The girl frowns for a moment, then grins again.
"Gottcha! No destroying stuff, but something to get all those Gotei shinigami up in a bunch!"
Sigint tilted his head to the side a bit at Kiku's response. That is, until her squeal of joy takes him quite off guard. He leans back as though he was hit by a large blast of air at Kiku's squeal, his mask's eyes seemingly widening along with his own in surprise. He chuckles a little bit as she composes himself. "Not at all. It's a better reaction than I expect to get usually." He leaned a little hesitatingly back as she reached for the mask, giving a message of "you won't get to see anything more". He sighs internally as the Hell Butterfly flies onto her hand, saving him from the akward moment. He feels an unexplainable chill as the Hell Butterfly supposedly delivered it's message. I don't know why, but I just had a feeling like that of a thousand voices crying out 'Oh ****'. So did I. That and I think it is a little bit cooler than usual now. He looks intruiged as Kiku sends her reply, waiting to see what happens afterwards.
Shizuka
"T-Thank you Vice-Chief.." Shizuka says in a daze, hanging listlessly in the man's arms as she's carried off to her own spartan quarters. "This is good right here. I think I'm just going to go to sleep now."
Once set down the petite shinigami girl stumbles over towards her bed, crawling and pulling the blanket up over her head. Yuuta would discover that her room was actually quite messy for such an anxious girl. Not that she'd notice such a minor embarrassment at this moment.
Nao had left the Kido Corps before Takeshi left to go to the meeting room, thinking he had found out all he needed. I must speak with Sayuri of the Commanders' plans, it seems. and with that he is off to prepare for his sleep.
(( I was away, and couldn't post when he actually left. Hopefully this is fine. I didn't think the head of the assassination squad knowing that someone was going to cause chaos would be good:smalltongue:))
The Vice Commander tries, in vain, to ignore the disaster area he is standing in the middle of. With a short scribble on his ever present pad, and a kind look at the drowsy lump in the bed, he leaves a note offering the services of the Corps. in clearing out the mess as he makes his silent exit.
"Your getting yourself into more trouble Shizu-kun. You sort of need to cut it out. Do you know how embarassing it is for me? They probably think I'm an over glorified letter opener or something. And clean your room! You can't even hardly walk! What if you set me down and lost me."
An annoyed voice rings angrily into Shizuka's head.
Shizuka
As if by some hidden signal there was a new voice, one that makes Shizuka groan and pull the blankets a bit tighter over her head.
Do we have to do this right now? It's been such a long day! I made such a fool out of myself! That's it! I'm not leaving my room until I pass unto the next cycle, I mean it now! And no one will even notice! She says empathetically, within her own head, towards that mysterious voice she recognized as..something important.
It was aboslutely mortifying! I shudder to think what Vice-Captain Sayuri thinks of me now!
"I'll notice you silly girl. Maybe you should stop worrying so much about what everyone else thinks, and start caring about what -you- think. Or what I think. I think your great, but its getting to be a drag man..."
The voice's tone slowly drops to something a little more soothing.
"And clean me every once and a while! I have that red goop on me still! Its embarassing. What do you think will happen if others see me like this. Geeeeeeeez...Stop being a moping Molly, go out there and tell those people you don't apprecite being taken advantage of."
Myojin walks out of his room, and begins his normal patrol route around Seireitei. He pops his fingers as he walks, and hums this. A hell butterfly lands on his shoulder, and Myojin stops. He turns completely around, and walk back to the barracks, towards the captain's quarters.
Yeah, but no one else can hear you, or even knows I can hear you, so it's just the same as nobody. Besides, if I don't care what other people think then I don't see how things will get better at all. Then I won't just be un-memorable, I'll be disliked too. Such great advice!
Nonetheless, Shizuka does get up and fetch her zanpakuto, finding a clean cloth and laboriously beginning to wipe the gunk off of it. There wasn't much but it was sticky so it still took some time, time she took to clear her head.
There, you're all cleaned up now, though I don't know who'll even notice. And I can't tell people that! They are my superior officers! Bad things would happen then!
