manage to propel herself forward, unfortunately. Instead she takes a tumble. "Owwy." Her pads did their job at least.
A Pleasant Cul-De-Sac
Emmi kneels down to help Angie up again. "Are you alright, Angie?" It didn't seem like a very nasty spill to Emmi, but she couldn't be too careful. "Do you want to try again?"
[A Pleasant Cul-De-Sac]
"Yep, I'm okay." It wasn't a bad fall at all. The pads protected her well. Angie accepts the help up and grins at Emmi. I just gotta keep trying." There's no getting her down.
Assuming Emmi give her room, she'll try again. This time she manages to roll a bit. She wobbles, but doesn't fall, and at the end she puts down her foot hard and unsteadily stops. "I did it!"
A Pleasant Cul-De-Sac
Emmi smiles and gives all the room Angie needs after she hears "keep trying." Angie has a perfect attitude. As the girl wobbles forward, Emmi claps and grins. "That's great!"
[A Pleasant Cul-De-Sac]
Angie grins and tries again. She pushes off once and even manages to get her other foot stable and push again. And that's when she falls once more. She scrapes her arm a bit, but having a long sleeve shirt prevents any real damage. Still hurts though.
A Pleasant Cul-De-Sac
Emmi is ready to help Angie up as always. "You've almost really got it down," she says. "Try turning your kick foot a little so you can push more with the side. That might keep it from rolling on you." She knows such advice probably would have been better at the start, but skating is so natural to her, and she hasnt taught before. She really hopes Angie doesn't notice that.
[A Pleasant Cul-De-Sac]
Angie didn't notice a thing. She's much too enthusiastic about learning to be concerned about such a thing anyway. "Okay, I'll try that." She repeats the action, this time taking Emmi's advice into account. This time she's met with more success. She doesn't even fall down and manages to move in a straight line, if a bit unsteadily. "Look, Emmi! Look! I'm doing it!"
A Pleasant Cul-De-Sac
"That's amazing, Angie!" Emmi starts skating next to her as she skates forward. "Alright, while we're moving, let's try turning. Just lean left as you skate." she demonstrates, turning left in a wide arc.
Dave - The 1st House
Dave driving a K16GT with Clarissa hopefully with him, speeds along to the first house that they're meeting the real estate agent at.
He slows down and parks, taking a look at the first house.
Dave & Clarrisa Buy a House!
Er, right. The first "house". See those airquotes there? Those denote that this is not a house in the traditional red roof, lone chimney, white picket fashion. Nope. It's got an old metal fence alright, as well as a surprisingly well trimmed lawn of viridian green grass and a gravel driveway, but at the end of that driveway is, well, a giant crab.:smalleek:
A mollusk the size of a small mansion looms up from where it sits on the expansive grounds, an ancient beast with a shell as pale and pockmarked from centuries of usage as the surface of the moon, it's filmy, near sightless eyes craning on their stalks to peer down at the two prospective buyers. There's a long, rumbling sound like the grinding of tectonic plates, a gigantic drawn-out "hmm....", before the eyes slide back into their shell and the crab raises a single claw, big enough to chop a car in twain, giving the duo a lazy wave.
It would appear that it likes them!
And now down the drive comes traipsing a tall, gaunt man in a neon white suit, so shiny and new you could almost use it as a mirror, also waving to his new clients as he makes his way towards them. "Hello friends! You would be the ones I talked to on the phone, yes!? So glad to meet you two!"
[A Pleasant Cul-De-Sac]
Angie nods and focuses on copying Emmi. She leans and starts turning! Slowly, and in a even wider arc than the elf, but she's doing it. "This isn't that hard." And it's just then that she starts to wobble and abruptly stop turning.
[At the...Giant Crab?!]
What? That's...that's impossible! Not to mention that it is horribly cruel!
Clarissa, attired in her formal business wear that she usually is found in at AMEN, complete with heels that she hasn't quite adjusted to yet, dismounts the motorcycle and glances over...glances over...at the...the...
Oh her word!
Her eyes open wide in terror, much wider than any human eyes should be open. She's not afraid of the crab by any means.
She's horrified about what it is currently being subjected to.
You see, Clarissa rules over life in general, specifically natural life. Balance and order tending toward chaos both possess lofty positions on her list of personal values.
At the sight of the tortured, chitinous creature, she gasps!
"You poor, poor dear!"
How can it live like this? No, seriously, how can it live like this. Chitin itself isn't even strong enough to support the weight of anything which stands upright. That's one reason why humans should never grow a chitin-based skeleton. They'll rupture and explode.
Clarissa instantly begins rushing toward her massive, pathetic animal-friend, intent on grabbing it, carrying it all the way back to the ocean, and lobbing it at the shore!
Someone should stop her before she reaches the dwelling-thing!
[A Pleasant Cul-De-Sac]
Angie has a bit of a panicked look on her face, as if she's expecting to go toppling over any second. She manages to stay on her feet, however. "That was close." She says to Emmi. She pushes off a bit again, and tries turning once more. This time she met with more success.
Crab House
Dave goes to stop her gently.
"No hun...please don't touch the house yet...it might be too expensive and I don't want to pay for damages yet..."
[Talnissa's]
Talnissa grins down at Kara when she's pinched, and laughs a bit.
"If you actually want food anytime soon, you should probably stop distracting me... Remember, I don't get hungry or thirsty. It's already tempting enough to just crawl back into bed with you."
A Pleasant Cul-De-Sac
"I'll say," Emmi comments. She'll skate right next to Angie. "Alright, Angie. Just one more thing to show you and then I have an idea to help practice. To stop when your skating, instead of pushing forward with a foot, you stick it behind your other foot and let the wheels drag you to a stop." Emmi skates ahead, and then demonstrates the stop so Angie can see.
[A Pleasant Cul-De-Sac]
"Okay." Angie looks down at her feet and mimics Emmi. She almost loses her balance as she starts to slow down, but thankfully she wasn't going fast to begin with. Once stopped, she looks up at Emmi proudly.
