Couldn't hurt to ask.
I'd like to give it a shot, but Severin would never pressure his friend Gabriele into this course of action if she's uncomfortable about it, so Haval has final say.
Assuming we do try it, which of Sol's henchmen was in charge of the mine. Was it Ren?
Renn the Chiseler is in charge of the guards and is the overseer of the slaves. Nasir handles mining and smelting operations.
Yeah, no. If Severin's going to fail, I at least don't want to do it with a straight 100 on the roll...:smallredface:
Spending an FP to re-roll the Follow Trail check: [roll0] vs. Int 44
@dojango
Severin will await Galeazzo's reply to Gabriele before saying anything.
Need a roll
[roll0]
That's actually an Ulric's Fury on a very bad initiative roll
[roll0]
Any extra damage
[roll1]
Nice! Severin faffed pretty much all his rolls bar Initiative. :smallbiggrin:
Bandit 1 [roll0], [roll1], Parry [roll2]
Bandit 2 [roll3], [roll4]
Tick [roll5], [roll6]
Is the damage from the bandits given in the IC thread after reduction for armour and Toughness?
gross damage, not net
I'm going to need to fortune point the first attack
[roll0]
[roll0]: Bandit 2, [roll1]
[roll2]: Tick, [roll3]
@Haval
Did you remember to account for Gabriele's Toughness bonus when you were hit?
Oh right, I forgot Gabriele wasn't fully healed up from the lizard fight. Severin still had one Wound to recover as well.
bandit dodge [roll0]
bandit attack [roll1], [roll2]
Tick attack [roll3], [roll4]
Dang, these bad guys are truly blessed by the dice gods!
Severin is going to need to FP his Dodge roll or he's down to 0 Wounds.
[roll0] vs. Ag 62
Well...****. :smalleek:
@Haval
Looks like things went south quickly. How do you want to play this? Severin is at 0 Wounds, Gabriele at 2, and we have two uninjured enemies still standing.
We can still win this if our luck turns next round, and we both have Fate Points to avoid certain death, but obviously we then run the risk of that most awful of adventurer fates - waking up naked with all our stuff looted by the bad guys!
Do you want to keep fighting or see if we can buy our way clear with some cash? I'm pretty sure we said earlier that we weren't lugging about all our cash when leaving the camp, but some financial or equipment loss seems likely unless we win outright.
Ugh, wish I'd used a fortune point on the last round now. I suppose this is how WFRP combat can go. I think Gabriele's the most combat capable character I have at the moment outside of the werewolf in Benno's game, but she lacks the ability to reliably do much else.
I feel like they don't have much reason to negotiate if they're winning, so do we need a lie to back up our position?
We might be able to get part of the way just by putting up a brave front. It's night (or at least evening) and things are happening quickly - the exact severity of our injuries probably isn't going to be immediately obvious and we're still two well armed, well armoured mercenaries who just saw off their mate and stand a good chance of hurting both of them a lot. Apart from Tick, I imagine the other robbers are just in this for an easy score - if we agree to pay them off so that the evening doesn't have to end with any of us dying, they might agree to that.
Come to think of it, if we're feeling especially daring, perhaps the solution is to offer to pay Tick's remaining friend to come over to our side and therefore not need to risk his life. I.e. he gets a payday in return for turning on Tick and helping us subdue him. We go away tomorrow and no one's any the wiser about what happened to Tick in the end?
It's worth a try.
I don't mean to complain, but...what's with the dice roller!??? Severin has now missed 5 out of 6 attacks in the fight and 5 out of 6 dodges and parries!
How often do we regain Fortune Points again? I'm down to my last one, but the damage on the last attack would ordinarily be worth a re-roll.
I think the rules say 'the start of each day' so after you wake up from a night's rest. Sunrise if you stay up all night.
Ah, what the heck - let the fortune points fall where they may!
Re-rolling attack [roll0] vs. BS 63
Edit: Praise Ranald! A solid hit at last! Might even help Tick consider his options carefully...
@dojango
Has Tick managed to hobble out of range already, or can Severin sling some more rocks at him?
@Haval
If you're feeling brave, there's a chance Gabriele could run him down and grapple him. I'd have Severin do it, but even if he manages to hit, Tick can break free with an opposed Strength test, which Severin is unlikely to win.
Well there's always the longbow but I'd like to make sure this time. I thought grappling was talent dependent in this one, but I may have missed it. I've misled my book anyway so I'll post in the morning.
Anyone can grapple, WS test and then a bunch of other tests to follow. Tick is still in range of the sling, good thing Severin can see well at night.