Kyasarin sat by the monitors in the Onmitsukidō headquarters, interested. She grins as she she watches Sigint with Kiku. Planning on questioning him all about it later. She turns to another screen.
I wonder what Nao is doing.
Yuuta appears at the Commander's office with a huge mug of coffee in one hand, and a rather thin sheaf of paper in the other. Setting the mug down on the commander's desk, he begins his report. "The last of the goods from the condemned buildings have well and truly been transferred to storage. It's a bit of a mess, but there was roughly enough room to hold it all (with some creative packing anyway). In response, I'd strongly suggest that a revision, or addition, be made to the new layout in order to better accommodate expansions in our warehouse district. As for the list of members involved in the demolition, the arranged groups are listed by the district they are initially assigned to. We'll have to adjust teams as some progress faster than others, but no plan is perfect."
Takeshi shrugs, having trudged back to his office after his meeting with Tai. He takes the cup of coffee, muttering something into it thats probably not strictly appropriate even at his age.
"I'll work it into the blue prints. I want you to get ready...Tai's off into the Gotei's section to cause some mischief...we either need to get her out before she gets in a lot of trouble, or we need to keep her in after she runs."
Takeshi continues to stare into the coffee, grumbling to himself.
"Think Chen-sama would approve of all this."
"Well, I'll still like you. Not that I have a whole lot of choice in the matter. Well, I could dislike you, you are pretty much in your own head. Then again...I'm in your head. Well, its probably not best to think about it eh Kitten?"
The voice makes some odd attempt at a chuckle.
"You should notice if I'm dirty! Others notice to, trust me. I'm very important after all, you should clean up to. And buy some nicer clothing. We've gotta both look our best right?"
Mortal Delicatessen
Shinji and Ikimi
As lunch hour comes and passes, the hustle and bustle in the restaurant dies down. Shinji's ice cream has long since been a tiny melted puddle, Ikimi's noodle bowl long since empty.
"...and then he turned into a coconut. I must say that I was quite amazed." On whim, she glances at the restaurant's clock
"Hmm...we are running late, brother."
"Yeah, I guess...Neshi's probably wondering where we are." Shinji waves for the check and pulls out some money, leaving it on the table.
"Well! Good to have lunch with you guys!" His voice and face are cheery as usual, but he is nonetheless reluctant to leave.
Ikimi politely bows as she says her farewells. "Good to see you again, Officer Hirako. Shinigami Fukui, it was very nice meeting you."
Mortal Delicatessen
Yoshi bowed to all present.
"Shinji, it was good to swap stories with you again. Ikimi, it's always a pleasure."
He gives the stoic woman a wink. He then turns to his newest friend.
"Kyou, it was a pleasure to make your acquaintance."
He begins walking down the road towards the Seireitei.
"If you'll excuse me, there's science to be doing."
And so he goes, humming tunelessly.
[Restaurant]
Kyou nods, standing and making off herself. "Thanks for the meal.", she says, before wandering off.
"I honestly cannot say. However, the notion of one of our own stirring up the hornets' nest that is the Gotei, by themselves no less, fills me with dread... -sir." Yuuta's mouth creases slightly downward to reflect that he is, in fact, speaking truth. "I'll depart immediately to join her."
Takeshi rolls his eyes slightly, waving a hand through the air.
"Not about the girl silly, I mean about everything else. Sayuri-chan said something before she left. That Chen would not approve. I want a second opinion. I'd rather not have to face her when its all done and have her be angry..."
He shrugs, slowly settling back into the seat, scowling widely.
"But go after Tai, dosn't matter. We need some smoke to get the blasted meat heads off our scent, before the whole plan gets totally ruined. So -you- do something. Anything. I don't give a flying frick. Blow up a building, punch someone in the face. Show some of your family in the 11th that your just plain better then they are. Dosn't matter to me. Just get out there and do it."
Yuuta's ghost of an expression dies. "-of course not, sir. In regards to my theory on the late Commander's stance on the reconstruction: in my very biased view, I believe that the goal of this project would be commended. However, I also must wonder if perhaps her approach to a similar end would not have been something akin to a series of lesser changes as opposed to our current slash and burn tactic."
"Well, then next time I see her I'll get scolded then I suppose. What the hell ever. Go after Tai, do what ever you the hell you guys want. I'm going to prepare for the demolition."
Takeshi raises from the seat slowly, trying to keep his balance. He gives a half snarl as he lobs the rest of the coffee and its mug across the room, stalking from the office past the massive man.
"Very good, sir." Yuuta bows his head respectfully to the passing Commander. "I'll give a full report on our progress when we return." With that, Yuuta takes his leave while sending a Hell Butterfly to Tai. "Tai, where are you?" Yuuta pauses for a moment before sending another. "-and have you already done anything..." He shudders ever so slightly. "Ill-advised?"
Kiku sends her reply then drops back with a sigh. The food finally comes in and she perks up a bit seeming to forget how Sayuri so rudely interrupted her. "Itadakimasu!" she chimed. She began eating something, then chewed for a moment, then asked Sigint, "Hey Sigint-kun. D'you know anything about the new Kido Commander? I know he's really young and stuff, but that's about it." She started chewing on her chopsticks idly about halfway through that sentence, but he still probably got what she said.
[13th Division]
"Yes, he is, Ma'am", Hachirou replies from the next table. He gives Koujin a wry smile - he finds it funny how quesy the younger officer is acting near his Captain. It's not like she's going to eat you or anything, you know.
Hachirou resumes his lunch, giving a few quick glances at his watch. He keeps listening with half an hear, waiting for Natsuko to finish her questioning. After taking his tray away, he returns to the table where Koujin and Natsuko are sitting.
"Hayashi-taichou, would you have some time to chat with me after this afternoon's training drill?", he asks. "I have some suggestions for arranging this year's joint practice patrol. 1st should deliver a list of new unseated Shinigami tomorrow morning..."
(As HG is absent, assume Hachirou and Natsuko are discussing routine measures untill the latter leaves for work. Koujin and Allan can interrupt any moment they want.)
Koujin slowly relaxes as the questions continue. Near the end, he's actually sitting all the way on his seat again. He absently fiddled with a chopstick while he spoke, more out of nervous energy than anything else.
Seeming satisfied with the answers she received, the 13th division captain spoke with her 13th seat for a while before excusing herself to her office. The sigh that followed Natsuko out of the room was perhaps a little over the top, even for how relieved Koujin now felt.
Being unsure around superiors as well as women... That sure must have sucked, ay?
Koujin shakes his head, taking another slow breath to purge his nervousness. "So...um...Hachirou? When is this training supposed to be? I don't see a time listed anywhere..."
((edit 2: is this change alright?))
"It's supposed to read in the upper right corner", Hachirou replies, glancing at the papers over Koujin's shoulder. "See? 45 minutes left before we start. So, are you still going to eat, or can I expect you to finish in few minutes so I can show you the training grounds?"
(To MSH and Dorizzit:)
SpoilerAs I'll be gone for a week from now, you can go on or skip over the training drill without me. If you want to play through the scene, you can puppet Hachirou around as much as necessary or give him some excuse to go elsewhere.
[Tai]
Tai strolls through the streets of the Soul Society, humming a cheerful tune as she goes. Her mission is top secret. Her focus is absolute. Her-
"Ooh! A butterfly!"
She goes running after the Hell Butterfly that flutters across the street ahead of her.
Sigint nods to the waitress as she brings the food. "Thank you." He says with his gravely voice. He was eating for a moment before Kiku inquired about Takeshi. He looks up after he is finished with the current bite and thinks for a second. "Well, from what I heard he's a genius, if a bit eccentric. He is young, as you say. Other than that, I can only assume that he is more than qualified for the job, considering Chen-sama's entrusting him with the job in the first place." He then seems to go back to his food for a second. "I'm guessing the person who sent the Hell Butterfly was wondering about him for some reason?"
"Mhm" Kiku nodded as she devoured her food. "She's mad at him. He just forgot to pay the bill last night, and now she wants to hex him." She heaved a sigh, then finished, "That's what kind of person she is, that Sayuri-chan."
